  1. Greeneville was without Jordan Short and Braylon Lloyd for their part in an incident with the girls team (which caused Greeneville girls to forefit tomorrow's semifinal with Cocke County) Game went 4 overtimes... Jefferson County had chances to win in regulation... and 2nd and 3rd overtimes. Greeneville, down those 2 starters already, had their 3 remaining starters foul out around the end of the 2OT. Regulation - Game was tied, and Jefferson County went to the hoop with 7 seconds to go, and was called for an offensive foul.. 1OT - Jefferson County overcame a 4-point deficit with 1:50 to play, and hit a shot in the paint to tie the game near the horn..... 2OT - Jefferson County was up by 3 in the final 30 seconds, Greeneville's Mashburn drilled a wide-open three that wasn't well defended. Jefferson County was fouled, but missed both free-throws and to a third overtime tied at 60. 3OT - Greeneville led by 3 in the final minute, Jefferson County countered with a three, got a steal on the inbounds for a layup with an And-1 to lead by three with 17.2 left....Greeneville ran the clock to 6 seconds, called timeout, got a wide open three look by Mashburn that missed badly, somehow they got a rebound, got it out to Mashburn who hit the shot as time expired (tied at 70) 4OT - Jefferson County really ran the clock down, leading 71-70 with 121 in the period. Had a 4-point lead with 22.3 left, but GHS hit a 3 to bring it to one... Jeff hit two free throws and Greeneville missed another great look from three as the game ended.
  2. Ray... West/Jeff still set for 7:30 p.m. tomorrow.
  3. Greeneville forefits the semifinal over Cocke County.
  4. CCHS was 4-of-11 from 3... they probably hadn't made four three-point shots in their last 3 or 4games combined... Best of luck in the upcoming softball season...
  5. Anyone who follows East know if they were instructed to foul Nelson before she was able to shoot in the final eight seconds of regulation?
  6. Statistically, Buda outperformed Fanney in every category.
  7. Dobyns-Bennett lost tonight to Sullivan South (at Dobyns-Bennett) in a District 1-AAA quarterfinal. Means one of the likely top 2 seeds in the tournament out of District 1 is gone. Should make for a bit of an easier road for the #3 team out of District 2 (not that life on the road in the region is easy...). District 1's four teams into the region are Tennessee High/Science Hill and Sullivan South/Sullivan Central. Semifinals are played on Friday night.
  8. The 6 has beaten the 3 in the girls tournament the last 3 years... Although 2007 really may not count with the 5 way tie for last.
  9. You have the times messed up... Opening round.. Cherokee-West is at 6 Greeneville-Jeff is at 7:30 Semifinals Cocke County vs Greeneville/Jeff is at 6 Morristown East vs Cherokee/West is at 7:30

  14. And then Greeneville goes to Volunteer and loses...and Stacia was ejected from the game. Cocke County has to correct their style of play and lack of execution, among other things in a hurry. Their 20+ win season all hinges on one game in 13 days (the likely 2-3 semifinal game with Greeneville). You can't go on the road and expect to win in the region quarterfinals. Cocke County hasn't played well in a couple of weeks, despite winning. It all showed last night, as they had 3 assists in the game. They average 12-13 a game this season. Their lack of rebounding was astonishing last night. Seemed like they were going through the motions. One note.. I've seen a lot on here with people doing their fair share of griping about the officiating in the conference (which uses the Smoky Mountain Association). However, it seems ironic, both girls coaches that have been ejected have come from the Tri Cities Association and one of the Knoxville Associations. Maybe everyone on here who thinks its much better off everywhere else may see differently...
  15. Yes. Feb 18th Girls play-in round 4 vs 5 3 vs 6 Feb 20th Semifinals 1 vs winner of 4 and 5 2 vs winner of 3 and 6 Feb 23rd Finals Friday losers in Consolation Friday winners in Championship Times and brackets officially set after next weeks games.
  16. Cocke County and Jeff County will be played next Monday.
  17. Even if GHS does beat Cocke County - the teams would have to flip a coin for the tiebreaker, with the head-to-head being split.
  18. Morristown West 8-0 Cocke County 6-2 Greeneville 5-3 Jefferson County 4-4 Morristown East 1-7 Cherokee 0-8 West ranked 2nd in the AP Poll. Only a few pts out of first. Cocke County ranked 9th again. Morristown West has clinched the top seed in the district tournament. Big week ahead for Greeneville and Cocke County. Whoever wins Friday night (barring any upsets tomorrow) gets the 2 seed, the bye and regional berth... Either way it seems the seeds are pretty well set for the tournament. 1) West 2) CC/Greeneville winner 3) CC/Greeneville loser 4) Jeff 5) East 6) Cherokee (Unless Cherokee beats East on Friday and won the coin flip on Saturday)
  19. Good showings around the IMAC the last two nights. Cocke County won by 10 at Pigeon Forge on Monday.. On Tuesday, Jefferson County beat PF by 11...Greeneville won at Maryville and Cherokee lost to Dobyns-Bennett by 6.
  20. AP Poll is out. Two IMAC Teams in This Week. Class AAA Pts Prv 1. Memphis Central (13) 17-1 163 1 2. Morristown West (5) 20-1 146 2 3. Hillsboro 17-1 138 3 4. Oak Ridge 19-2 137 4 5. Wilson Central 17-3 118 5 6. Millington 22-2 101 6 7. Clarksville (1) 19-1 76 9 8. Mt. Juliet 17-3 41 7 9. Cocke County 18-4 23 10. McGavock 16-2 14 Others receiving 12 or more points: Walker Valley 13. White Station 12.
  21. West wins over Greeneville. Hall and Dickson will cancel each other's points out mostly, although I suspect Hall will score more. The other four players will make the difference - and West has more offensive firepower. Jefferson County over Cherokee. Cocke County over East. Cocke County hasn't won at Isenberg-Siler since 2004-05 season however.
