  1. littleo its simple really...you want to watch great girl's basketball, pack it up and make a trip to West TN! Great coaches, great players, great teams, and great fans! I'm not trying to take anything away from girl's basketball in other areas but I feel that it's best in the West! Hopefully Westview and Gibson County will prove that to you with a rematch for the title...be there for that one!
  2. If Westview comes ready to play, they WILL win! Hoping for a Westview-GC rematch for that gold ball! Good luck girls!
  3. I haven't been to a game in Camden since I was riding the bus taking that pre game nap on the way, so I'm in need of some directions to the stadium coming from Martin if anyone can help me out.
  4. This should be a great game. Camden won a tough game against Westview earlier in the season but Westview is on a roll and seems to be playing great ball at the moment. Westview has had a bit of a history of exiting in the 2nd round over the past 5 or 6 years but I believe this is the year they get over the hump. This team doesn't look like its ready to quit playing this year so I'm taking them in an upset by 3 over Camden. The key for Westview is containing that running attack of the Lions. If they are successful stopping the run and limit their turnovers they should have a shot! Good luck to both teams!
  5. Honestly, did you watch the game? Lost their punch? Ask Huntingdon and anybody else that attended that game if Westview has lost their punch. I bet you will be overwhelmed with the answer of NO! This Westview team may have a bigger and better punch than that of the Westview teams of the past few years. This was a great game played between 2 great programs. Trust me Westview has not lost their punch at all and that game proved it! Great game and good luck to both teams thru out the year!
  6. Lets see.... Westview over Huntingdon Dyersburg over Dyer Co. Haywood over JCM Humboldt over Gibson Co. Covington over Frayser Fulton Co. over Obion Co. Milan over JCS Crockett Co. over Bolivar Ripley over Northside Good luck to all the teams!
  7. Westview looks to be doing pretty well. Their offense looked very very good against Dyer County a couple of weeks ago, but their defense definitely showed some holes. Having to replace their assistant coach who was running that defense may slow them down. There offense is good in all departments, with a very big and strong offensive line, a very impressive jr. qb, a senior back that can fly in the open field, and a receiving core that looks pretty solid and athletic. It should be another good season for Coach Coady's club. Interested to see how they do under the lights in the jamboree tonight!
  8. The departure of Griggs will be a big void that needs to be filled, but with your young QB who was playing extremely well before getting injured last year and a core of young players that gained a lot of much needed game time experience last year, they should be a force to reckon with...we will have to see who fills that RB void first! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. This region is definitely loaded and filled with talent. After Gibson Co. and Westview's performances this year, I would have to say they are the favorites out of this region, but you never know with such a big group of outstanding teams. It should be a fun season to watch next year! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. Congrats GC on a perfect season! It is not easy to do in a district that holds 2 of the areas top teams in Westview and Obion County with 2 of the state's top players in Amber Rechis and Chassidy Fussell. With the line up they have returning next year and Coach McMillan calling the shots, it wouldn't be a surprise if I am saying this again next year! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. This will be a good game but I'm liking Westview! Jacob and Davell Lloyd are 2 tough players on the offensive and defensive ends of the court, if both stay out of foul trouble and Dillion Gardner continues to shoot the ball well off of the bench, Westview will win! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  12. TOPDOLLAR you are right about Dresden sports, they have a lot of potential but nobody in the town cares anymore after so many losing seasons. I am not a fan from Dresden, I am from there rival Westview, but my dad is from Dresden and played baseball, basketball, and football while at Dresden and was able to earn a scholarship and go play college ball and he thinks they same way as you! With coaches, a good sports program, and a supportive community Dresden could easily get back to its winning ways. They are not short on talent at all, look at all the athletes that have come through there lately like Kaci Bailey, Matt Vallee, Randy Williams, Matt Hewitt, Wil Levister, Tyson Wright, Justin Coleman, and the list goes on! All had the potential to be great players because of size and athletic ability, some are playing college ball and some are not because of a poor system thats not being looked at! Dresden needs a change in the worst way and hopefully someone will step up and take on the challenge! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. MVP is really up for grabs! All 3 guys had great years and are worthy of being MVP! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. Dillon Gardner and Jacob Lloyd are 2 sophmores at Westview that are going to be big time players over the next couple of years! Jacob has been starting since he was a freshman and is really a superstar type player. Dillon is lights out from behind the arc coming off of the bench this year. He is a wonderful talent and it would not surprise me if he ended up in Coach Haskins starting line up by the end of the year! Look out for these 2 players over the next couple of years! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. I was highly impressed with both teams in this game and the outcome was as I expected! These 2 teams can score at will! I started a topic on here last season about the potential of this game. It was a great game but not would it could have been if this was played the previous year! Nevertheless, it was fun to watch and good luck to both teams down the road! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. 90 pounds? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> You could have been a little more reasonable and said 190 lbs! But this is my first comment since the game and all I have to say is congratulations on a good season Westview and congrats to the seniors on good careers, I look forward to more out of the underclassmen next year! Way to compete in a game everyone felt you had no shot in! Milan....keep winning and bring that gold ball back to the west! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  17. I remember that game well...it was a disaster and a great way to slow down a team led by quick and shifty Markei Guy! There was another rain bowl a couple of years back in Milan in 2006. It rained a the wind whipped all night long on the bitterly cold night. Westview fumbled on there opening drive and gave Milan great field position. Milan capitalized one play later for what would be the final score of the game. Milan 7 Westview 0.....there have been a lot of good Westview-Milan memories in the rain now that I think about it! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. This should be a great game with all of the momentum that Gleason has right now! I am hoping that Gleason can come through with a victory but it might be tough against a good Lake County team! Good Luck to both teams! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. No need for the insult. If you take a look back in this thread you will see some Westview fans have posted. Also most of them while rooting for their team have picked the Dawgs to when the game and are rooting for them to bring the gold ball back to West. So don't knock a fans that are supporting yall as well as our team! Good luck to Milan and I hope Westview pulls out the upset! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  20. Dresden is not in need of a new coach. I believe Hewitt was just hired this year! To me it seems as if the will and desire to play football in Dresden is just not there anymore. Dresden needs something to fire up the town and get them in the football spirit again! The kids want a reason to play football. Make football fun for the kids again! Nobody wants to play in a system that is no fun and losing all the time! My hat goes off to this years team who suffered through a rough season this year after seeing their play maker and starting QB quit during the summer! It's not the coaches fault, the blame is on the town and school, make kids want to play again! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  21. Surprised not to see Jobronski Gilbert's name on that list, but he still has next season! Jake Overbey is a worthy choice. He is one of the best QBs I have seen play this year, and I hear he is just a sophomore which gives him many more opportunites at the Mr. Football Award and could make USJ tough for a couple of more years! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  22. The Mustangs ripped through USJ last week and will do the same thing to JCS this week! Good Luck Stangs! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  23. Well I just did this a few weeks back and nothing has changed! I have been saying it all year long, its Milans year! I expect to see Milan take this game, but i'm hoping the Chargers will put up a good fight and send these seniors off well! But I'm rooting for the Chargers and the upset! You felt the embarrasment in Week 10 now lets come out and play some good ball this week, Win or Go Home! Good Luck Chargers! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  24. Westview QB is the 2nd string QB. The starter broke his ankle in the Henry Co. game. He started the year as one of the starting safeties and was alternating at RB. The #89 was kinda given to him because when he came in as a freshman his older brother was wearing #88. But yes, his mechanics are not the best but he is helping Westview win games and that is all you can ask of him. He is not a QB and he along with the rest of Westview's coaches, players, and fans know that but he was the only option and he is doing a mighty fine job. Behind him is 2 freshman, so you take your pick. A junior who has played a small amount of QB in his career, or 2 freshman who have never seen a bit of Varsity football? I think Coach Coady made the right decision! Good luck to both teams! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  25. Anything can happen on a cold Friday night! I wouldn't crown them until, the final whistle of that 15th game is blown and they are being handed that gold ball! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
