  1. I think you might get 1/2 of that to happen, TC!!!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> By the way, I am picking Cocke County at home over East, and Jeff on the road at Cherokee. And, I am picking Greeneville to beat whomever they are playing at Tenn High tonight. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. OK so much for my injury crystal ball. Miller played more than 1/2 the game tonight, partly due to Nelson's foul trouble. I think Lyke had 14 and Lacy had 13 to pace Jeff County. East stayed in the game in the 1st half by hitting foul shots, as Jeff County got a lot of reach-in fouls, and were having trouble keeping Leeper and Orrick off the boards. East led 26-21 with about 2 minutes left in the half, but Jeff County got it tied up on a three and a basket. Jeff than dominated the 3rd quarter, outscoring East 17-6, and then took the air out of the ball in the 4th quarter. East has a lot of talent, but unfortunately, they don't have a ballhandler. Pressure by Jeff County tonight was the key, as Jeff does not have the size to battle with East inside. As to the other, I think it might be possible that West is the frontrunner, Greeneville and Cocke County might be battling for 2nd. Cocke County played Greeneville tough LAST year, and if possible, I think Cocke County matches up better with Greeneville this year than they did last year. I know that is going to get the Greeneville folks riled up, but I think the talent is just not as strong as it has been. We will see, obviously. Good health to everyone!
  3. Wow, noone else ready to go out on the limb for tonight's game? WIMPS! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  4. Last year, they had no capable backup behind Head. Unless someone has developed, or they have a freshman that came along, they will have difficulties. Devine gives them a presence from the other post, and they have a couple of perimeter shooters, but they depend on Head breaking down the defense, and then getting the ball to the post, or kicking it to a standing perimeter shooter. I haven't seen them this year, but they have lost some close games to teams with good guard play, so I would surmise that they are still suspect at the perimeter. Getting Tori back will make them a tough team to play down the stretch, and come postseason. She has had a tough year, what with injuries that marred her soccer season (although she finished strong) and now this to slow her BB season.
  5. Tuesday it really gets fun: Cocke County at Mo West Mo East at Jeff County Greeneville at Cherokee I think Mo West wins a close one at home. Greeneville wins at Cherokee Jeff County wins a close one at home versus Mo East. I heard that Nelson sat out Thursday game, and could be questionable against East. That could even it up for East. In previous years, Cocke County had a tough time on the road, although they have had a couple of big wins this year away from home. Should be a great game... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. I was told at the Halls HOF game to expect no less than 3 weeks for Lacy. From experience with what she has, I would say they will be fortunate to have her back by Jan 1, but that is just me speculating. Anyone know any different?
  7. Jeff County won by 5, but I heard that Sevier County couldn't throw it in the ocean tonight. Good win for Mo West, but they have the guard depth to play full court with a team like South Greene.
  8. so now, after the first week, what does everyone think? And what is going to happen this week?
  9. Gosh Barb, after all the comments the rest of have to put up with about spelling Greeneville correctly. Maybe too much time spent at the Bean Barn? !!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  10. I thought GreenEVILle had a senior wing last year to go with McIntyre and Collins. More of a defensive stopper than a scorer, she still was a steadying presence. If I remember correct, she is who Shipley used to sub in for....
  11. OK, maybe it is time to get back to the ladies playing on the court? I believe there were several IMAC teams playing tonight, how about our intrepid reporters puitting thier observations on here. Conference openers are less than 2 weeks away! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  12. Nope Rob, you post a score, you gotta take the consequences if you are wrong....LOL!!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  13. If you know how to get to the school pages from the home page on this site, the women's schedule has been there for over a week. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to get you a link on here to that page. Sorry about that.
  14. Jeff built a 15 point lead early in the 2nd half, and then had to hold on a little down the stretch. I don't have any stats, but they seemed to miss Lacy Miller. The motion offense they run sometimes ends up with some odd situations, like Huff outside passing to a cutting guard. It looked like they are struggling with the entry pass to open cutters, more a recognition that the cutter is going to be open, than a lack of making the pass. Coach Lewis played a lot of combinations last night, so there is probably a getting used to factor that is involved also. McWilliams did some good things inside, and at times Nelson looked in control, but there were times when she just looked out of sync with the rest of the team. This team lost 4 seniors, 3 of which played a lot of minutes last year, so they are going to need some time to get used to each other. Lyke saw limited minutes, maybe due to the injury that held her out of Tuesday's game.
  15. I appreciate the fact that it is the Greenevlle supporters that are bringing this up. That being said, this is not a new situation. I am certain that every IMAC thread since Crumbley's hire has had a least one very heated discussion about her demeanor on the sidelines, and how she has treated her players. So far, it appears that her winning record has overshadowed that aspect of her coaching traits. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
  16. Would these coaches play this level of competiton if it were a game that counted? Isn't the point of the HOF games to be a fundraiser for TSSSA, and aren't closer matchups more attractive to the unattached fans to go watch? Would Oak Ridge and Webb (Knoxville) play an early season matchup if it counted? JMO.
  17. Maybe becasue they are traveling to Science Hill tonight, and the coach knows that his Varsity are going to play a tough road game? I agree that it would have been nice to play at UT... JMO.
  18. I am betting that the other Soph was Lacy Miller. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  19. I have heard that Jeff beat Seymour (at Jeff) tonight. No details. Toughnut.... Collierville is the Farragut of Memphis and due to the industry, is a very well supported school area. Think Farragut, only smaller area, mostly upper middle to upper class incomes. Nice area. Drag - Greeneville prides itself on in-your-face defense, man mostly, but some zone. A cutter through the lane needs to run with their head on a swivel, becasue nobody goes through the lane unscathed. Dickson is the real deal, the supporting cast will be more than adequate by Dec 11th. If you are patient, and have the ball handlers, you can back door them a lot due to the fact they overplay the passing lanes. I hope you have an agile big person, who can at least get in Dickson's face. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Good luck. PS, if you have not been to Tenn High, you should prepare your girls for an arena more like a small college arena than a High School gym. Big space between baskets and seating, upper level seating behind the goals, bigger place than normal. My daughter thought it was tough place to shoot in. I would plan on more than normal warm-up time, if it is available to you.
  20. No, you had my question correctly diagnosed....
  21. Wow, the thread is at 99 posts! Who is everyone playing next week, when and where? Trottercoach, if they don't know who you are by now, it is a lost cause!!!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> By the way, you never did say whether East had gotten a point guard enrolled!! And about that East loss at home last year to Jeff County, I think each team had 4 or more players foul out. It wasn't that the refs were bad for East, they were just BAD! Oh, I'm sorry, this IS the IMAC! Is Leeper getting any feelers for college?
  22. Wow, my comment was not made as a slam, it was a question, pure and simple. Player's (and parent's) have to make the choices that they think are best at that moment. I have respect for every organization that you mentioned, Select, Trotters, etc. Anybody that will spend their time assisting young people in getting better, and/or exposing thier players to better opportunities (college), gets my support. The Select have become, in a short time, a very solid organization. If you read today's Knox News, you would have noticed that 4 Select ladies signed with colleges yesterday. My congradulations to all of them, especially Lauren Lyke. This is supposed to be a HS thread, so I will leave it at that. As for Ms Acuff, I only hope all the best for her, at Grainger, in AAU wherever that leads her, and on to college, if that what she wants to do. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  23. Nut - I saw where Mo West is playing at Shelbyville tomorrow. Your two opponents should be good indicators...Moore County was in the championship game last year. If you guys get to your 2nd game early, Farragut is playing in front of you. I would like to hear how they look. Kelsey played with a couple of thier girls during her varied AAU life. Good Luck.
