  1. so are you saying you rather have Chacon and Small than Schilling and Wells in the postseason? i dont care how bad they've been, i rather have the guys with the WS experience than a couple of guys that werent even starters at the beginning of the season. just my opinion though, we'll see here real soon which team is better....i still think they'll both be in the playoffs.
  2. and he will...what you Braves fans really need to be worrying about is why Andruw Jones has stopped stroking. its like gettin to 50 was all he was worried about. he's only got 1 hr in his last 10 or 12 games.
  3. dude, do you realize that your agreeing with me here? i dont think they will win but 6 or maybe 7 games, i know they arent good. nowhere on coacht have you ever seen me say they were good, but they sure as heck arent the worst team in the NFL either. and yes Gerry, i seen Pacman get torched all game long, and with the exception of a few guys such as Champ Bailey or Chris Mccalister, Torry Holt would torch them too. he does it every week no matter whose on him. he's right there with Moss and TO so theres never gonna be a rookie cb that can shut him down. dont give me no crap about pressure, they had the heat on Bulger all day long. whats Vanden Bosch got, like 5 sacks already? they are getting heat on the qb and forcing turnovers...last 2 games they scored a defensive td. yall dont have to put words in my mouth, i know they arent gonna have a winning record but they wont have a top 5 draft pick next year either.
  4. yea....that horrible Titans secondary hung with one of the best passing offenses in the NFL today....and they had the composure to make a come back after being down a couple of td's in the 2nd half. say what you want but they arent playing that bad this year. they very easily could have won today if it wasnt for 1 bad throw from McNair, he had Bennett open for what would have been the game winning td but he tried to throw on the run and the ball drifted out of bounds. that young defense is making plays, they are giving up points but if they keep making plays they will give the Titans the opportunity to win most games.
  5. i think Kentucky may be back in the lead for Kemp, he hasnt came out and said that yet but the visit went good. him and Thad Young went to Tubby Smith's house and ate breakfast yesterday...how cool is that. i think he's gonna put his decision off for a little bit to think things through a little more. he's done with his visits though so it shouldnt be long before he makes a committment. UK would be set for a national championship if they could land all 3 of them.
  6. i'd still take Schilling, Clement, Wells, Wakefield, and Arroyo over Chacon, Small, and a hurt Mussina and Brown. they better hope Randy Johnson can go every other game or they'll be done after the first round.
  7. thats crazy, they can win more than that. Texans twice, Cardinals, Raiders, Browns, Dolphins, 49ers. let me reassure you that none of those teams are good. the Jags, Seahawks, and Rams arent great either, they have a shot at the playoffs but i dont think any of them will win more than 9 games. the Titans will be the favorite against the Dolphins, 49ers, Texans(x2), and the Browns(that would make 6 wins) and i'd be willing to bet they will beat the Cardinals(that makes 7) and they could take 1 from the Jags later on when Fragile Fred gets hurt again or they could beat the great 0-2 Raiders(that would make 8). my guess is 7-9....you stick with your 4-12 prediction...you'll eat crow in a few months.
  8. last i checked Willie Parker was running all over everybody. the Steelers are one of those teams that will have a good running game no matter whose in there. there o-line is just that good, just like KC and Denver. how come they have to be lucky? it was a legit win over a banged up Ravens team. the Titans arent THAT bad...McNair was the MVP 2 years ago, Henry and Brown are both former 1000 yard rushers, Bennett has a 1000 yard season under his belt, Bullock and Haynseworth are amongst the best in the league at their positions. they have enough impact players that they wont be 2-14 or anything like that, they will win 6 or 7 games this year...if they avoid injuries 8 wins is a possibilty. P.S. we know the Titans wont make the playoffs, people dont have to keep reassuring us of this.
  9. the Redsox are gonna make the playoffs anyway, i hope. if the Yanks win the east then they should be the wildcard after Chicago finishes up their monumental meltdown. they'll both make the playoffs, as usual, then the Yankees will watch there allstar team go up in smoke to a team with less than half their payroll, as usual. theres a good chance 1 of them wont make it this year though. if either team pulls off a sweep in the final series of the season in Boston the other team will probably be on the outside looking in....hopefully that will be the Yankees watching the games on tv in October .
  10. well at first i heard his visit to Kentucky was canceled but now im hearing that he is gonna make that trip this weekend. either way, according to his mom he will make a decision Monday. Kentucky seems like a long shot since they have backed off and started recruiting another pg harder than him but who knows, he's keepin it on the low thats for sure.
  11. Kemp is supposed to announce which school he will attend next Monday. the 3 finalists are Memphis, Tennessee, and Arkansas. he hasnt cut Kentucky from his list yet either but since he is gonna make his committment before he takes an official to UK it seems like they are pretty muchly out of the race. rumor has it that Memphis is the favorite...after his visit to the Memphis campus this past weekend another 4 star pg(ranked #15 in the country at his position) that had already committed to them reopened his recruitment, i think you can see where im goin with that one. thats just a rumor though, Tennessee is still in the thick of things as well.
  12. i dont think the Titans will win many more this season but give them credit where its due, they pulled off a big upset against a Ravens team that should make they playoffs. Kyle Boller is horrible, the Ravens are just as well off with Wright as their qb so thats not an excuse. neither of them can throw and both make alot of stupid mistakes but atleast Wright can move a little bit. their o-line isnt bad either....they blocked well enough to get Jamal Lewis 2000 yards a couple of years ago and Ogden is probably the best tackle in the NFL. the Titans D shut down Jamal Lewis, sure he was banged up a little bit but he's still 1 of the best rb's in the league. the Titans played good, the Ravens stunk it up...thats all it is to it, no need to make up excuses for the Ravens. i didnt see anybody say the Titans were back either its just 1 game and we all know they dont have the experience, especially on the defensive side of the ball, to play this well all year. they just played a dang good game against a team that should be playoff bound, keep denying it if that makes you feel better.
  13. whatever dude just face the facts, there wont be very many rookies determining the fate of their team this season. there are a few like Ronnie Brown, Cadilac Williams, Demarcus Ware, and Derrick Johnson that will play major rolls but not many. maybe you should just share that crystal ball of yours with every team in the NFL on draft day...or better yet we could sit up a meeting with you and all the coaches so you can tell them which guys will be busts 5 years from now. i need to have you around for my fantasy draft next year...whats Peyton gonna throw for 4257 or 4258? by the way, you know good and well i said the Titans succk! im not denying that, heck i even think they have a good shot at the #1 pick next year. nowhere on this site did you see me say the Titans would have a good season.
  14. nawh it will be the same guys as last year for the most part....but with Kemp and Chism anchoring the team it doesnt take much. look for sophomore Jeremy Rhodes to play a big roll this year and fill the shoes of Olajuwon Kemp without the team ever missing a beat. should be a few classic Bolivar/Liberty matchups this year...preview of the state championship game??? definitely a possibility!
  15. but very few times, if any, has an unranked team started the season with road wins over teams ranked #23 and #3. give Charlie Weis some credit, Tyrone Willingham wouldnt have had a 2-0 record right now. of course them being Notre Dame had something to do with it, i agree with you on that much, but i think any team with a deep history of winning would have recieved the same treatment in the rankings.
  16. sorry GB but thats a bunch of bs, its not just qb's. im not gonna waste my time looking it up to find an exact number but i know off the top of my head 5 of the top 10 picks from last years draft arent starters....#1 qb Alex Smith, #4 rb Cedric Benson, #6 cb Pacman Jones, #7 wr Troy Williamson, #9 or 10? wr Mike Williams...there are about 5 or 6 defensive players taken in the middle/late first round that are sitting on the bench too but you can check that out for yourself if you dont believe me. you see it more on offense than defense but just because you get picked in the first round doesnt mean your gonna be expected to have an impact your rookie year...its never more than 5-10 first rounders that make a serious impact their first season. maybe Woolfolk does continue to stink his whole career....but he wont be the first 1st rounder to be a bust, and he wont be the last. a majority of the starters in the NFL werent 1st rounders anyway....who was the best rb in week 1? undrafted free agent Willie Parker.
  17. i disagree with that. they beat the #23 and #3 ranked teams to start the season. now if a garbage team like East Carolina pulls off 2 upsets like that your right, they wouldnt be ranked #10, but you take any team with a history of winning and that actually has enough talent on their team to make those wins legit and those are proper grounds for a jump from unranked to #10 in two weeks. i dont think its just ND....you could take another history rich school thats been off the map the past few years, like Nebraska for example, and they would have jumped in the rankings just as fast if they would have beat a top 25 and a top 5 team to start the season. if there was any jump in the rankings that was ridiculous that would be TCU jumping in the top 20 just because they beat Oklahoma...atleast Notre Dame has done it twice already showing that their first upset wasnt a fluke.
  18. thats not necessarily true, more so on offense than defense though. the last 3 #1 picks started their season on the bench, heck Carson Palmer never seen the field until his 2nd year. now there are alot of 1st rounders that come in ready to make an immediate impact, but there are also alot of guys drafted on potential and it takes them a couple of years to get things goin. i'll agree with you on this much though, if he doesnt start to show some signs of an improvement over the course of this season his window of opportunity will be closing quickly!
  19. Pitt and Michigan shouldnt even be in the same sentence. maybe ther werent the 3rd best team in the country but they are still top 10, every year. plus ND won on the road in one of the toughest stadiums to play in. Weis just simply outcoached Michigan cause they definitely arent as talented.
  20. he's only 25, plenty of time left for him to become a good corner.
  21. lol catfish i dont think it was necessary to include Kyle Petty in your list of drivers that didnt make the chase....that shouldnt surprise anybody
  22. you cant help but respect Charlie Weis as a coach, even if your a Michigan or Colts fan....the man simply knows how to win. i never dreamed they would knock off two top 25 times to start the season, especially not Michigan, but they did. i dont think he can keep this up all season but just imagine what he will do a few years from now after he brings in a couple of top 5 recruiting classes...national championship? that would be my guess. im glad to see him succeed after being hid in the shadow of Belichick the past few years, its pretty clear to see that he was a crucial part in those Super Bowl runs.
  23. you can hate on him now, but you know the kid has game breaker ability. the holdout killed any chance of him having an impact early on but give him time and he'll make that trip to Hawaii for the probowl a few times in his career. i dont see how anyone can doubt the Titans draft choices when you look at the other defensive studs they've took in the first round in recent years...Javon Kearse and Keith Bullock turned out alright dont you think? Pacman should be right there with them in a year or 2.

    Jeff Gordon

thanks Gordon, atleast now i wont have to catch heck from all my buddys about Earnhardt Jr not making the chase. i bet Nascar is hating this....the 2 most popular drivers both missed the chase for the cup, alot of crappy ratings coming soon!
