  1. ydet must be joking about overton. i would say they are the third best team in that 1/2 mile stretch of franklin road behind fra and father ryan. i'd put father ryan as the 5th team.
  2. in my opinion, all of those teams, especially brentwood, play second rate teams outside of their district. who does brentwood play other than hendersonville and as we all know scrimmages don't count.
  3. What are the times for Friday's games? Are all of them played at the USN athletic fields in W. Nashville?
  4. Goalkeeping is definitely a strength for centennial, but there are too many other holes to stop Brentwood. Sorry, 4-0 Brentwood.

    JPII vs BA

I know the ba goal keeper is the 2nd choice but he is good. It seems that he has been keeping them in games. Was that the case against jp2?
  6. the debate of AAA wilco teams has gotten stale. let's include the private schools. what would be the ranking if we included the ba, bga, and cpa?
  7. Ind. is very young and it shows, small and uncomfortable under pressure, although they beat FHS. They counterattacked well and successfully against Franklin who couldn't finish. I have seen Ravenwood as well, and would guess that they will join B-wood.
  8. Its good to hear somebody mention John Lanier of MBA. He has lasted the test of time at a school where excellence is demanded in the classrooom and athletic field. I would be interested in knowing the number of games he has won. It must be close to 300.
  9. How about Independence? I know that they won't win state or even their district, but beating Franklin convincingly in their 2nd or 3rd year is impressive.
  10. Ouch. I believe there are other teams that could be competitive and give you a good match.
  11. They have done this for at least a couple of years. Are we going to take their state championship away? Both teams are in season, only one is allowed to start official matches and the other can only play friendlies. As long as both register it as such, I don't see the problem. Can someone explain the rule they broke?
  12. Do you mean that BA's varsity beat Ravenwood's jv, or BA's jv beat Ravenwood's jv?
  13. Stephen Klein, I believe.
  14. i thought they were modeled after the 1950 kit of the team that beat england.

    DII Soccer

Those two schools apparently like to show how good they will be on the field, rather than a forum. Admirable.

    DII Soccer

The key is to know whether or not they are rebuilding or reloading. I have a feeling that they are reloading. Did anybody see their J.V. team last year, looked more like a varsity team? It will be hard to say until their first match, Hendersonville (?), but I bet their coach will have them ready.
  17. jason bristol from bga. he was somehow left off the all midstate team, but his ability and leadership in the back was one of the main reasons bga was able to be as successful as they were this year.
  18. unfortunately, bga and b'wood don't play this year. why is that?
  19. Didn't Hume Fogg lose to FRA 8-0?
  20. I would guess Ryan #1 and BGA #2, especially with the 2 goals given up to Bell Buckle by the BGA team. A good sleeper would be JP2.
  21. the middle region final has not been played so bga is not set to play ecs. father ryan's team is very good and could upset bga or any division ii team.
  22. the real question is why does brentwood feel the need to blow teams out by so many. it did the same when hart was the coach. does it come from the coach? are you padding stats? you could argue that it is worse to pass the ball around a team for 40 minutes than to score 16 on them. can you answer that thats ignorant. just wondering.
  23. i was impressed with your result with father ryan, since it was 8-0 the last time you played them.

    MBA

don't let the record fool you. mba is a very dangerous team come tournament time. you are correct in that the defense is very strong with good goalkeeping as well. their most dangerous attacking player, jeff glaser, has been out due to a hamstring pull. while he has been out mba has had a difficult time putting the ball in the back of the net, but when he returns mba will have a good chance at the region and state. brentwood on friday will be a good test.
