Mt. Juliet forced AT LEAST 15 first half turnovers -- accounting for many layups. Mentally, Lebanon never appeared to be in the game. Mt. Juliet was playing with a purpose, LHS was playing scared.

OT Slade Adams, a 4-A Mr. Football finalist from Mt. Juliet, was added to the East roster earlier this week.

Smyrna's Rod Wilks is the MVP; Smyrna' Sonny Gray is Offensive MVP; Montori Hughes of Siegel is Defensive MVP; Wilson Central's Chase Matheson is Special Teams MVP. Riverdale's Ron Adelyott (sp) was Coach of the Year.

Jeff worked with three different head coaches in three years of varsity wrestling at Lebanon, going 78-14-1 over that time with 13 individual tournament titles under his belt. He was 34-1-1 as a senior in 1984 -- the year he won the 103 state title. He's still remembered fondly in Lebanon. This is the inaugural Hall of Fame class at LHS and he's one of only 13 honorees. He's the only individual state champ LHS has ever had (track, tennis, cross-country, golf, etc.) Quite an accomplishment for an outstanding young man.

1984 -- refer to the above rule. Third party filming is illegal. There were TWO teams involved in this, not just Watertown. Again, if FCS wants film so bad, why not swap like football? Or send in the junior high coach to scout. All this cloak and dagger stuff is for the birds. Just how far will someone go to gain what they think is a competitive edge? Maybe we should ask the coach of the NE Patriots -- author of the NFL's "filmgate" controversy.

I'm hearing Shadowens is retiring from Smyrna after today and taking the AD job at Middle Tennessee Christian. He's got daughters in school there. Think about it -- what else does he have to prove at Smyrna? Rod and Sonny are leaving. He'd be a good one to oversee MTCS's growing athletic department.

I think the Watertown AD or principal could have politely asked them to put their camera up. Why basketball coaches don't swap films like football coaches do is beyond me. Everyone has to work their "secret" back channels -- and now this. You might consider this incident could have been a renegade parent acting on his own. At least I hope so. Was this during the boys game or the girls game? I saw something like this 10 or 12 years ago in a Christmas classic. Team A and Team B were playing at Team C's home court. Teams A & B were filming from upstairs. Team C had a camera set up and was prepared to film the game. Team B refused to take the floor until Team C's camera came down. I say good for Team B -- what do you think? It's pretty easy to buy a ticket and send your junior high coach to scout. Just do that and leave the camera at home.

Oakland led the entire fourth quarter and pulls out a 54-52 win. Jaamal Hughes has 22 for the Patriots, including 10-of-12 at the line, hitting his last 10 in a row. Xavier Shith had 21 for Lebanon and Casey Nunley 18.

Oakland has a great 3rd quarter and leads 42-31. Lebanon's Cruddup hit a 45-footer at the buzzer or it would have been worse.

At halftime, Oakland and Lebanon are tied at 23-23.

Lebanon improved to 5-3 with a 38-18 win over Oakland Friday night at LHS. Ebony Marshall with 10 for the Devilettes, Icely Elie with 9 and London Elie with 8 on a 4-of-5 night from the field.

2P -- I know this is off topic, but how is Messick doing. Is he still wearing the halo?

I'm hearing Shadowens will make the state championship game his swan song at Smyrna. Possibly retiring from the state system and taking a post with Middle TN Christian School. If so, pretty good way to ride off into the sunset -- back-to-back trips to the finals with Rod and Sonny. Best of luck in the future Coach Shad.

Palmer had Mt. Juliet Christian competitive when he was there. I think he'll be just fine given some time.

The job Brown did turning that program around from a laughingstock in one season was remarkable. The practice sessions are well organized, everybody doing something -- no standing around. The players are working with a purpose. Did you see the game at Mt. Juliet last year? Shame on you Mac -- is your kid not getting enough playing time?

Maasen has a tremendous up side. He's a competitor and will only get better with experience. I don't know that McNeal had many options after Alsup was hurt. It wasn't like they were going to air it out regardless of who the QB was.

Is Herzog a former Vandy GA? If so, he did a year at Lebanon as defensive coordinator some 10-12 years ago.

Chase Matheson from Wilson Central has been outstanding this year. BOOMING kick-offs deep into the endzone and very long range on his FGs. He's been a big part of Central's success this season.

Is there a pretty good sit-down restaurant close to Lincoln County High? Not a Hardee's, McDonalds or the like -- maybe a Mom & Pop meat and three place. I'm looking for a pregame meal for my family of five.

RE: Oakland. I know Marshall, Cowan and Hannah all have head coaching experience. Any chance one of these guys get a shot at the top job?
