I agree. However, another key element to making a school summer league team work is dedication from the coach taking on the responsbility. You can kiss bonding away if this part of the glue factor is missing.

It's that light switch thing - on or off. Hopefully, Beech is saving its best days for the tournament.

Missed the Beech/Smyrna game last night. WHAT HAPPENED?????

Oooh, tough call there - If Mt. Juliet brings their A game, I believe you'll see them come out on top. No doubt Pickett is awesome, however, Pickett is one man, not the entire team. Toole is in the groove though. MJ 2-1 (allowing for a Pickett blast).

Mt. Juliet played very well last night. Beech is like a light switch - on one game; off the next. Tough to figure. Meadows pitched a good game against Mt. Juliet.

If you're checking out 8th graders - let me throw in a kid from Goodlettsville. This kid's name is Mason Forbis. UNBELIEVEABLE. Of all the years I've been around baseball, I don't think I've ever seen a kid throw this hard so young. He is a man trapped in a kid's body. He is still a bit raw. Kids are terrified to hit against him because he often throws an out of control wild pitch and players are jumping every which way to get away from him. If you come see him play, bring a radar gun. You won't be let down.

In10City - Not quite sure why. Coach is a great guy. One possible theory here is too many players on the team. However, I did hear something the other day though - Beech has a baseball team - not a program. Talent is young, but it's there. I do think a weakness this team has is manufacturing runs - could be setting a school record for the most players picked off base. Definitely a problem.

Let me throw one at ya - Beech in Middle Tennessee. More talent in the door now and coming up, yet their season is awful.
