  1. Yeah, no problems finding their way to Roan Mtn, no problems on the bus, no problems getting lunch at McDonalds perhaps. No problems on Orr Field is a whole other story. But you guys just keep thinking that way. We'll see you at 7 on Friday. Play hard Landers just like you always do.
  2. What does last years state basketball championship have to do with this years football team? Same thing Mark Byrd has to do with Cloudland football this year. Nothing! It's a new year so if you want to talk Unaka football then talk it but let's talk in the present. I'm glad they have more athletes coming out to play. That's great that they are finally getting it. You can't win if you don't play.
  3. As for fan support, I know people in this town well enough to know that most are only fair weather fans. Where is the dogpound now? There may be a lot of fairweather fans, but they are not the dogpound. They were there on the fence. I didnt see nobody faking nothing either. East was big and their QB was good. Anybody know what happened to the Jones kid? I heard he quit.
  4. Where is Rik Anderson when you need him? No discipline on the court or off with this bunch. They are turning one of the most respected girls clubs around into a laughing stock. Let's hope that they actually get punished for this and pray that they learn a lesson. I'm not going to hold my breath though. The way they have played lately has reflected some sort of problem within the team. It's time to send the trouble makers to the house and let the dedicated ones play some team ball.
  5. Dinner sounds good. Just hope it doesn't snow it out!
  6. 4-Life-Word of advice-Why don't you go toot your "Wooden" horn on your own thread. You know, one with a title that actually concerns DCA and not Cloudland. If I want to hear about how great DCA is then I will go and read a DCA thread. It's fine to support your team but it is really immature the way you post on every single thread that mentions Cloudland. It's a little too early to be predicting state champions. Why don't you go cut out some more pictures of Wooden and hang them over your bed or something.
  7. Good Luck Landers! We're all behind you all the way!
  8. PV has some very good athletes and they have nothing to be ashamed of. At least I didn't have to sleep through this game. Too bad we had all those touchdowns called back. That was the longest game. How many yards in penalties did we have anyway? Way to go Landers, there was anever a doubt.... Another step closer.
  9. pvhsrulz- I truly do hope that you know what you are talking about. I hope that your Indians are all that you say and more. I hope that you played your JV and didn't run scores up and I hope that you have all kinds of secret weapons that you have been saving just especially for us. Because I personally am tired of watching these runaway ballgames that I can barely stay awake for. I hope you are great because if you are what you say you are it will only help us to improve. And remember what you said, "To be the man you have to beat the man." It's true, we haven't beaten Ezell so they are still the #1 one defending State champs but until you beat us, we are the #1 defending Region 1A champs so don't throw out the we're tied crap until you get the job done yourself. Cloudland is not unbeatable. No team is but you better believe that we are coming to Powell Valley with one goal in mind. One game at a time......... Go Landers! JUST BRING IT!
  10. In wonder if it's because Avery doesn't want to play or because they can't fit it into their schedule. Obviously, we have room on our schedule. Can you imagine the gate that this game would bring in?
  11. Posted By csense: Half of you people think you shouldn't use last years results in determining who's #1 this year and the other half does. You people all need to gather at the barn (the fieldhouse)and get your story straight. Well gee the last time I checked we lived in the United States and we don't have to all be in agreement just because we live in the same town. And you know what, if all of the sportswriters want to vote Cloudland #1, they can. It's called freedom of the press whether you agree with their reasoning for doing so is irrelevant just like the poll. We don't play college ball so who cares, that's why we have a playoff system. One last thing, it's not nice to make fun of others that have less than you. It's our barn/fieldhouse and we make the most of what we have.
  12. It ain't rocket science but it's close? I would surely hope that an undefeated 4A program like Maryville would be able to defeat a small 1A school like Cloudland. I don't believe anyone ever mentioned being able to hang with the likes of them. Don't compare apples to oranges. It seems you have an eye for winning programs. I would have to say that Austin East is a good choice. They are a class act bunch. Fans, players and all. I hope they go far this year.
  13. Is anyone else sick and tired of hearing all of this whining about how weak our schedule is? Since we can't exactly move Roan Mountain further West perhaps we can all start picking up cans to raise the money to start traveling. Nobody around here seems to want to play. I don't know about the rest of you but I am dying to go to South Pittsburg. Last year I overheard their fans raving about how nice their stadium is. They didn't seem to be very impressed with ours but then again, I wasn't very impressed with..... Oh well, I think you get the picture. [Edited by CoolJoe on 10-9-02 11:03P]
  14. Pirate Country- Yesterday you started the thread about how the East TN Sportswriters conspired to make Cloudland #1. Today you started the thread about the weakest schedule. Of course that would be Cloudland, how dumb do you think we are. We know we have a weak schedule. We had one last year too but that didn't stop up from beating the crap out of you. 44-6. Ring a bell? And guess, what? Cloudland is stronger, faster and better this year. I suggest that you concern yourselves with McMinn, Boyd, Bledsoe and Whitwell, in that order. Cloudland shouldn't even be on your mind. Practice hard because Cloudland intends to. When we make it to the playoffs, we will concentrate on one game at a time and hope and pray that each win eventually leads to a Cloudland/South Pitt rematch. We're hungry for some competition, especially if you are as great as you claim. Until then-stop crying about Cloudland and start praising the good things happening in South Pittsburg.
