  1. who will pitch friday for beech?
  2. i bet notre dame isnt anywhere near as good as the Melrose team white house faced last year in the semifinals in 4a. and yes i know its a totally different wh team and they are in 3a now but those kids where there to and they got a feel for what it takes to win big games. i'll go ahead and mention the hillwood game last year to. lots of people saying hillwood would stomp white house and it was the other way around. wh will be ready to play. no doubt about that.
  3. I heard from a source out of Gallatin that McGuire was kicked off the team for getting into trouble again. Is this true?
  4. Another poor performance by White House. Outstanding job by both pitchers. Lavergne wins off 2 unearned runs. 4 errors by White House gets them the loss. Kevin Whittaker pitched 7 and gave up 2 hits. Harrington pitched 7 and gave up 4.

    Beech

Hayes cant swing a bat, throw a pitch, or field a ground ball so I dont see how its his fault that his team is underachieving. All he can do is coach them to the best of his ability and put the guys on the field that he thinks has the best chance to get him a win night in and night out. Beech isnt a bad team, theyve had lots of great players come through the program almost every year, they just seem to underachieve every year also. Most people will put the blame on the coaches for this and I understand that, but I know Coach Hayes and I know what kind of coach he is and he's one of the best coaches in 9AAA I think. I never played for the guy but I played against him many times and he knows what he is doing. All it comes down to is the players performing. Yes I agree something needs to change at Beech, but its definetly not the coach. A little support from the parents and fans instead of whining could do a world of good. All controversy does is make things worse. Let the guy do his job and give it a rest. I'll tell you one thing...I'd take him over Coach Hendrix at H'ville any day of the week. No disrespect to Coach Hendrix but he's just been blessed with loads and loads of talent. Thats just a perk of living in a big city like H'ville though. Good Luck to Beech the rest of the year. Except against White House.
  6. the Sullins twins will not be playing.
  7. dang, what happened in the wh-smyrna game? who pitched and who had the big hits.
  8. White House: Soph Zach Miller SS/P Fresh Cory Collins SS/P Fresh Cody Midgett 1B/P
  9. In my opinion, 9AAA's best pitcher will not pitch this year and that is Beech's Zach Hendren. From what I heard he messed up his shoulder back in the winter and wont pitch this spring. Some other guys that should be tough to beat will be Brandon McClurg (H'ville), Cody Sullins (WH), Seth McAdams (Beech), Kevin Whittaker (WH), Caleb McGuire (Gallatin), Matt Shao (MJ), Caleb Cotham (MJ). I think most of the top teams from last year lost their #1's so none of these guys are really proven besides McGuire who won the LHP of the Year award for 9AAA last year. Sullins in WH is hurt right now but should be ready to go by early April. Aces for some schools last year that graduated were Toole (WH), Hardy (MJ), Adkins (WC), May (Beech), Parker (WC), Pickett (WH). Smyrna didnt have anybody that they could call an ace last year so until they have a guy that wins more than 10 games this year then you cant call anyone an ace. Same goes for Lavergne.
  10. WH tops Portland 4-2. Jordan Smith got the win and Cody Midgett the save. WH didnt play that great but came out on top so that's all that really matters I guess.
  11. Just because White House won this tournament doesnt mean jack. They have to prove how good they are when district games roll around. All of these tournaments are just warm-ups to get ready for district battle. Gallatin won this tourney last year and had a bunch of hype going on about how good they were and looked where they finished in 9AAA. In the big 8 spot. Celebrate the wins on Sunday, but White House better get back to work on Monday because they still havent proved a thing.
  12. Coach Mills is a great coach. He had some tough shoes to fill when Coach Long left White House 4 years ago and he has done a heckuva job doing so. Its pretty when you lead your team to the 9AAA district title in only the 3rd year of being in that district. Not many teams can step into a district with powerhouses like Mt. Juliet and Hendersonville and accomplish something like Coach Mills did so quickly. He's a class guy and a great coach.
  13. prolly no one because if their stuff was that nasty then they would be playing varsity ball not jv. this has got to be one of the dumbest posts ever.
  14. White House only graduated 4 seniors last year but they were four key guys. The biggest of them all of course is district MVP for the past 2 seasons, Justin Pickett. They also lost their ace in Shane Toole who went 12-2 last season I think. Lost their lead-off man in Chase Reynolds and their starting CF in Robert Hunter. They're starting shortstop coming into this season quit because of football and as of right now they're #1 pitcher Cody Sullins is out with a shoulder injury. Another big injury to this years team was they're best outfielder Kyle Halvorson broke his elbow during football season and was suppose to make a full recovery by baseball season but had a set back and had to have more sugery on the elbow. So in best case scenario he'll be back by mid-April. On the bright side, White House returns both Cody and Cory Sullins. Starting JR third baseman Cory Allen and P/RF Kevin Whittaker. The middle infield we'll be played by JR 2B Jordan Smith and SO SS Zach Miller. Both have to step up and fill some big shoes left by Broadrick and Reynolds. They have a solid catcher in Jeremy Wiss who backed up arguably the best catcher in the midstate last year in Pickett. This season should be interesting to find out how White House we'll do.
  15. He still wasnt as good as Pickett at White House the past 4 years. Nobody has put up the numbers he did in the three years White House was in 9AAA with him.
