  1. For you Temple fans -- check out this video from Temple's win over Monterey. Temple vs. Monterey Video
  2. Sorry about that. I did not intentionally leave him out. And so, Dee, here ya go brother!! Here's the man in action. Dee, you did a great job on Friday night!! Here's the Highlight of the Night video from Channel 3's Friday Night Football Show: mms://media1.winworld.cc/wrcb/11-03-06highlightWinWorld001.wmv Just copy and paste the above link into your address bar and press enter or go to view the video.
  3. Erik Larson (Temple) 2241 passing yards (29 touchdowns) (203.7 yards per game)
  4. Seth Skogen 81 catches for 1597 yards 22 TD's (145 yards per game)
  5. Well, first things first. Since the Monterey/Temple thread has been eliminated: Great game Temple against Monterey on Friday night. You guys made some great adjustments on defense in the second half (holding Monterey scoreless) and showed that you are one of the best (if not the best) football teams in 1A. 410 yards rushing and 263 yards passing. Scoring 33 points in the second half. Joey Skogen, you had an awesome game, man! 9 carries for almost 200 yards and two touchdowns!! You also had like 18 tackles on the night as well. Great job, dude! Seth Skogen had 7 receptions for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns. Way to go, Seth! Mr. Ridley had 12 carries for 142 yards and 2 touchdowns. Great game, Kameron! And what can you say about the line? You guys are getting better all the time! You all had a few struggles in the first half, but you came out in the second half and played with lots of toughness and tenacity! Great job, fellas! And Josh Smith! You had a awesome game with close to 100 yards on the ground (one run for 62 yards) and a touchdown! The paper didn't show it, but I believe you must have had over 20 tackles in the game, as well. It seemed like your name was called over the PA system on every defensive play. Good going, Randy!! You're a BEAST!!! And let me just say thanks to the coaching staff, as well. You guys are the best coaches around. God bless you all for what you have done and what you are doing with these fellas! Temple is very blessed to have you all as coaches. Coach Kell, we missed you last night! Congratulations on your award in the College Hall of Fame and the recognition before the Tenn/LSU game. We are so grateful to have you on the coaching staff, this year. Thanks a million! The fans and family of Temple Football will be praying for you guys as you continue your quest for the 1A Championship. Take care of business one game at a time and play hard!! Show the rest of the state of Tennessee that you guys are for real. Looking forward to the game against Trousdale.
  6. Getting back to the topic at hand. One of the best Linebackers I've seen in 1A is Josh Smith of Temple. I think he has around 130 tackles on the year.
  7. I would say that Josh Smith of Temple would have to be one-- seeing that he leads the city of Chattanooga in tackles. Tyler Cooper of Notre Dame is another good defensive player, along with Chris Harr. Michael Welch of Ooltewah would probably have to be on that list, as well.
  8. yeah, you're right -- Temple has no chance. I guess someone like yourself from SP would say something like that -- seeing that you guys got drilled by them. So, we would have to assume that the Pirates have no chance either, right?
  9. Here's a nice video of Josh Smith of Temple running for a touchdown against Grace. The video is from Channel 3 in Chattanooga. Just copy and paste the link in your address bar to view. mms://media1.winworld.cc/wrcb/10-27-06highlightWinWorld001.wmv
  10. Should be an interesting ballgame in the rain, but Temple should prevail. 42-18
  11. Coach T, Temple's Josh Smith should be considered as a Mr. Football candidate as a Middle Linebacker. He is a 4.0 student and leading his team in tackles (114 in 8 games). That means he is averaging over 14 tackles per game. The 6'2, 240 lb. linebacker also plays fullback for the Crusaders and is averaging about 80 yards rushing in a backfield that has two running backs who are averaging more than 100 yards per game. Against the #2 team in the state in 1A (South Pittsburg), last week, he had a 17 tackle performance (along with 12 carries for 95 yards) and last night he had 15 tackles against Copper Basin. He is a great leader on the field and is the backbone of a team that is now 9-0. His coach says "he is a devastating lead blocker" and when he looks "at tape and sees a massive hit, most of the time it is Josh." The Senior Linebacker has been with the Crusader football team ever since its inception. He is one of the best football players I've ever seen in class 1A and should definitely be a finalist for Mr. Football.
  12. Oh -- let me break it down for you: Seth Skogen -- 6 catches for 111 yards Josh Smith -- 12 carries for 95 yards Joey Skogen -- 12 carries for 93 yards Kameron Ridley -- 11 carries for 81 yards Total (let me get my calculator out) = 380 yards Where are the other 99 yards? I'll have to get back with you on that one, but I think there are a couple other guys on the team that did something in that game, surely?
  13. Well, let's see . . . I guess that's why we put up 214 yards passing and ran the ball for 265 yards against the #2 team in the state last week? I think that comes to what? 479 total yards for the game? Maybe that's how we scored 53 points against South Pittsburg? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that those are legitimate numbers.
  14. So, are you saying that Temple doesn't have 5 guys with over 9 tackles per game? We're not talking about solo tackles. For instance, Josh Smith had 17 tackles in the game against South Pitt last week. 6 of those were solo tackles and 11 of them were assisted. If you would like, I'd be glad to show you the tapes of the game so you can count them.
  15. Don't fool yourself. SP is still a good football team.
  16. Not quite as bad as Trousdale's romp last year 91-0 but I think it is definitely uncalled for. Friendship beat them 61-0 last week. And so, it appears to be the thing to do. Watertown beat RBS 76-7 tonight.
  17. I would say that part of the reason for the outcome of the Taft game is that the Smith kid was out for Temple with an injury in that game and at least one other. When you don't have him at MLB it makes a huge difference. I can't give much of an explanation about the Silverdale game other than they are mch better than they were at the beginning of the year (as is the case with may teams). They seemed to be a very disciplined team and ran the ball well againt Temple. Whatever the case, Skogen is a very good player and will play ball somewhere on Saturdays. I really don't think it matters to him whether it is a big school or a smaller school. He just wants to play. I would also say that he should be the frontrunner for Mr. Football award in 1A.
  18. How could you not have Temple on the list?
  19. I would sort of compare him to a Jeff Samardzija of Notre Dame. He has great athletic abilities, strong, and with good speed. He is a receiver that posses excellent concentration and hands, who is more physical than one would think against defenders, that allows him to gain an advantage on defenders during game action, he is also more effective after the catch with (YAC) yards after catch. He seems to display great confidence in what he does on the field and is a playmaker. He is definitely a go to guy and should do well in college. Let's put it this way, he scored a couple of touchdowns after the injury. So, he should be ok.
  20. No ONE? That's a pretty bold statement to make.
