  1. HC..."nicceeeeeee" When you stir it up..... expect it to stink. Congratulations on making a twenty-something year old female's life miserable. When you take the low road, why would you expect others to take the high road. What was apparently a nice gesture to keep your daughter off the roads late at night has turned now into something that you insinuate was something else... and your "you have NO IDEA" insinuations need to stop. There will be special place for you......
  2. The flyer was a mistake and she has been reprimanded for it. Two game suspension, which includes the game against the school that WAS MANIPULATED INTO BEING THE MOUTHPIECE FOR THE ORIGINAL WHINERS. Blackman should be happy although much to their dismay, they don't get to face a 23 year old, fresh out of college assistant coach that is scared to death and has no experience. They get to face an ex-head coach with 20 something years of experience instead. Interesting that all this arose just before Riverdale's first game against Blackman and certain Riverdale parents were seen sitting on the Blackman side during the basketball game. Oh yea, and I know way too much about the way the Blackman softball program operates. Better watch what kind of fuel you throw into the BLAZE... it could wind up burning in your own backyard.
  3. QAPET: YOU GO GIRL. If I had been in the financial situation to do it, I would have followed both of the Williamson county coaches to Rutherford County. Neither of them asked. My kid might not have played as much there. But, as an ex-coach, I could see the loss to Williamson County and the gain to Rutherford. As a parent, I wanted to follow. As a player, my child wanted to follow. Unfortunately, we had a house to sell and aren't loaded like certain eatery execs (closing and moving costs were prohibitive to US). If I had been in an apartment, with the lease expiring anyway, YOU BETCHA I would have followed a coach under whose teaching that I had improved tremendously and loved playing for. Good players and their parents want to be a part of a good program and be taught by good coaches. The performance of those good coaches speak for itself. Especially if those good coaches are not willing to play politics, sometimes even if it means they lose their jobs because of it. ANYWAY, my point is... I had several coaches in my time that I would have followed to the ends of the earth because they taught me about life and about the sport. As an adult, I am amazed by how things have changed. I am amazed at the sense of entitlement that people think their children have just because they come to practice or pay their "player fees". Guys, this isn't rec ball. If you want equal playing time, go play at the Y or the rec center. High school ball is about who is the best. Period. Not what grade you are. Not how much money your parents can raise for the school. Not how buddy buddy your daddy can get with the coach. I had a friend once tell me that FAIR is relative. What's FAIR to the kids who have the talent and work hard is that they play and that the best players are on the floor with them so that their team will be competitive. Anything less, is not FAIR to those kids. That's the way high school ball used to be. You get a coach that operates that way now, and THE WITCH HUNT BEGINS. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of seeing good people being done wrong in the name of keeping whiners happy.
  4. I respectfully agree with you Riverdaleman. There are bad people in this world. There are bad things that go on. We have spent too much time already worrying about "all" vs. "all zoned for Riverdale". Goodness. This was a witch hunt from day one. The only respectable thing to do now is recognize it for that and move on to things that deserve and need our time and attention.
  5. HISSY FIT: The temper tantrum thrown by any kid from a certain Tennessee county when they don't get what they want and mommy and daddy can't buy it for them. Or more likely the case, the temper tantrum thrown by mommy and daddy when they can't manipulate what they want for said princess with buttery terms and offers of financial backing for business ventures or great big fundraising efforts. The second part of the definition seems to be true more often than the first. Rutherford county - Let me introduce you to your neighbors! A little bit of our madness up and moved (yes up and moved) itself to your backyard. My momma always said that a lie can make its way around the world before the truth even gets out of bed! We sit and watch movies and television shows about caring coaches that go the extra mile for kids and we wonder why we don't have coaches like that in "real life". THIS IS WHY. I hope that when this is all said and done that some lawyer will take this case pro-bono and make an example out of some folks.
  6. Hey, I'm not posting to argue the point but when I read this it leaves too much open for misinterpretation. A Ravenwood coach was ejected earlier in the game when he complained about the hit batter situation. Later, the Ravenwood pitcher hit a batter with a slow curve ball and was immediately ejected because the umpire assumed that it was retaliation. Because it was the second ejection, the head coach had to leave also. When I read the "coach hit a guy" part of your post I just thought some might read that wrong and wanted to clarify.
  7. The same Ravenwood player was hit by the Farragut pitching staff not one, not two but THREE times in two games. I don't remember exactly but it seems that he was the only batter hit by the Farragut pitching staff (who seemed to have pretty good control on all other batters) The kid who was hit happens to be the best pitcher and hitter on the Ravenwood roster. The first time he was hit in the elbow. The second time(with the score at something like 13-0) the kid was hit square in the side of the head and suffered a concussion, thus preventing him from pitching further in the tournament. Then, he was hit AGAIN today, in his third at bat... after having hit two doubles off the left center wall. This Farragut pitching staff is very, very talented. That has been discussed on this board at length. I think everyone there found it a little hard to believe in the coincidental randomness of the loss of control.
  8. Congratulations to Beech. Final Score Beech 1 Ravenwood 0. Both Pitchers pitched very well. Brittney Pruitt pitched a beautiful game for Ravenwood. Beech used small ball to put the winning run on the board with three perfectly executed bunts. The Ravenwood girls played like they wanted to win but just couldn't get anything going at the plate and on the bases. I saw the Beech coach at the Ravenwood game against Brentwood on Wednesday charting every pitch and swing for both sides. I'm sure that came in handy when working against the our batters last night. I hope we will make another run next year but I am sad that we will have to do it without those who will graduate. We do have a strong pitcher in the wings in Megan Lane and several returning junior starters, a freshman starter, and some returning sophomores and freshmen that will step into key roles next year. This group of players and parents is very kind and supportive of each other. There is a ton of talent on this team and I am so sad that we didn't give our seniors an opportunity to play in Murfreesboro next week. Good luck to those who will be there.
  9. Columbia Academy's #23 is Lauren Bradley. She did make All District as a Freshman. Congruatlations LB!
  10. Yes, she is a senior. When you saw her early in the season, she hadn't thrown in quite some time. She was fresh out of basketball and has played first base for the softball team the last few years. Her success late in the season is testimony to her work ethic and determination and to the same for the entire Brentwood team. They are the most improved team in their district this year. I have seen Jennifer play all three sports. She is humble, graceful and she never shows any emotion. She is just what I would call STEADY. I am not certain about this but I think she is going to Duke to focus on academics and will play none of the three sports in college. If someone has heard differently, please correct me.
  11. "Bam" is Amanda VanVranken. She is a Freshman
  12. Is Williams making what decision? I don't guess I understand the question. Obviously Williams won't be deciding where Springer will go. They don't even talk any more. And obviously Williams has no influence over Vaden or anything she decides as evidenced by the events impacting his own career since the end of basketball season.
