  1. Alright, I've never been on even an average team before, therefore I have never lost huge. However, if a team was beating my team by double digits and still going at it. Well, lets just say I'll be leaving early. On the other hand, I have been on the team killing teams, but we never kept at it. In high school the freshmen come out and if they continue to score restrictions are set upon them such as two touch (this is hard for freshmen that are use to simply faking people out) and having every player touching the ball without the other team taking it (very hard combination for the best of teams, much less young inexperienced players). Lets also remember that Science Hill a year or two ago put up 26 on a team and didn't make it to state. So they probably should have practiced with the opportunity they had presented to them. As a side note, teams do grow and get better. One day they might give you exactly what you guys game them. Also, remember that there are teams in this state that could do that to you guys.
  2. They've been in every legitament top ten that I've seen. Thats hardly being counted out.
  3. Yeah, they were a bit of a surprise to me too, but from what I hear they play well as a team. A source that was at the Rossview game said that if you compared every player against White Stations player in the same position, Rossview had the better player, with the exception of kepper. He also said that the refs were poor and Rossview played a man down for most of the game (for cussing). So, Rossview has the better players, but those "better players" are not insync with each other. While White Station plays as a team and we all know what that means. However, come tournament time I would bet that Rossview will have the better team. As for the Clarksville players that quit. From what I know it is their or what would have been their starting sweeper (best defender=big hit, especially in their region) and at least one other would be starter.
  4. Based upon scrimmages and last year. 1)Brentwood (what can I say, the're very good) 2)Hendersonville (don't worry about the MBA game) 3)Bearden (they impressed me against CAK) 4)Houston (stayed strong) 5)Farragut (played a lot of players and stayed in games) 6)Blackman (they play hard and have great talent) 7)McMinn County (top team) 8)Oak Ridge (played BGA tough) 9)Riverdale (a very solid team) 10)White Station (beat Germantown and Rossview) 11)Rossview (played great against Hendersonville then questionable games) Teams that dropped in rankings: Clarksville (had some seniors quit again) Germantown (lost to White Station 4-0) Soddy Daisy (lost to Warren County and others)
  5. Father Rehab...I mean Ryan. Just play the games, two years ago ya'll got beat by teams considerably worse than Hendersonville and noone was saying what you are saying. Also, IRON CURTAIN would suggest that you don't give up many goals or any at all, which right now you guys have been getting scored on more than a lot of teams.
  6. This is why you have to love scrimmages...Rossview ties Hendersonville, a week or so later tie White House and then White House gets killed by Hendersonville. Just another indication that noone other than the team's coaches should care about scrimmage scores.
  7. It looks nice, except for Clarksville not being included. They are going to be a very good team this year. Eurosport will remain the same till the season starts and plays some games.
  8. These are some of the scores from Eurosportscoreboard.com, just the ones that i think involve decent teams. Ooltewah 0-0 Cleveland Centennial 2-0 PJPII Hendersonville 1-1 Rossview MLK 3-3 Beech Ooltewah 1-2 Father Ryan Also, it has Clarksville playing Blackman and Smyrna today. Any info. would be appreciated.
  9. No offense, but there is no way Overton will even make it to state. In order to get to state they must get by Brentwood, Hendersonville, Rossview, Clarksville, etc. The cards are dealt against them, sorry. In my opinion, these are four of the top eleven teams in AAA.
  10. old coach...constantly yelling at his players for fouls, bad decisions, etc.. So fun to watch especially when the player is complaining (you know you have them beat then)
  11. NOOOOO!!! I always find his antics so entertaining. I will miss him and all his yelling at his own players.
  12. The best team changes year to year, so it would be unfair to say what division has the best team. (last year it was Father Ryan) As for the best classification, it is by far AAA. The reason for this is that it is much deeper. Yes, the top teams in A/AA and II can play with the best of AAA, but can their 11th best team play with the 11th best team in AAA? No, every year AAA teams beat other division's state finalists and don't make state. Therefore, AAA is the best "division", but doesn't always have the best "team". As for tryouts, you are obvious a private school player because in public schools the extra tryouts, will lets just say they're not very good (I've experiened another one and there are juniors that still stink trying out for the team). So its irrelevant.
  13. I know the two teams will respect their competition, but its Clarksville (excluding last year, won district like the past ten years or so) and Rossview (they won district last year). Thats it, no other teams (Springfield might beable to pull an upset with their speed, but will have to play the game of their lives and the other team have an off night). But Hendersonville's district is in their region, thats where they get some great competition. Also, Brentwood is in their section so they will have to pull an upset to make it to state.
  14. If your a senior now then you are my age and saw the world cup 2002 before your freshman year. Do you remember the game between Portugal and USA? Well, if you don't USA won 3-2 and the time before that they won too. So, yes I do think their better. As for germany, go to fifa.com watch the Japan/Korean video. At the beginning they have highlights of the Portugal game (sick header) and at 5:05 in they show the hand ball that eliminated the US. Not having your family or friends is a huge deal when your a teenager. Within the next 50 years I would not be surprised to see the US win it. I took AP History too, got a 5 on the exam. HAHA, that would be (0-3) for Germany and (3-0) for USA. I guess there is something we will always dominate at afterall.
  15. To start: I use to live in Germany. I don't mean to vent here, but all this talk about Americans being sorry at soccer is annoying me immensly. Donovan makes world class players look sorry all the time (look at WC 2002). Lets not forget that Tim Howard is still one of the best young goalies in the world. I know Germany has Kahn, but he's getting old. What about Mcbride? Does he stink, cause if you say yes, then everyone should disregard everything you say. Just because your country is in Europe doesn't mean your better than us. As Europeans founded America (remember that). By the way: part of the reason American players fail in Europe is because they go there when they are so young, can't speak the native language, and are so far away from their family and friends (makes a huge difference).
  16. legend I'm sorry, the US will have a very tough time getting to the elite 8, especially since they might have to play Brazil in the round of 16, which they will most likely lose. I am American and pro the red, white, and blue. However, their road to the elite 8 is horrible. I remember the German who handed the little ball with USA inside and the smurk he had on his face. I hope I am wrong, but the USA has a difficult road. Number8 quit being ignorant...wait until your junior year and you are forced to take US History. Then you will learn what we (Americans) have done for the world. Examples: Time Zones, Stock Market, Democracy, etc. As for soccer...the United States are ranked #7 and Japan #15 in the world for a reason, its because they are a better team. They also made history when they made it to the elite 8 and lets be honest came incredibly close to making it to the top four and probably would have made it to Brazil (even though they would have lost). It was clearly a hand ball on the line go to fifa.com if you don't believe me, they have video (its as clear as day). Oh, by the way its embarrassing.

    JV Teams

Wow, that amazes me. How have you guys been able to stay dominant without a jv team. I was under the impression that all the teams that have substaned a great program had a jv team. How many did you keep on the roster when you only had a varsity team?
  18. Thank you everyone that made peaceful conversation. This is what I have gathered and some of my own personal opinion. Top 11 teams heading into the scrimmages (I will do one more after scrimmages, based on opinions and other things, but not the result). 1)Brentwood (won it last year, will compete again) 2)Hendersonville (Kelly is not their entire team) 3)Bearden (noone complained with my last ranking of them) 4)Blackman (everyone complained that they should be higher) 5)Houston (think they could surprise some people and definitely have a good chance for state) 6)Farragut (I still say they will be good...I've seen their jv teams beat top teams varsity) 7)Oak Ridge (have to respect their talent) 8)Clarksville (I'm telling you they will be good this year again) 9)Rossview (I look forward to their district battle with Clarksville...should be interesting and hard fought) 10)Riverdale (I don't know much about them, but highly ranked amongst others) 11)McMinn County (they score...can their opponent?) Obviously, this means absolutely nothing. Therefore, please don't yell at me because your team is not on here. Prove that you should be when the real season starts (scrimmages mean nothing).
  19. Interesting that you left out the 2 Clarksville teams that have been ranked pretty high by myself and others. (Clarksville High and Rossview)
  20. For someone that 'just' lives in the clarksville area and have only "heard about chs", you sure do know a lot about the teams. My guess is that you play for rhs.
  21. I feel that I must step in now. The United States is not playing any of their top three goalies (Keller, Freidel, and I can't remember his name, but its the guy for manchester united). Not to mention the heart of their midfield, Claudio Reyna. Some more players are Frankie Hejduk (sprain), Pablo Mastroeni (great defender), John O'Brien, DaMarcus Beasley, and Brian McBride. These are just a few, but important because they will start in June (assuming they are healthy). That would be seven players that will probably start out of the eleven that play. Please use these boards to discuss, not argue, especially if you have no idea of what you are talking about. Neither teams were at full strength, but of the players that were out there, the United States was clearly the better team. Take the game for what it was, a "friendly" to prepare for the World Cup.
  22. Isn't the only TN all american on the boys side Daniel Kelly for Hendersonville?
