Man among boys? I don't know about that. The last player to be "a man among boys" in this district graduated in 2002 from Oneida. Shannon is good, though and should be dominate for his senior year.

Shannon is good and should get Distrcit MVP. Qualls is good and can make some crazy shots(see at Oneida falling down backwards, throwing it off the top of the backboard and goes in) but probably won't win due to his teams' performance.

Clarkrange doesn't get enough credit. They have bad luck with some games and don't come out on the winning edge but they will be a good team in the tournaments.

Its taken 23 games but I think the Indians have finally gelled and realized what it takes to win. We will see tomorrow when we go to Harriman.

This is stupid. Both players are good, both make their team better and the team wouldn't be as good without either one of them so get over it, they're both good players.

I could see this thread if Oneida wasn't winning games but they are. They haven't played their best against some teams but could easily take the district and region tournaments. Also, I don't think there is too much "I" in this team. Besides Bond making the threes no one knows who is going to have the big game. This is a team of shooters and athletes who is going to be a good team in the tournaments, just give them time.

Why does everyone bring this up? They chose to come to Oneida.

If the scoreboard is right it says a 20 point victory for the Eagles. I don't think anyone saw this coming.

Oneida played well the second half and beat Oakdale by 27 or 28. It was 8 or 9 at the break and the Indians played defense in the 2nd half and took control of the game.

Talk all you want now, tournaments are where it counts. CAK can say all they want about the regular season but until the win a region title I din't think they should talk. They are a good team, but haven't gone as far as the others mentioned as far as postseason.

No disrespect to Melton or Shannon but they wouldn't put up those numbers without Vespie. Every school in the district has their best defender on him every night and that opens it up for these two. They are both good ball players. Shannon is a great penetrator and Melton has some good moves in the post but Vespie really opens up lanes against the defenses as do the other players. There's no disrespect I just don't think they would put up the same numbers without #33.

The Indians played better last night with a defense they haven't played all year which was effective against the Blue Devils, but I think the thing that won it for us was patience and shot selection on offense. When we rushed we turned it over but when we slowed it down we scored every time. Walker was hot last night and so was Orick. If this carries over to the tourneys then watch out for the Indians.

Its better to jus tignore this guy, he just wants to start stuff over nothing. If he plays for Harriman or is a fan, maybe they should worry about their next oppenent rather than nagging people.

This isn't the lowest point in SHS history they just came off a 7 game win streak. This is the best time to come through Huntsville in a long team and they go through one loss and everybody thinks it will be back like it was. Give them a break, they'll bounce back and play good in the tournaments, thats where it counts.

Friday against Harriman at home, Alumni Night.

The Highlanders played way below their level for this one, I thought this game was going to be decided by 10 or less, not by this margin.

The Indians are due a big game. They are yet to put up 4 quarters of good basketball(ex. Rockwood, York). The 4th quarter seems to be a struggle for the Indians but I think they might break out tomorrow against a very good Wartburg team. I have a question for someone, when was the last time Oneida won in the Dog Pound?

I usually do pick Scott to win. OS doesn't have anyone to guard Miller and they will have to crash down on him opening up the 3 for the shooters. The point for OS is a player and he pretty much beat Oneida when we played them but I don't think he will be that hot this time and i'll take Scott by 17.

It was a much better game than the first one. Oneida had chances to win but Rockwood did their thing and hit their shots. It seemed the last 3 minutes Oneida just got lost and had to foul to have a chance to win. Walker and Byrd played a good game for the Indians and Harvest hit a lot of shots in the 4th for the Tigers to keep the Indians at bay. Good game for both teams, just not the result I was hoping for.

The reason education becomes the topic is because Oneida has smaller classes which means their low grades from students count more than ours do. I wasn't meaning to bash i was just saying the reason most county kids come to Oneida is because we have a better education because we have less people meaning we have more time with the teachers. I probably should have said that the first time around but I didn't.

Actually Oneida didn't seperate themselves, it happend a long time ago and anyone invovled with the school now wasn't around back then. Those girls probably went to Oneida for a better education, and it is. Oneida offers a top 10 education so that's wh ythey come and probably for the girls basketball tradition. Thats proably the reason they come here.
