  1. What about this? Medley moves up to principal, Kelly comes back to be head coach and Moose returns to run the defense. It sounds good to me, but JK and Moose would have to take pretty hefty pay cuts to leave Sumner and Rutherford to take jobs in Smith County.
  2. The Carthage Courier is reporting that Bob Dillard has resigned as head football coach at Gordonsville High School.
  3. The TACA east-west games are coming up soon at Trevecca in Nashville. Who are the coaches and who made the teams?
  4. Mt. Juliet committed 7 errors and allowed 6 unearned runs. Josh Cotham (3-1) took the loss. He went four innings, allowed four hits, struck out four and gave up one earned run. MJ outhit Beech 9-7, but couldn't overcome the errors. Mt. Juliet dropped to 13-3 overall / 3-2 in 9-AAA.

    Trick Plays.

I remember this one from a College World Series several years ago. Runner on first, defensive team is in the first base dugout. Pitcher is on the backside of the mound, perhaps just off the dirt, and fakes a throw to first. The first baseman dive for the "errant" throw and the bullpen along the right field line all jump up as if they are getting out of the way. The runner breaks for second -- the pitcher then flips the ball to second for the out. Anyone else remember seeing this one?
  6. Will Moose stay on at Oakland and be a part of the new coaching staff?
  7. Nothing on Sunday. Central and another team were headed to Florida. Outfield at Lebanon saturated.
  8. Check the Thompson girl at Watertown high. Solid post player, great hands and touch. Will continue to improve as she loses some more weight. Knows how to play inside.
  9. the wilson post on-line edition reports Darian Brown has resigned at girls basketball coach at Lebanon. He's taking an assistant principal position at Wilson central. Someone will have big shoes to fill.
  10. This puts Coach Satterfield in the rare position to pretty much name his replacement. The person who follows Clint will have a tough job. No one will pour the effort into the job that he did.
  11. The kids as well as the coaches deserve a lot of credit. Coach Brown works them HARD in practice, everyone is moving, doing something -- no standing around. His positive attitude has rubbed off on everyone in the program. The former principal took a chance on him and the new principal looks to be in his corner. I even saw the new guy on his feet yelling at an official the other night. It's hard enough to win in 7-AAA if everyone is pulling the same way. It's dang near impossible if there's bickering in the ranks. Enjoy the ride Devilette fans. NEVER take winning for granted.
  12. 98.9 FM. pre-game around 6:50 p.m.
  13. Lebanon wins in 2 OT's 67-62. Whew!
  14. Lebanon freshman Marissa Jennings hits a 3 at the buzzer to send it to second OT -- 57-all.
  15. 51-all end of regulation. Overtime. Luffman a putback at the buzzer to tie it up. London Elie has fouled out.
  16. Lawrence County cut it to six at 36-30, but LHS leads 42-33 after three quarters.
  17. HALFTIME score -- Lebanon 28, Lawrence Co. 17. London Elie with 14 points and five blocks.
  18. Lebanon leads Lawrence County 12-9 after one quarter. London Elie with 3 blocks.
  19. Tyler Cutter finished with 32 points as Siegel eliminated Lebanon 80-68 Friday night. Siegel was 6-of-8 on 3-pointers.
  20. What ever happened to the twin girls who played on Coffee County's AAA state championship team some 11-12 years ago? I think they went on to play at Cumberland in Lebanon.
  21. Congratulations to Lebanon High post player London Elie. The 6-3 senior has signed with Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville.
  22. If this has been covered previously, please forgive me. What is the format of the 7-AAA district tournament this year? Satellite games? And if so, where is the central site for semifinals and finals?
  23. Congratulations to the Dean of District 7-AAA coaches RANDY KING. I remember when he was the "King of the Valley" -- slugging long home runs for the old Valley Discount softball team. One of the most personable and classy guys around.
  24. I saw them vs. Friendship -- Watertown turned the ball over about 25 times. That's being pretty careless with the ball. If you figure a TO costs your team 1 point -- that's a 12.5 point spread right there.
  25. I agree, win a regional game or two -- that would be a huge building block. Big test Friday night as White County comes to town. Best of luck Devilettes.
