1. I'm with you Gomab. How could you leave Long off the finalists. Jewuan is a player that you can count on game in and game out to produce whatever you need during the game. He is a natural born leader and can take over a game in the blink of an eye. With that being said he is my favorite to win the award this year.
2. 1. Liberty 2. Bolivar 3. South Side 4. McNairy 5. Lexington 6. Chester Co. 7. Camden
3. I didn't mean to leave Haywood off the list but from what I'm hearing I might want them to replace MLK on my list. Gomab, the small guard from BTW you are thinking of is Patrick Lee.
4. That is 2006 State Tournament MVP Jewuan Long. He is only 6'1 but can take off from far out and throw it down.
5. I mean if you have a different opinion please tell me. I do go there but it is also my opinion that they are and will be on top again this year.
6. I wanted to start a topic that there are a lot of opinions on so here is my top 10. 1. Liberty Tech.- (Return 4 starters from last years 34-3 AA State Championship team and it helps that the player that is filling the starting spot happens to be Josh Sain who is ranked the number 8 player in the state according to Tennessee Prep Hoops) 2. Raleigh Egypt- (Return 4 starters from a team that made a final four appearance in last years AAA state tournament. Maurice Miller will lead the way for this team and when you have that you have a key ingridient for success.) 3. Hamilton- (Lost two key starters from last years undefeated team but return one of the best senior classes in the state with Strong, Hunter, and Gilchrist. They aren't going to be as big as last year but they will definitely still be very fast.) 4. Bradley Central- (They have height with Groothius and Dodd, and they have the sharp shooting Terrence Oglesby. They have a very good senior class that is primed and ready to take Central back to the promised land) 5. Ridgeway- (So much talent back form last years squad that it is hard to keep the Roadrunners out of the top 5.) 6. MLK- (This team has always been in the running to make it to state the past couple of years and with Gerald Robinson having his recruitment out of the way he will be ready to lead them to make a run for the gold ball.) 7. White Station- (Still very young but are also experienced because they only lose 1 senior off last years team and want everyone to recognize that they are still White Station and you better come ready to play this young and energetic team.) 8. Brentwood Academy- (They lost Brandan Wright to North Carolina and Josh Bone to Southern Illinois but still return a lineup more than capable to win the 5th straight Division 2 title. Let's face it these guys know how to win and will do a good job at it.) 9. Craigmont- (The surprise team. They return a lineup that has size, speed, and athleticism. They will be lead by junior Terrico White, and seniors Josh Street and Gabriel McCulley. They will be a force to be reckoned with come tourney time.) 10. Bolivar Central- (Their Bolivar and they don't rebuild, they reload. Granted they are young but they also have lots of experience and Rick Rudesil will get them ready for whatever they are going to go up against this year.)
7. Some of them maybe moved to the Oman Arena in Jackson closer to the season but Brentwood travels to Jackson as does White Station. Haywood and Liberty play two games and they will play one at Liberty and one in Haywood. The rest of the games are being played on the road by the Crusaders.
8. Pick any of Liberty's non-district games. They play Raleigh Egypt, White Station, Ridgeway, Brentwood Academy, Haywood, Mitchell, and last but not least Oak Hill.
9. Liberty Tech will be playing in the tournament this year.
10. Let everyone keep thinking that. I like that your defending us but we are used to being doubted. The player that he was referring to was Brandon Evans and Brandon was a very good player but who won the State Tournament MVP? Jewuan Long, he and his supporting cast twin brother Antwan Long, Josh Sain, Anthony Sampson, and Devon Jones will be more than ready to take on anybody and I mean ANYBODY. Liberty probably won't beat Oak Hill but definitely don't count them out just yet. Has anybody ever thought that Coach Williams might be wanting to keep his defending state champion team from getting the big head? Just a thought.
11. Devon Jones and Jewuan Long of Liberty
12. i will post the full schedule soon
13. They will be in AA this year and will move up to AAA next year
14. This year Liberty plays the toughest schedule in the state hands down. They play in two of the most competitive tournaments in the nation, the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Florida and the Arby's Classic in Bristol, TN. They also have a game against Alton, Illinois in the Marshall County Hoopfest. They play one other tough out of state team and that would be none other than Oak Hill. Oak Hill and the Crusaders will square off in Brstol, Virginia at Virginia High School on Jan. 26. They also play a very tough in state non-district schedule, they play White Station, Raleigh Egypt, Ridgeway, Mitchell, Brentwood Academy, and Haywood. The Crusaders record will probably not be as good as it was last year but the will definitely be battle tested when Feburary and March roll around.
15. Dexter Williams of Liberty is a great young coach who already has a state championship under his belt
16. Jackson has two very talented teams in the 18u division. The Tennessee Stars and the Jackson Storm should compete with pretty much anyone
17. What area do you live in? Or how far would you travel.
18. Liberty High School in Jackson, you know I think they won state
19. We move up in the 07-08 school year. That would just mean that you would have to play us in basketball and baseball in the coming years.
20. Scotty Hopson-6'5 or 6'6, can shoot, handle, and leap out of the gym, he needs to improve his ball handling skilss and add strength and will have a great future
21. I don't think that JCS will score that many runs on Crocker. Crocker is a good pitcher that is on fire right now but I do expect them to rattle him a little bit.
22. I think JCS has a real bad taste in their mouth from the loss to Adamsville and their bats will come alive against Huntingdon. Greg Wood pitches very well in pressure situations and this will be the biggest game of his young career. JCS wins 5-2
23. Anderson Co. White House USJ David Libscomb Lexington Pigeon Forge Covington Goodpasture
24. Matt Haynes and Brian Ferrell of Liberty
