  1. If you are looking for one of the most organized tournaments in southeast Tennessee...Look no further...We have been running tournaments for 8 years now and we know what we are doing. This tournament is 4th grade - high school boys and girls. 6 gyms. You will not show up and be playing teams not in your age group. That is GUARANTEED. TSSAA certified officials. We had over 70 teams in the field last year. You need to hurry because 40 teams have already committed. For more information email me at [email protected] or call Tony at 423-368-5377.

  3. I guess since I was born in Lenoir City...I grew up in Lenoir City...Graduated from Lenoir City High School...(Getting ready for my 20 year reunion this summer) I probably have a right to follow LC athletics as long as I want to. Facts are facts... Lenoir City has gone through 8 coaches in basketball in 6 years... Three of which were removed (myself included) The others left on their own. I know Joe Lee and myself would have stayed there as long as we could have because we had pride in the Lenoir City community...The Lord took care of me and I ended up in a better place, so I am not bitter. I am actually sadened by the continual turnover that those kids have to experience year in and year out. I built deep relationships with the younger kids who are still in the program and I hate it for them.
  4. Please keep my name out of any discussion associated with Lenoir City athletics....Thank you...
  5. Athletic Director at Rhea County is Micah Ruehling. [email protected] Rhea County returns leading scorer and all district player Jalen Smith. They also have their second leading scorer back. JV went 6-1 over their last 7 games...They split with Bradley, Walker Valley, McMinn, and Cleveland this year. Freshmen had an over-all record of 11-6. Program has a bright future for a young energetic coach looking to work hard.
  6. 12:30 vs a physical Kentucky team.
  7. The Mavericks have some really good players and should be fine once these guys get their cohesiveness back. It is really hard to just inject two players into the lineup after missing that many games. People become unsure of their roles and it takes some time. I wouldn't want to face them when Coach Wallace gets them clicking.
  8. Played Stone last night and they didn't have any trouble making outside shots, hitting 9 3's. If any AA team in East TN can play with them, I will be shocked. They are very, very good. Maybe CAK, Fulton, or Alcoa, but not when Stone is hitting.
  9. I was not intending to imply that the previous staff played people because of who their parents are. I was just stating that Davis definately would never do that. I also think Mike Davis would have one set of rules, and he would stick to them. I think that is an area that kills most coaches. You can't have one set of rules for your studs and another set of rules for your duds. That kills a team more than anything. Again, I'm not saying the previous staff was guilty of that, I'm just saying that Davis definately wouldn't...
  10. Guess you would never know what kind of job anyone would do until they were given the opportunity.
  11. After working with Mike Davis for a few years in the basketball world, and beside him as a teacher, I think he would be a great fit. Organization, and discipline is top notch and he doesn't care who your Momma and Daddy is or what they think. Everyone is the same in his eyes and you can win with a guy like that. He has paid his dues and I think would do well running the program.
  12. Guys I'm just stirring the pot a little...Don't get so testy...I still don't think Andy would be a likely candidate for the job...I maybe wrong...Oh by the way, at least I don't hide behind a keyboard and talk junk behind a screen name where nobody can see me...I don't see them firing me anytime soon, because I care about kids and I work hard...That's a hard combination to beat...I hope they bring in someone good for the kids and the community...That's what is most important...That's the part all you haters didn't see in the previous staff... They cared about kids and the community...I also stand corrected Crompton wore the legendary #8, not Ainge...
  13. If by your photo of Eric Ainge in the number 8 Tennessee jersey you are implying that Andy Kelly will be the coach, I would seriously doubt it. That would cut way too deep into his golf time and last I checked he doesn't teach, which is a requirement for head coaches in our state...Try again...
  14. Would the movie deals say anything about Jimmy Whitby?
  15. If Siegel struggled to beat Cleveland then Bearden will beat Siegel by double digits.
  16. This is definately not a surprise for anyone who knows basketball. Stone Memorial is a really good team when they play well. Do they have off nights where weaker teams can beat them? Sure...But all in all they are as good as anyone when they are on their game. Congrats to Coach Buck and Coach Capps and good luck in the semi's...
  17. The rule has been upgraded this year...You have to keep your shirt tucked in as long as you are on the court...If you foul out, you must keep your shirt tucked in until you are completely off the court...If you yank your shirt out as you are walking off the court it is supposed to be an immediate technical...Sounds to me like the ref let him off the hook by telling him to tuck his shirt back in, and he made a poor decision to argue...Then that snowballed into 10 free throws.. Rules are rules...They aren't just rules when they benefit you...You don't just follow rules when they are convenient...If you try to live life that way you are selfish and have no discipline...Sorry, but I side with the officials completely on this one.
  18. I think this is a bigger rivalry to Rhea County fans than it is to Cleveland. Cleveland has a bigger rivalry with Bradley, McMinn, and Walker Valley than with Rhea County...Truth be told Rhea County doesn't have a true rival. Sure we hate Cleveland but they hate the others more than us.
  19. He has a chance to be a really nice player...Though only a sophomore, he can put the ball in the hole...
  20. Congrats to Jalen as he exploded for 46 points in the Cleveland Rocky Top league. That is good news for the basketball Eagles. It could be his coming out performance, and maybe the beginning of great things for this young man.
