  1. Probably shouldn't get to excited about these two wins. Carter lost by 31 last night to Hampton and from all accounts this may be the worst Gibbs team ever. I don't think that Sevier Co. is very good either. Time will tell if they are any good. Pioneer fans should remember from Football season that good starts to a season can be deceiving. The first real test of the season will come for the Pioneers on Tuesday against Pigeon Forge.
  2. Sounds like an exciting game! Time will tell if either of these teams are very good, but it speaks well of Rutledge with the talent that they lost from last season.
  3. It doesn't matter if A-E and Fulton are in the same Region or not, they will still meet in the 3rd round of the playoffs every year.
  4. They don't grant extra years of elegibility in High School. Chase McBee graduated 3 years ago from Rutledge. He has a younger brother Skyler who is in 8th grade and may be the best of all of the McBee kids. He could contribute on the High School level now. Rutledge returns 3 starters from last years team that won 21 games. They did lose their two leading scorers but could still be a sleeper team in Region 1AA.
  5. But Pigeon has beat Union and they would all have identical 2-3 records in the Region. This is assuming that Rutledge beats Pigeon and Seymour Beats Union. Obviously if Rutledge loses then it is settled. However it would be a 3 way tie if the first scenario occured and Union would likely be left out because of overall win total.
  6. What is the tiebreaker in case of a 3 way tie for the 3rd playoff spot? I think it is overall record, but I'm not sure. If it is then Union would need one more win to ensure that spot. Otherwise they could get left out if Rutledge beats Pigeon Forge. They would all have 2-3 Region records(unless Union beats Seymour), and would have all beaten each other. Rutledge would have 5 or 6 overall wins, Union and Pigeon would have 4. Does anyone know the answer about the tiebreakers?
  7. Haven't seen or heard much lately on the Pioneers. They started the season 4-0, but seem to have fallen on hard times recently. Does anyone know anything about them or have any insight as to why they have declined so sharply? Is it injuries or an increase in the level of competition?
  8. Can't seem to find any scores or get any info from their past few games. Does anyone know anything? PioneerPirate, The winner, or baseballkid can you help? I live out of the area now, so I have a hard time getting scores. I hope this doesn't mean that they have been losing games as of late.
  9. Just wondering if the Pioneers can finally go all the way this year. They seem to be down a little from last year. They appear to lack the hitting and pitching depth of a year ago. They have good young players who will need to step up in order for them to make a run at the Fling. Any thoughts?
