Michigan saw Rod at the Cincy Combine when he was a freshman to be. They were blown away. The Army Game is a lot of politics I am pushing it everyday for Rod to be a part of that game. Thanks for the kudos, I enjoy helping kids get a shot to play at the next level. I spoke with Rod a couple of days ago he said it was crazy, I did not ask him about Michigan but I will when I catch up to him. Rod reminds me a lot of when Rex Chapman was recruited back in 1985. Tons of press and pressure but Rex lived up to the hype. Rod is tracking the same path. Hope to see all of you at Lincoln County this friday. We will be without Sonny but it should be fun.

Let’s just wait until The Army Bowl Committee makes their selection. In my opinion that is what I use to measure the skill. To say anybody is the best is tough. Every kid has their night during the season. Golden Tate was an excellent player but he was not good enough to make the squad for the Army Game. There was 635 D-1 athletes at the San Antonio Combine in January. Rod was first team he looked unbelievable. Spurlock is a great football player but he is not the best. Most of the guys I filmed in January were 6’7” and 300 + . These guys were monsters. But who am I.

The Dogs Will play BA at their house final plans are in process. The favor will be returned the following year.

I rode out on the plane to TX with his head coach great guy. Donald is a first class I had a chance to rap with him on Friday during the combine, he is the real deal.

I would like to inform the region 4-5A fans that Sonny and Rod are doing great at the combine. Rod is on track to be one of the best in the nation. Sonny damaged a kids face today with his arm strength. The kid was on the ground flopping like a fish after a bullet pass. There are about 500 combine participants here in Texas. We have been here since Thursday. There are studs here from all 50 states. According to www.scout.com the lineman are off the charts. These guys are so big and powerful. The average height is 6'4 weight is kicking around 285 and up. Tomorrow is the timing part of the combine and the game. We will be at the Alamodome at 6 am for the final testing. I think this game has another angle nobody has considered. Smyrna was a part of the Mid-State Youth Football program and of course UNA. At least 75% of the players that are on the roster played in that league. Is this a battle of where you started? I know Smyrna is a part of TYFA today, but I look at it as The two leagues finally getting to play each other. As for the the "I believe" battle here is my comment. At 7:00 on Saturday Night they will put a coin in the air. We will find out who gets the ball first, and then we will buckle em up and go to work. It is simple as that. Good Luck to the Bulldogs.

I do not disagree the key word is "slight". I have done highlight videos on several different players in Rutherford County. Gleen McKnight who played back in the Day O was and is the fastest I have seen to date. Gaston ran the best in the open field. Marsalous is the best in take off his second step is what makes him deadly. Charles Orona did things with the football on Friday night that only he can do. It’s kind of like watching Larry Daniels. Larry and Charles have that same feature they can lock it up and take off again. It doesn’t matter. The 40 yard dash rules all with schools that have rings on their fingers and trophies in their cases. If coaches could teach that much speed difference they would be rich. God issues out who gets speed we do agree on that.

It is a measurement used by each college when recruiting kids. Regardless of opinion it is the busiest station at the combines. If a kid runs a 4.42 (there are no 4.3's) everybody at the combine knows it. You can’t teach speed. You can teach them to block, you can teach them to tackle but you can’t teach speed. It rules all. I have decided to say something also! My experience with Coach G is extremely positive. He cares about the athletes as a whole person. It speaks a lot when a coach tells his troops I am stepping down and they speak out in his defense of coaching and as a complete person. Think about your school or your boss and if they announced they are stepping down would you act the same? It is a sign of successful leadership. I took Marsalous and Charles to the Ohio State Nike Workout and they will both tell you it was the best football players gathering up for a day of getting better and having fun.
