  1. I bet the last time two IMAC teams were ranked 1 and 2 in the Knoxville area by any publication was in 2004/2005 when Greeneville and Jefferson County were ruling the IMAC. IMAC is deservedly getting some respect. Word is that Whitney Kyle is still doing rehab, unknown when she will be active.
  2. Cocke County at Jefferson County from December has been rescheduled for Jan 18th.
  3. Thanks for all the updates. If I was a betting man, and in fact they have to play on a Saturday, I would put my money on Jan 23rd. It comes in what looks like a soft part of the confernece schedule for both teams, based on current standings. However, as we all know, there is never a "soft" game in the IMAC. Merry Christmas!
  4. By the way, anyone heard when last Friday's games are going to be made up? I looked at the Jefferson County Jan and Feb schedule, and didn't see any holes in it, as far as obvious open dates.
  5. I am disappointed that Jefferson County is no longer participating in the Ladies Classic. It is a great tournament to see some great talent, and to get to see some area teams that you wouldn't always get a chance to see. I also think that while it is great that Cocke County is in it, I think it is sad that more IMAC teams are not. I haven't looked at schedules...who is playing where over the next week or so (tournaments)? Merry Christmas to the IMAC thread! You know, we needs a holiday smiley! Maybe a smiley with a holiday hat?
  6. Hey, wake up guys! I had to go to the 2nd page to find the thread! Ya'll have a reputation to uphold!
  7. Johnny has some interesting charachteristics. I know in the past, he was not well liked by other coaches in the IMAC, but with all the turnover at the coaching level, I am not sure what the other coaches think. I know he has first named some opposing players during games, and during post game handshakes, which I don't think is very professional either.
  8. Gee Don, was beating the ex-coach fun? How did Haley do against you guys?
  9. I know you have missed me! And the roly polys You guys are keeping up the great IMAC tradition - 41 posts, and the second HOF games haven't been played yet! My humble opinion - West is 1, Cocke is 2, 3-7 is determined by matchups. East has size, JC has quickness, Cherokee could be the sleeper, playing all the youngsters they played last year, but new coach....Seymour will have to rely on quickness and hot shooting, their size left for Middle Tennessee (sorry Don), who knows about Sevier County, and South Doyle is likely in for a another loooooonnnnng season. I will be checking in from time to time to make sure you guys are keeping it real, and keeping it calm and creditable.... One irony - Jeff County was already playing home and homes with Sevier and South Doyle, and used to play Seymour in HOF game. So they may know the new teams better than anyone else. Probably means very little....
  10. Milligan is doing a great job of picking up underhyped local talent. Ashlee Price and Alisha Mainer last year, Casteel and Gardiner this year. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. Don, no slam intended for the Panthers, I just am never sure what age brackets you are fielding. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> I hope you are having another great year! And although I know you don't need encouragement to toot your own horn, why don't you go ahead and make your case? toot your own horn? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  12. So, are they going to have a selection process, or just appoint someone, like they did the girl's coach?
  13. First off, do not take my comments as support of the actions by some of the Trotter parents. However, I will say that there was enough blame to go around on both sides. I think both sets of parents lost a little perspective yesterday. This was a GAME involving 12 YEAR OLD GIRLS. It was not a high school championship game, a college game or the WNBA! The interesting part was that post game, the players were talking calmly to each other and otherwise setting a fine example of sportsmanship. One some parents could learn from. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  14. AAU : 14U and presumably 15U next year, I would suggest getting in touch with the following organizations: Tn Lady Trotters TN Select / Flight Both of these organizations are comittted to teaching solid basketball, solid citizenship (character), and play a lot of exposure tournaments. There is also the Express, which are based out of the upper East TN area Rob - KGC has stopped the higher age brackets, right? Good luck! And welcome to East TN! As a former Texas native, I will tell you that I wouldn't move back. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  15. It certainly would have been nice for West to get to the 'Buro this year, representing the IMAC in its last year of its current configuartion. One question I have for the West fans : Do you think that playing at Walter State was a good decision, or would have been better to play at East, or Jeff or Greeneville, as they have done in previous substate years? I guess I was thinking that even playing at Jeff would have been more familiar than playing at Walter State. Good Luck to the Seniors in whatever the decide to do following high school. Best Wishes to Nicole and any other Senior signing to continue to play ball in college, whether it be basketball or other. If you can, you might want to read the back page of last week's SI. It has an interesting story of a young lady that will be a teammate of Nicole's next season. So long to our familiar IMAC (and our wonderful posters). It was a great ride while it lasted.... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  16. Nice job WEST! The door is wide open now that Oak Ridge has lost tonight. Either Powell or Bearden now stands in the way of going to the 'boro! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. bumpidy bump bump bump /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  18. Thanks. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. Can someone post the all conference and all tournament teams? Thanks
  20. That is correct. The teams are listed in bracket order, so the winners of the two top games play for a sub state berth, as do the winners in the lower two games.
  21. My early thoughts: The Jeff County game will be very competitive. According to reports, Central played very well without Whitney Moody tonight, but could be in the wounded animal syndrome...may not last. They get the advantage of playing at home, but I still think it will be very close. Tenn High has to come to the Hen House, and I think that makes the differnece for Cocke County. Tenn High is a guard oriented team, Cocke County has tons of height. Classic matchup. West in a romp. Greeneville I think has too much for Science Hill. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  22. I will take a stab at it. Morristown West - Great to solid at all starting positions, first three subs are quality, although usually only two subs get a lot of minutes. Post (Hall) is outstanding, Miss Basketball nominee. The two wings (Smith and Watson) can shoot the three, and are hard working defensive players. The two (Goins) is a slasher, pull up jump shooter with great hops. Both the starting (Fanney) and backup (Mayes) points do a great job of running the offense, starter is a penetrator, backup is more of a perimeter shooter. Scary point - only Watson is a Senior. Cocke County - lots of size. Start 3 6 footers (or near 6 foot), an outstanding scoring point guard, and a gritty two guard. The 4 (Depew) is a threat from anywhere, outstanding rebounder and defender, good shooter, and leader of the team. In my opinion, they win ugly. They are tenacious (sp) on the boards, and work hard. Good post sub, decent perimeter subs. The starters do most of the work. Greeneville - Outstanding (D1 signee) post, Nicole Dickson. IMO, she ought to play the three in college. Good wing (Shipley). Role players everywhere else, guard play is suspect, and can be pressured. Thin bench. Hard defensive team, will punish you crossing the lane. Jefferson County - no size to speak of. Perimeter team. Point guard leads the team in scoring. Injuries have decimated the post position, they are playing with 2 posts, plus one injured post. Very quick team. I am sure my fellow posters will add what they see as my oversights. The Greeneville fans will take offense at my comments about the guard play, and my indifference of anyone else besides Dickson and Shipley as scorers.
  23. That is strange...... Maybe Cocke County forgot thier white ones?
