Rhea County traveled to Rockwood tonight for a scrimmage. We saw a loaded Rockwood team, but was surprised with the lack of effort on the part of a few of the travel players. Routine throws were not executed, and pitcher not going for out at homeplate after a pass ball, twice...??? Anyone know anything else about recent scrimmages?

One way or the other.....

Simple question. Just wanted to know if the other teams were average, good, great.

What caliber of teams did they face?

Who is 1st and 2nd going into the district tournament?

As a parent I would like to find out what the Oliver Springs High School coach plans to do about the situation. This is not something to be dismissed without deciplinary action being taken. I see it as this could cost OSHS a trip to state. The coach needs to face the fact he had a player represent not only softball at OSHS, but Roane County in a very negative way.

Both feet are not to be airborne before release of the ball. That is happening with the pitcher in question here I think.

The team is doing much better in the tournament. I do have concerns about the "leap" the pitchers take....is this a legal pitch? Rockwood needs to ask questions.

Can't wait to see the games tomorrow. Both of these teams will put on a show for the crowd. Good luck Lady Tigers!!!!

Rockwood Lady Tigers beat Harriman tonight 9-7, RHS plays Coalfield tomorrow at 4:00. Harriman beat Sunbright 4-1 in the second game. Does anyone know what the situation was with Coalfields player from Mon. night? :justwrestle:

Travel ball is awesome for the girls and parents. Although, in the many years I have been around high school softball, I have seen many players who simplly could not afford the travel team. I wish there were more sponsors available to some of these athletes that need the money to play at a more competitive level. Again, travel teams are great and my daughter has played on one for several years.

How is Greenback doing? I heard they had a new coach. Does anyone know if this is true or not?
