Comp, let me solve the mystery regarding the crowd. It was the normal band parent exodus - expedited by the fact the Indians were playing Boone. If you don't realize it, the D-B Band is the only institution in Kingsport which can trump the football team. That is, other than the debate on who is going to run downtown. Don't ever get in the way of the D-B Band. Are the band numbers down over previous years? Are you kidding me? DB even though down, has more fans then other local schools. Are you trying to say the reson DB has a huge crowd is only cause of band parents? No! Granted we are proud of the band; other schools should do the same. DB is 1 & 4 and still has a crowd. Other schools that are doing better still can't match DB's following.

Again, congrats to Boone. They won the game head to head. Keep this thread nice. Who does Boone play next?

I looked at the DB vs DB thread and I really don't see ANY crying. I see Dobyns Bennett fans saying the better team won. The Tribe knows they are in tough times. And to say Chris is not one of the best rb in east tn is insane. Granted every team know Chris is about all we have, and that he is coming at you most of the time. I know DB had 4 turnovers and South played Boone and was lucky to win. So, I don't see your point. Boone desrved to win. Any team that beats DB this year, great win. But you seem to always build DB up as if they are some super team this year, and tear them down when they lose. It is what it is. I never saw any DB fan kicking South when they were down. Thanks for the crap slung our way that ain't true.

Yeah. Clinto is getting killed with penalties. But before anyone assumes anything, DB has no advantage at home. DB is so hated in the local area that the refs give DB no help. Then again, the local refs botch so many calls either way sometimes I think they are drunk!

DB's kicker is just in the 10th grade. So he will be awesome soon. That specific set of skills is too much put on a young kid. Hee is doing great for his age. He got blocked this time as well.

I like the Clinton broadcasters. They will actually admit when Clinto is at fault. That one guy kinda has a funny voice when he does his commercials. Clinton is lucky to have those guys though. DB is down by one. Our kicking game is below our par.

DB is not nearly as talented as usual. They are young and have maybe 7 returning starters. Our rb is awesome, but our line is young, small, and needs experience. Farragut was getting through as a handoff was made. Tough night.

Granted DB is way down from usual, I disagree with you about Farragut. Maybe the Ads are younger then normal, but the talent is stacked. Farragut has size on the line, a good QB, some fast skill players, and a very large and powerful skill player or two. I will say Farragut is a top 5 6A team and if they stay together next year (unsure of how many seniors) it will be a great thing.

I am a DB for life. This year will be tough for DB. Our usually awesome kicking game is young and is not a weapon as usual, though a 10th grader will only get better and that is alot of pressure on a younger kid. We got beat on the line tonight, Farragut was bigger and created problems for Sensabaugh and Roop. There are some bright spots and we made some things happen. Farragut is a top 5 team in the state at 6A. DB is returns maybe 7 starters from last year, we are lacking experience. There is only room to grow.

Farragut is indeed a tough team and has really kicked but for the last several years (since 2004) but they have not made the semis every year as you had thought earlier. True True. Tennessee has only a fraction of the population as compared to most major college talent producing states. The combine comment is true as well. Tennessee by not having a state income tax has some of the lowest paid teachers/coaches in the USA. Tennessee high schools have less money to spend on good coaches, number of coaches, facilities, team camps, and etc. Tennessee has some of the lowest paid teachers in the state and it hurts.

First off, I would like to say that Jerry Adams was a great man and will be missed by all. He was my history teacher. I was in shock when I heard the news. Second, Compusatman made a great post and I like to kid him about being a South fan, just as he kids with me about being a DB fan. He points out that Knoxville (and for that matter the rest of the state) seems to have more raw talent when compared to the Tri Cities. If you don't believe me, see what our area teams do against teams from Knoxville or further west and the truth will show. As I have said before, DB can win 10 games in the reg season in football but it can all end in the 1st round because DB will always play a Knoxville team or a team further west. South has become a power of late and maybe could have beaten DB. But the same applies to South. South plays teams east of Knoxville, and then losses to teams Knoxville area or West even if it is a semi final round. The point I am trying to make is not about DB or South because their playoff outcome is the same whether first or 3rd round, both will lose to the Knoxville or west of Knoxville area. South is blessed to be able to stay in upper east TN for a few rounds unlike DB who must play an athlete loaded team from Chatt or etc in the 1st round. People, do not lie to yourselves. The rest of the state is faster, bigger, and stronger. Why? I can't explain. But, we do have some great coaches and more community pride when compared to other areas of the state and that goes a long way. Any rookies on here tht would like to see the stats, go to www.tssaa.org I don't like the situation we are in. I can't explain it either, but Knoxville and west just has bigger, stronger, and faster athletes and I live in Nashville now. Some of the local Nashville schools will have 40 kids on the roster. South and DB might have 80 or more. The 40 man Nashville teams will have more athletes most of the time. Before you knock me, see for yourself. Also, Maryville is included in my area.
