  1. I started on the 2006 Farragut squad that played against Northwestern in this tournament. We struggled with the much larger field compared to the football field we played on at home. Also, the Northwestern players were freaks of nature. They were really good.
  2. Even though the conditions were miserable we all had a good time. I'm glad I could be a part of the game and look forward to next year! Hopefully the weather is better next time, as I'm pretty sure more people would have come out if it was sunny.
  3. 3 of Farragut's starting defenders were out due to injury. Sweeper, right back, and left back if I'm correct - Palucci, Meuth, and Mitchell Ishmael.
  4. The Farragut vs Bearden first annual alumni game is this saturday at 4pm at Farragut - tickets are $7 at the door and all money/donations raised will go toward a scholarship fund created in Brooke Culbreth's name. Brooke passed away last year and this game is to celebrate her life and her years of service to the boys soccer team. This should be an entertaining game and all of the money goes into her fund - coming out to watch would show tremendous support for Brooke's family, friends, and all of the players.
  5. Farragut lost 3 starting seniors from last year, stopper, midfielder, and keeper. The fact is when you're fielding 8/11 STARTERS from the previous year a team is going to be successful. I haven't been to any games this year, but I've heard some things and I will definitely be at the game friday. I've heard Jake Holt has been solid in the midfield with Russell, and of course no one can ignore Backstrom up top. Greene is an excellent keeper and I'm anxious to see how he has improved since last year. Farragut has given up minimal goals due to losing nobody (bar Lawson) in the back. I'm saying Farragut winning 3-1; Bearden will get frustrated and resort to long balls - it's usually what happens. Oh and anybody who can make the Farragut Bearden alumni game on Saturday, it starts at 4pm at Farragut - the money goes to a terrific cause and it should be an entertaining game. (Turner "handpicked" his team LOL)
  6. Yes, Bearden can. We (Farragut) left the fields with about 10 mins left in this game and Bearden was up 3-0
  7. We knew going down there we weren't going to get much in the way of the refereeing, but I must say the official did a very good job keeping both teams' players in check. Both PKs for us, and SH's PK were legitimate calls, neither team contested those due to the fact that they were PK worthy. Every bump or semi-collision outside of our box a free kick was called. Marques is NOT exaggerating when he says there were atleast 15 free kicks 1-5 yards outside our 18. Anything on SH's end was 'play on' according to the ref. Eddie's shot was beautifuly placed, and it was taken I'd say at the 20 or 21. It was a tough game to ref, and there were some questionable calls, but all in all he did the best he could and that's all you can ask.
  8. Both Farragut PKs were for good reason, blatant and nasty fouls inside the box seen by the ref. Science Hill got a PK after a ball had been cleared and 2 players collided inside Farragut's box - at this point the ref was going to call anything in the box for a PK. Science Hill Toppers should be changed to Science Hill Floppers because they dive so much. All I can say is Science Hill your karma came back and bit you in the butt. How does it feel?
  9. Of course we refused to play you at 7, it's our graduation.
  10. He rolled his ankle pretty bad
  11. If we EVER have Chuck for a game here at Farragut, it's guranteed there is going to be some controversy. Chuck hates Farragut, and will do whatever he can to be the center of attention in every game. He simply loves to confrontation. So to say a game reffed by Chuck at farragut was decided by him, in our favor, is ludacris. Refs do have some impact on the game, but a great example is our game against West. There were some HORRIBLE calls against us, resulting in both of their goals. But did it decide the game? No. We came back, picked our heads up, and won.
  12. All that matters is we won. yeah the officiating was aweful, but we're going on to play Bearden on thursday.
  13. Joseph Muth on Farragut, starting right back. Incredible in the air, has scored 5 or 6 this year on corners alone, and plays huge in the back.
