  1. No, I was just stating my opinion and letting you know I agree with the list too. I dont know much about Cookeville though so maybe they should be somewhere else in the order.
  2. Look at this web page: http://www.womenssportsfoundation.org/cgi-...ts/article.html? record=888 This web page will explain the principle of why the Hixon girls got a new softball field. I will tell you too, alot of high schools are not in compliance with title nine.
  3. Look , I dont want to get into negatives. I just think the other teams are stronger.

Sorry, I was just trying to defend Shelby. I think she is a very talented young lady. I think the world of Riley too. I dont like hearing anybody compare the two either. I should have ignored the thread. Again, sorry.

Heck, have a young lady pitch three or four games in one day and see what happens. It MAKES a difference!!!! By the way to answer your other question of why Riley went to Brentwood , I think it had to do with the players at BA that were her age. I watched their middle school play. It wasnt pretty.

] Shelby is a great pitcher. Riley is good for being a freshman. To say she went to Brentwood because she is the best pitcher of the two is ridiculous. Both are good. It is easier to have a low ERA if you are pitching two games a day. Try pitching four , five or six games and see what happens. After three games it is down hill alot of times. Shelby, I hope you get better soon. Good luck the rest of the season and have fun playing for Ernie next year on your scholarship to Trevecca!!!!!
  7. Someone asked about the white balls. One of the people in charge said they bought them at a huge discount.
  8. I just want you to know that I am proud of all these girls. Coaches you should be proud too, I dont know of a harder working group of girls than Brentwood and Riverdale. Brentwood , be proud of what you accomplished this weekend, beating Goodpasture and St. Benedict was an accomplishment. Riverdale girls , I can only say how amazed I am that you finally pulled everything together from just a few weeks ago. We all knew you could do it. Coach Breedan , you have to know you are a gifted coach. thumb
  9. Soddy must have a set of elite hitters too as they defeated Goodpasture. I know West Wilson does although I dont know if I would place them as high as Goodpasture and Soddy.
  10. You forgot Ryan and Brentwood. I believe there are five girls on these two teams that have hit it out if not this season then last season. Also you probably will have to add Riverdale. I might have to check on that. They have 4 or 5. I know I have only seen one hit out of the park this year from this team. I dont know of any from Brentwood this year. Ryan has already hit several out. Now if you just count preseason then I dont know of anyone. Of all the teams mentioned I think I am most impressed by Goodpastures hitters. They seem consistent and hard to pitch around. Even really great pitchers have to really work with them at the plate. That marks a team of truely GREAT hitters. I think the teams that will win state will have a team full of kids that have really worked in the offseason to prepare for the skilled pitchers with the good curves or rises or whatever. I would take a team that is able to single or double off of good pitching over and over, over a team that can hit long balls every once and a while any day.
  11. Riverdale does have a lot of talent. Didnt they scrimmage your team ( lincoln county) last week? After that, why would you say some think they are better than what they are?
  12. Riverdale defeated Baylor 3 to 0. (a no hitter, 9 +-k's , freshman pitcher) Then they turned right around and lost to none other than Farragut 1 to 0. The softball gods were not smiling on Riverdale today.
  13. You are not giving Thomas enough credit. When I watched them Thomas gave a better performance than the other two. She was a lot better. The hitting stopped when Thomas took the mound. Of course this is most likely an unfair judgement as I have only seen them once. Young ladys have up and down days. On the other side I have never been impressed with her hitting. I have never seen her hit the ball past the short stop although others have told me she is a good hitter. In any respects she is a tremendous athelete as is Rice , I am sure , as I have heard so many positive things about her.
  14. Riverdale defeated Columbia Acadamy 9(+-) to 0. What was the Page vs. Beech score?
  15. 1)You wrote: Don't let that silly little play day where they worker on situations fool you. that was early but now they are getting into the swing of things. I know jelly and some of the Riverdale girls they do have a pretty decent pitcher but i have witnessed Dickson Co. beat them everytime but once this past fall when Dickson played their J.V. with the exception of Ashley Myatt. I'm out Ok how does the Dickson county game in anyway apply, other than to diss Riverdales coach after he posted the strikeout stats of his game with you when you wouldnt be quiet about fantastic your hitters were? 2) You wrote: one of the three came off of Beech's Ace Stanfill (spelling is questionable) who by the way won state last year. I would like to say that maybe it was a freak accident but they continue to hit homeruns no matter who they play. Pitchers better watch out when they play the Wood or they may hurt their neck watching the ball fly out of the park Why mention the pitchers name other than to belittle her? 3) You wrote: Topgame why don't you start a topic called "capable hitters" and then you can talk about it all you want to. I just started this topic to see if anyone had five or more girls who have already hit that many homeruns not who was capable. I'm sure Brentwood does have good hitters and when five of them or more hit homeruns come on here and tell me about it. Because i know one team who already has that many. Not only were they capable but they did hit that many. I'm out. Just rude 4) You wrote:I coached a fall league softball team this past fall and i don't know where the waverly talent was but i didn't see it. Need I go on? look act however you want , I really dont care
  16. " Shut up and Play" Will you give us a break please! I think we need to remember not to put down people and VERY respectable coaches? Creekwood's players have worked hard and they undouptably deserve to be recognized. Why dont you have your coach call a team like Riverdale or Brentwood and schedule a scrimmage this week?Let them show us all what they can do. Until then just be SILENT , OK? Now please be nice thumb By the way tell Rachel Finney, of Creekwood, that she is a tremendous player. I look foward to watching her play this year.
  17. Franklin is good. Their main pitchers name is Chelsea. She used to really, really dominate in the Williamson County Softball league and in middle school ball. Now she seems to have a pretty good rise and drop and changeup. She is a good hitter. Alexis Pinnell, is about 6' tall and plays 1st base. Her legs are 3' long and she can really stretch to get the out. It is impossible to over throw the ball, she makes the infield look good. She also is a good hitter. There is another young lady on the team who used to play on Buzzes travel team who is really good but I cannot for the life of me remember her name. I think she was batting leadoff this weekend. There are others that are good on the team. They should be pretty strong.
  18. We will see this weekend. That is for sure. Isnt Baylor in the same pool with Riverdale and Goodpasture and Columbia?
  19. Riverdale looked good Riverdale shutout Ryan ( about 11 K's) Riverdale shutout Columbia (one hitter) ( 12+ K's) Riverdale shutout Franklin ( 12+ - K's) Riverdale's JV team over David Lipscomb 2 to 1 (9 +-K's) Riverdale shutout Ryan again 2 to 0 ( 8+- K's) Dominating pitching Hitting was excellent all weekend, no homeruns just hit after hit after hit
  20. There is a great complex in Franklin, Tn. Bermuda outfields, irrigation, large areas for warmup and it has 10 fields all in one location!!! It is 2 miles off 1-65 and near the 840 and I-65 intersection so it close to everybody.
  21. You mean how good everybody's freshmen " ARE" , dont you? Got the point? I hope the soddy freshmen " GET BETTER LEARNIN' THAN THEIR PARENTS DID." Sorry, I couldn't resist. Back to the point, I do believe Soddy will be strong but I have to agree they will have a tough time beating Riverdale. There are other strong teams as well. Brentwood is tough and they are only going to get better. I dont feel any team is going to walk all over them.
  22. Blackman loses everything this year. It will be many years before they will be on top again.
  23. Just out of curiosity, how did the 14U teams finish out in this tournament?
  24. Look, I think a lot of teams out there have a lot of upcoming talent not just manchester. Typing the word SHUTOUT in red about Riverdales team is being a tad rude. I heard the ball was hit alot off your freshman pitcher. Coffee countys defense is very good. That is not to say your freshman pitcher isnt good , I have seen her play many times . She does fine. Riverdale has a lot of very good freshmen too and from what I hear exceptional talent coming up next year. Riverdale never accused your team of ever wimping out by playing freshmen. Heck they have had about three to four freshmen starters all year. I say lets put the battle to rest. You will battle each other on the field for many years to come . Try to be nice and get along.
  25. I wonder if Jeff Breeden gets tired of being the center of attention on this board. Every day he is listed both good and bad. I think we should talk about somebody else for a while, how about the new coach at Oakland, Blake. He certainly is colorful.
