  2. Barb posted on the boys bball board, though it was because someone said something bad about greeneville. Maybe someone just needs to come on here and stir the pot to get her started. /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" />
  3. I love raiderray, no axe in my hand /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Jefferson County won over Halls last night 52-42 Nine players scored for the Lady Patriots, led by Haley Nelson with 13. Freshman Lacy Miller gave the team a spark with eight third-quarter points, including a pair of threes after Halls had pulled within one. She finished with nine points. Lyke - 6 Potts - 2 and eight first-half rebounds Elliott - 3 Huff - 6 Kyle 7 Brooks 4 Batey 2 Jefferson County led 18-7 after the first quarter and 24-21 at halftime.
  4. I would assume that will be the location for the East to host it this year, and next year it will be on the west side somewhere.
  5. Don't know if I've just overlooked it or what, surprised Barb and Raiderray haven't been talking it up already. Anyway, basketball starts up in full next week. Jefferson County has a home scrimmage tonight against Knox Halls. Girls start a 6 p.m., boys to follow.
  6. Yeah, your backfield next year might be mcfall (qb) brooks and tolliver
  7. If Jeff Co plays next week like it did tonight, it will be a loooooooong night in west knoxville /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  8. Was this a serious comment? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. It's looking like 1 Bearden 2 D-B 3 Campbell County (if they beat karns) 4 Jefferson County
  10. Now, a "what if" if JC beats Seveir County and my guesses at other outcomes Bearden 6-0, 9-1 wins over Sevier and Jefferson Kingsport D-B 5-1, 7-3 wins over Karns, Campbell and Science Hill Jefferson County 3-3, 6-4 win over Sevier, loss to Bearden Science Hill 3-3, 5-5 wins over Campbell and Karns, loss to D-B Sevier County 2-4, 3-7 losses to Jefferson and Bearden Campbell County 2-4, 3-7 losses to Science Hill and D-B, win over Karns Karns 0-6, 1-9 losses to D-B, Science Hill and Campbell Co

  12. That wasn't even the worst one. Fourth and 3 near midfield, leading the game late in the fourth quarter. Go for it, don't get it, give your opponent the ball and shortfield
  13. The 87 team will be meeting in the commons area before the game, around 5:30 or so, and then be honored on the field either before the game or at halftime. Anyway, while i was going back through some archives, the 87 JCHS team finished the season ranked 4th in the USA Today Super 25 poll, still the highest a team from Tennessee has been ranked in the final poll. They were also ranked fifth in the country by ESPN and secnd by the National Prep Poll. Jefferson is 5-1, Maury is 0-6, White Pine is 4-0, Rush Strong is 1-4. Jefferson plays at Maury Tuesday, White Pine at Rush Strong on October 11. Jefferson and White Pine are developing the kids nicely, all 22 of JMS starters are eighth graders, both schools should contribute a large number to another successful freshman team next season. Rush Strong has a few talented athletes, losing a lot of close games. Maury...well they are getting blown out by everyone. Jefferson will probably play a couple extra games after the regular season is over, if they finish second in the conference and qualify for the "playoffs". I would like to see Jeff and White Pine play myself though. Coach Ellis and his staff at WP have done a great job of getting the players out and putting exciting football on the field the past few years.
  14. PTS, me and the CTSportswriter will be at sagebrush after the game, be there or be square. BTW, I see your blasting of the refs has rubbed off on PTSportseditor (see article on cosby)
  15. Warlock, freshmen couldn't come out for spring practice...A lot of the 100 or so out in the fall were made up of freshmen though /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. If I could get those inside connections like your partna, I would be there every night ...
  17. Both teams scored twice Jefferson County's first series went like this (take note that yardage is roughly due to the nature of field and officiating) 1 - Long incomplete pass 2 - Brooks 8 yard run 3 - McFall 7 yard run 4 - Brooks 5 yard run 5 - McFall 6 yard run 6 - fumble snap 7 - Long pass to Stepp, outjumped two defenders roughly 25-30 yards 8 - McFall 7 yard run 9 - Long 1 yard run Touchdown 10 - Brooks 7 yard run I guess the most obvious thing is that every run went for 5+ yard except for the TD, Against Knox West Jefferson County probably didnt have but a handful of runs that long, and numerous that went for negative yards. Central also scored on the 9th play of its first offensive series. Jefferson County's second series was a mix of first team and second team players. Central failed to score on its second drive, after moving down around the 10-15 yard line. Central scored on its third series with backups, while Jefferson County failed to score with its backups. Clark McMillan went out after the sixth play, throwing up, but returned on the 9th and threw for a touchdown. When the first teamers came back in, it went 1 - Brooks +6 2 - Long +4 3 - Brooks +18 fumble (start back at 45) 4 - McFall -3 5 - Long +5 6 - Brooks +16 7 - Brooks +18 8 - McFall halfback pass intercepted in the end zone 9 - McFall +7 10 - McFall +3 Wyl McMillan was hurt on the final play and the scrimmage was called Jefferson County's next scrimmage will be on Thursday, August 16 against Farragut. The Patriots will play Cherokee in the third quarter of the IMAC Jamboree, August 17 at Burke-Toney Stadium. Jefferson County 2007 Schedule/Results 8-24 Greeneville 7:30 p.m. 8-31 @ Morristown West 7:30 p.m. 9-7 @ Campbell County 7:30 p.m. 9-14 Morristown East 7:30 p.m. 9-21 Kingsport D-B 7:30 p.m. 9-28 @ Cocke County 7:30 p.m. 10-5 Karns 7:30 p.m. 10-12 @ Science Hill 7:30 p.m. 10-19 @ Sevier County 7:30 p.m. 11-2 Bearden 7:30 p.m.
  18. Nevermind, it is indeed going to stay at Jeff County. The reason was, the freshman are also going to be scrimmaging West and Central, so one would have been on regular field and one on practice. Here is the current freshman schedule Aug 23 Greeneville Away Aug 30 TBA Sept 6 Carter Home Sept 13 Campbell County Away Spet 20 TBA Sept 27 D-B Home Oct 1 Knox West Home Oct 11 TBA Oct 18 Science Hill Away Oct 25 Sevier County Away Nov 1 Karns Home The Greeneville game starts at 6 p.m., all others start at 5:30
  19. Tim Landefeld will be taking over the Jefferson program. Maury hired Adam Evans to replace Woods, he was head coach at Carter middle last year. Not sure what Wilson you are talking about?
  20. Being from Jefferson County, I too have seen a great deal of this, not only in football but some of the smaller sports
  21. Hey JC, just one thing to change from my previous post. The Jamboree is back at Burke-Toney this year, not Burke-Tarr. Another thing, not yet decided. The scrimmage with Central may be moved to down there. There was recently new sod put down on parts of Leroy Shannon, so it depends on if its ready by then. DANDRIDGE - Jefferson County head football coach Justin Anderson has announced that his team will begin preseason camp on Sunday, July 22, at 2 p.m. All rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors who want to play football in 2007 need to attend this opening session, and arrive at 1:30 p.m. The normal camp hours will be from 7:30 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. on weekdays from July 23 thru August 3. The camp will conclude with a scrimmage at Knox West on Friday, August 3, at 6 p.m. Before the Patriots begin camp, they will travel to South-Doyle tonight for a 7-on-7 passing workout. The two teams competed in a similar practice at JCHS last month. The remainder of Jefferson County’s 2007 preseason schedule is as follows: Tuesday, August 7, scrimmage at home against Knox Central; Thursday, August 16, scrimmage at home against Farragut; Friday, August 17, IMAC Jamboree at Burke-Toney Stadium in Morristown. The JCHS Freshmen team will open its season on Thursday, August 23, at Greeneville. The varsity Patriots will begin the year by hosting the Green Devils the following night at 7:30 p.m.
  22. Hey Patriotman, I wasn't tired of it and it was impressive that it lasted so long But it was getting offbase alittle bit with the morristown east chatter so i thought this might help get it back on track
