  1. Is it even worth replying to this one...no... I spell a repeat as well...(sigh)
  2. Hmm...this just adds more and more to the mystery of Brainerd sprinters. I still want to see a 10.5 out of one of these guys at state.
  3. Yup, Michael Johnson proved that when he competed against Donavan Bailey for "World's Fastest Man" in the 150m. Pulled up with a "hammy" after he was getting smoked coming off of the turn. Fastest man will always come out of the 100m, no question.
  4. He is good, but by no means the best. I don't even believe he has run as fast this year as he has in the past. I'm not trying to bash the guy, but come on, of course there are people that compete with him in the state.
  5. Wow, who is running on that Hamilton 3:21 team? Or is that a biased hand time?
  6. Eric Pickle- Shot Put and Discus Nathan Grace- 200m and 400m
  7. Would you mind naming all ten, because I haven't heard of any other team running lower than 3:31.
  8. The internet truly is bragging on a whole new level...
  9. He shouldn't have much trouble fitting in as a freshman. The only difference will be moving to predominately a 1500 instead of 1600. Looking at how he ran the 1600 at state, however, I don't believe he will have any trouble making that change.
  10. Thank you, I appreciate the support, and I'm glad I have one more year to come back and try again. Yes, I will be running this summer for KTC and we are going to be on the USATF schedule. What's your name? I'll look forward to running against you sometime this summer.
  11. Congratulations, indeed, to BHSFootball. He had, in my opinion the best meet of any Bearden athlete, but unfortunately due to some team controversy later that day, alot of people forgot about that. He truly performed better than I believed he could and it could not have happened at a better time. Once again, congratulations, and I'm looking forward to a bigger and better season next year as we compete with Bearden for the last time.
  12. Hewitt does have a good chance at the 400, but putting the two together will push them both. Bryan has put up more impressive 200 times than Hewitt and in the end I believe that will be the deciding factor. Also, Bryan is a senior and defending his title from last year, which are some mental things that give him an edge.
  13. The best I can see us doing in the 4x400 is about 3:21-3:23 and that is asking about a second per person. It's very possible for us to pick up some time on handoffs because they were pathetic at Regions, but Ridgeway and Cordova are going to be doing the real battling.
  14. Honestly, stop using the two hurdles thing as a crutch. For goodness sake, if you want to use more hurdles, just make them. For the first two years I trained I used hurdles out of PVC pipe. I'm sorry that you do not have the same facilities as everyone else, but I'm sure there are teams that are far worse off. Congratulations if you are beating all of the people in your region, but you might find yourself surprised at State.
  15. Man, a 16.55 is the top time turned in for guys...I wish I lived there.
  16. It could be more accurate if you measured using the top eight times instead of top ten. Then use the scoring scale for state (10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1, I think). That alone could make a big difference.
  17. Very interesting calculations, it will be interesting to see how those compare to the state championships. Seems like it will be close, but still off due to random performances and relay teams that won't be able to compete. Quite a bit of those points will be dimished for some of those teams in the regionals when only the top two will qualify for state. Great work, however, what are the links on the school names meant for? When I clicked on them they lead to "Site Not Found".
  18. If they play their cards right, Knoxville West girls will be a huge contender at state.
  19. Once again, this is a Track and Field forum. Post your petty insults in the correct forum please.
  20. Simeon Harris, he is just too good.
  21. Unless she gets hurt or gets into trouble with school that is. Happens quite a bit. But, honestly, I think she could be half conscious and win the Pentathlon. Heck, we don't have any boys that can jump 6 feet, and she is also amazing in everything else.
  22. Sorry, but 53 won't beat Bryan Webb on his bad days. It will take 48's and maybe a 47 to compete with him.
  23. It was a fantastic meet. Everything was run on time and efficiently. The track was amazing, it looked like a 400 meter track from inside, but it was actually 291 meters, odd. I got the priviledge of running against Simeon Harris in the finals of the 60 meter hurdles. He is an amazing runner and a nice guy too. He literally came from winning the long jump, to winning the hurdles, to immediately running the 60 meter (came in 4th), then to the 400. He definately has the endurance to do anything he wants and probably win. This guy should be amazing at states if he doesn't get hurt.
  24. Never count out the "asphalt boys". My middle school had no access to a track of any sort except for a 150 or so meter asphalt oval that was used for student pickup. The majority of people on our team didn't even know what relay exchange zones were or looked like. We still were the runner up in the county championships once and the winners twice. Although middle school is alot different than high school never disregard the teams with lack of facilities.
  25. Simeon Harris was definately incredible, I saw quite a bit of his backside in both of the hurdles, but I'll be priviledged to say I ran against him twice when he hits it big in college and beyond. His 47 second split in the 4x400 is absolutely incredible, may be off a little depending on how you time it, but I wouldn't put it past him to run a 48-49 second open 400. I never would have thought that he could basically win the meet himself. I know there were other Cordova athletes, but he scored about 75% of their points alone.
