  1. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets for Sunday's games at LP Field in Nashville. 3rd Place Game: Guatemala v. Canada 1 PM (CT) Championship game: USA v. Honduras 4 PM (CT) It doesn't look like I'm going to be able to use my tickets and I'm trying to sell them. I'm in Chattanooga, so anyone in this area interested in catching the future of our National Team play for a championship or just interested in seeing some great young players live, please email me @ riversml@hotmail.com. I have a pair of front row tickets about tens yards from the midfield stripe (GREAT SEATS). I'm just trying to get what I paid for them - selling the pair for $100. SECTION 111, ROW A, SEATS 15 & 16. Please contact me by Saturday afternoon if interested. Thanks!
  2. I agree, credit goes to the Chargers. They definitely appeared to be the better prepared team tonight and were much more organized and hungry. CSAS just came out flat and never really found their stride. There is a history of struggles against the Chargers and they continued tonight as the Patriots appeared more concerned with trying not to lose their first game of the season, rather than dictating the pace and playing to win. Apparently, playing in the larger and weaker of the two A/AA districts came back to haunt CSAS. Hats off to them for a great regular season and best of luck to all of the Chattanooga teams in the State tournament.
  3. Obviously you either don't know much about soccer or these teams...I'd say all 4 teams remaining are fairly even and to call CCS garbage and CSAS overrated simply makes no sense. If anyone is overrated it's Boyd because they are ranked fairly high in the State despite not playing a very tough schedule, there only good results are the win over Sweetwater and tie vs. Soddy...they tied East Ridge and lost to both CSAS and Grace...Grace is probably playing the best soccer of the bunch right now, but it should be interesting. Don't underestimate CCS because of their record they played a tough schedule and are playing well at the right time, plus I believe those guys will play the hearts off to send Coach Stanton off right.
  4. Just interested to hear some peoples opinions on how things will end up in A/AA in Chattanooga on the way to state...Here are the district semis: Boyd-McMinn Grace-Sweetwater CSAS-East Ridge CCS-Hixson I'd have to say that Boyd and Grace are likely favorites in the top district and CSAS and CCS in the bottom, but anything could happen this year the teams are a lot more even than in the past. How do you think things will play out moving on the Regions and who will eventually make it to Memphis?

    CSAS

I think it will be a close game, could go in either teams favor...I'll go with CSAS 1-0, they're playing very well right now.
  6. I think this will be an intense and physical game and will be a close one with the style of play determining the result, if the style is extremely direct then I see a 0-0 tie or a 1-0 Boyd win, if however the teams try to knock the ball around and build forward then I'll give the advantage to Grace 1 or 2 - 0...we'll see what happens should be interesting...what are the ramifications of this game for district tournament seedings, does Boyd already have it wrapped up?
  7. I agree that Hume Fogg is definitely overrated, losing 8-1 to anybody...I also believe that Sweetwater is overrated and that Boyd is ranked too high based on the strength of their schedule, but we all know they don't take that into account...all that matters as far as the rankings are concerned is records, but that will all play out in a few weeks, I won't be surprised if as many as 3 or 4 of the so-called top 11 don't make it out of their district or region tournaments.
  8. I realize Boyd is ranked #3 in A/AA, but they have yet to play anything close to a quality opponent other than maybe Sweetwater and that is a couple individuals, nothing I'd consider to be a good team. It should be an interesting game. I'd say the field conditions will probably give Boyd a bit of an edge as they are the more physical team, but that's no excuse. I'm going to go with an upset, CSAS 2-1.
  9. The game is Friday 7PM at CCS
  10. Both teams are down from last year, but this always proves to be an exciting match...who do you think will win?
  11. I agree with you, talentwise CCS should probably be at least as high as 3 or 4 and CSAS should probably be high than Hume Fogg, but like I said I didn't want to take anything away from teams that turned it on and got results in the postseason. And honestly I never saw Livingston Academy either, but I was taking some people's word for it.
  12. Anyone know the date that the Times Free Press Best of Preps Boy's Soccer is supposed to come out in the paper here? I know they usually tell you when you go and get your picture taken, just wondering if anyone knew. Also, any predictions or comments on who should be included, Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year...just curious as a Chattown soccer fan.
  13. Taking into consideration the post-season as well as reality, I'd have to say: 1. CAK 2. Lenoir City 3. FRA 4. Hume Fogg 5. CSAS 6. CCS 7. Sheffield 8. Westview 9. Columbia Academy 10. Livingston Academy I know a lot of people will gripe about the order and I think that I'm being generous to some teams just because they lasted longer than others, but taking that into consideration this is how I see it.
  14. I believe Jake Dougher from Baylor is going to Sewanee. And Drew Courtney from CCS comitted to Lander (SC), along with the CCS keeper and Gabe Weaver their CM going to Covenant. Any other Chattanooga kids not listed going on to play in college?
  15. Hey importkid, Way to really prove your point about no more excuses by bringing up your sectional loss AGAIN and complaining about your inability to finish. Actually, I saw the sectional match and if you are counting total shots then it was pretty even, but as far as shots on goal go CSAS outshot you guys about 8-4. That was a very ugly match with both teams missing some good opportunities, so why don't you take your own advise and shut up and move on to next year.
  16. that's good to know hurt, although I'm beginning to question whether you should've since he's obviously saying you think your among the top 11 players in west TN, not still in the 11th grade.
  17. Honestly anything could happen, although I feel that CAK is probably the better team by at least 9-10 goals....CSAS should have won by 2-3 easily, but they couldn't get any breaks against Sheffield who did a good job of getting them out of their normal possession game with their unorthodox style of play. Good luck to all teams remaining. Although, I'd be truly surprised if Sheffield kept it closer than 3 or 4.
  18. I think it's a good possibilty, although I'm not sure it's warranted...I'm not saying that he isn't a very good coach, but with the huge talent pool he has I'm not sure how much of their success is coaching...I feel there are some other coaches who deserve a look as well for pulling together less talented teams and that it shouldn't be based on which team has the best record from the area, but we'll see how things turn out here in a few weeks.
  19. I've heard a lot about FRA, LC, CAK, and some of the top teams...but what about the lesser known teams like Sheffield? ANy info or predictions?
  20. I know that they have a good record and seemed to hang with Page and Columbia Academy for the most part this year, but the rest of their schedule seems pretty weak. Any info on them, what type of team they are? They play at CSAS Saturday night at 7PM for the A/AA sectional match.
  21. I know this game won't be over for a few more hours, but please post with a result as soon as someone knows. CSAS will host the runner-up and CCS will travel to the winner.
  22. Just to let everyone know CSAS won today over CCS. The score at the end of regulation was 2-2. CSAS won in a shootout (3-2). CCS played an excellent game dominating the first half finishing up 2-0 and CSAS woke up and came back to draw even in the second half. And they were able to finish it off in PKs. Congrats to CSAS and good luck to both teams in sectionals on Saturday.
  23. Farview beat Cascade 2-1 in OT, I believe I saw it on one of the other threads, I don't have any info though.
  24. My best of preps would be as follows: Jared Price - McMinn J.D. Moss - Grace Drew Courtney - CCS Criss Golden - Ooltewah Gabe Weaver - CCS Chris Love - McCallie Rob Carden - ND Jake Dougher - Baylor Trevor Owens - CSAS Kevin Rose - Hixson Robby Mitchell - ND
  25. I agree that the refs were poor, but I think that went both ways and in the end they weren't really a deciding factor. If you want to talk about cheap shots though or cards I don't think Grace has any room to talk becasue all they did was hack and foul after the play in the last 15 minutes of the game after they were tired and out of it. Give it a rest...it was a well fought game by both teams and Grace needs to move on and look to next year.
