Ill start with the the conso. game now I believe the Dragons are the better playing team right now but then you have to consider that they are playing at Oak Ridge and in the District Tournament so everything being said i think this one is won by one team on a last sec. shot or in O.T. cant make a prediction yet. The championship game I am going to predict Halls to win this one, I believe if they can speed the tempo of the game up against Powell and not let the post players (Smith and Ward) get set up and in a position to get the ball to score or create something to happen for the rest of the team. If Halls can hold Ward or Smith one below 20 i believe they've got t his game. But still not by much. Halls by 2.

The Cougars battled through the year w/ tough luck and hard scheduling, they played some good teams close and upset a couple. I think CC has alot of players returning next year so good luck then.

This is just like last year. Clinton prooves theirselves by beating everyone in the district atleast 1ce and ALL of yall pick them to choke at tournament time just like last year. Last year we made it to state though and Clinton may be peaking at the right time to atleast make a run for it this year. Look for them and Oak Ridge to go down to the wire at OR and Region is at Clinton this year and they always play good at home. So look for a big push for Sub-State from the Dragons. And also Jamesd you asked why RimRecker picked Halls over Oak Ridge when theyve beat them 2 times already this year, then how can you turn around and pick Halls over Clinton when Clinton has beat them 2 good times this year. My predictions for the final games are Clinton vs. Oak Ridge in the championship. Karns vs. Powell in the consolation game.

I think Clinton will come through under pressure and win a close one at the Den.

Thats district 3-AAA, 2-AAA is teams like Science Hill and Dobyns Bennett etc. i think.

Anderson Co. schools, includes Clinton HS and Anderson Co. HS. Does not include Oak Ridge HS.

Their is no way this game could be cancelled and not made up after all the money it makes for both schools. This is like a have to be played game even though it isnt a district game or anything.

Dandrus Whitt should be no lower than 5 on that list.

What if Clinton won out and Oak Ridge lost to Karns or Central. Which one of those teams would get the 1st place bid. Also, Clinton beat Oak Ridge at the first of the season in a non-district match-up. Could this in anyway take affect in the standings if their needed to be a tie-breaker done?

This game might have only been an 8 point win for the Dragons but this one was never close. The Dragons came out on fire and it seemed like everytime Whitt shot the ball it went in. Also OR's guards played horrible, Younkin was off from 3, Coffey shot 3 airballs i think, The short pg shot a couple of airballs and didnt do too much, i didnt see Goeringer doing too much, and Domsic was in foul trouble the whole night. and at the end of the game thats what made a difference. Also, I believe the officiating was fair and for the most part accurate. This just mades a close district battle even closer.

The reason why you probably thought Clinton is about 4th or 5th in the district may be because Dandrus Whitt played a bad game, and also Whitt did foul out so 1 player from Clinton was gone. Also, anyone from Karns cant talk about bad officiating at the other teams home place. Now you may know what its like every game at Karns.

The girls beat Powell.

My oppinion on this whole deal is that Oak Ridge will win the Regular Season District Title an deither Oak Ridge or Clinton will win the Tourney Title. No other team in the District has won a Regular Season or Tournament Title in about 10 years I believe other than Clinton or Oak Ridge, both seem to step it up tournament time if they havent been playing well and I think they should both be predicted to be on top until prooven otherwise.

Right now their 12-10 w/ a few tough losses, a couple x-mas tourney losses, 2 losses to Bradley Central, 1 to Clevelan, and 1 to Greeneville who are really good teams. Clinton is 4-3 in the District with wins over Central, Campbell Co., Powell, and an OT win over Halls. Their losses came to Central, Karns and Oak Ridge. Clinton also beat Oak Ridge in a Thanksgiving tourney. If you seen Clinton last year their guards were young and relied heavily on their post play. Well this year has been a 180 degree turn. Clinton relies on their guards, Dandrus Whitt is averaging over 25 ppg, Jonathan Dye over 15 ppg, and Jordan Dixon over 10 ppg. Everyone on the team including their post players can shoot the 3 and they have a defensive press that IS unbreakable everytime down the court. Last year Clinton seemed to slow the tempo of the game down and just get good looks down to the post but this year they scored 104 points in a game, AND LOST.

With Shipwash no longer w/ the team and Roth hurt then that makes the Dragons shot at beating the Beavers alot better. I still look for it to be a close game but Clinton pulling it out as in years past. For as long as I can remember in this series Clinton has won at Clinton and Karns has won at Karns.

Last year any one of those 5 teams would have probably been good enough to get into the region but this year its too close to tell and I still wouldnt feel safe playing CC or Central w/ a Region birth on the line, both of them like to sneak up on people. Thats how close this district is.

Clinton @ Halls this past Friday night. I dont think either team was up by more than 5 the whole game and Halls was up by 3 w/ 11 sec. left Clinton's Dandrus Whitt hit a 3 w/ about 3 sec. left to send it into overtime. Clinton ended up winning by 4 in OT off of freethrow shooting.

Clinton beat Halls last night. So this district is even closer than we all thought. With Central upsetting Clinton and only loosing by 2 last night to Oak Ridge and w/ Campbell Co. upsetting Karns just prooves that any team can be beaten on any night and which 4 go to region is a HUGE mystery. This is the closest district race in my lifetime and im just excited to see how it turns out.

Both teams kindof choked at the end of regulation on freethrows, Trey Shoemaker who led Prep-Xtra in freethrow shooting 100% missed 2 in a row right at the end of the game when it was tied i believe. I also think the officials were pretty good under the circumstances (Halls got more calls i believe in regulation and Clinton in OT) Although i do have to admit Halls didnt get a call they shoudl have gotten w/ about 3 sec left when a Halls player drove the lane and Eric Hensley was all over him. The call wouldnt have changed the outcome i dont believe but still should have probably been called. Both teams hustled and got after loose balls and went on streaks. Im ready to watch the rematch in Clinton. Also Dandrus Whitt came up huge hitting a 3 as time expired in the 3rd and hit the game tying 3 w/ about 4 sec. left.

AT the end of the game those were more than questionable calls. They seemed to me like they were outright wrong. Now most of the game the refs called the game good and fair and the teams were almost even on fouls, but their in the 4th quarter i believe when Clinton took a 1 point lead and Jonathan Dye drove the lane took 2 steps and hit a layup they called it a walk and it was clearly 2 steps. AC went back down the court and took the lead and then later on the game was tied and Matt Ford set a screen for Whitt behind the 3 point line, he had his feet set and his hands in and i think it was called a moving screen. I dont know if those calls just came at coincidental times or what but it just seemed like the refs were trying to loose the game for the Dragons. But, I have to congradulate the Mavs they stayed in their and were up the whole game, if they didn't play good and werent right in their w/ the Dragons then it wouldnt have mattered about the controversial calls and one more thing, i did notice that Ac looked like they were getting on the ground for loose balls more than Clinton did so good hustle for the Mavs, and well see you at the Dragon Den.

Here is some facts for you all. Since 97' i believe no other team has won the regular season district title or the district tournament title other than Clinton and Oak Ridge. So khsbball that means Karns has won 0 since then.

I can tell you right now Fox WILL not handle the Dragon press by himself. If Fox is one of AC's main ball handlers it is looking better for Clinton. Now Laverdier is quick but can't break the press by himself and i don't think Stooksbury has the maturity at the varsity level to break a TOUGH press like Clintons.

With all the losses at the guard spot i think Anderson Co. will have a tough time breaking the TOUGH Clinton press. But still i think it could be a toss up. Hopefully Clinton coming out on top.

I made my reply about the first Central-Clinton game jamesd that was posted before the game and yes Clinton came out hitting. The defense looked like it was unstoppable and if they can keep it going they will make a push for the district title after a slow start.
