  1. Pass Incomplete 2nd and 10 CHS at the West 37 :36 left......... CHS out of the shotgun, confusion, fumble? recovered, QB throws, almost intercepted......incomplete. Flags Down (Blocking below the waise on Cleveland)
  2. Cleveland to the West 37 yd line.... Under :46 left
  3. So is it all just rumors, or truth, about Lindholm leaving for Virginia. He looked nice in the jamboree against G'Ville
  4. Who looks to be the QB? RB? WRs? It will be hard to replace that much offense. I've talked to several people in the East high area, and they seem to think if they do anything at all this year, it will be on defense.
  5. Cocke County on 1270-AM WLIK (WLIK.Net) Morristown East football on WCRK AM in Morristown (No Link) Morristown West Football on WMTN/WMXK in Morristown (No Link)
  6. boonebaseballpaguy Region 2 is certainly wide open, I believe now. Is it Morristown West's to lose? No doubt. But, after last night, I believe West has lost a lot from 2003. I had originally predicted West to get the #1 seed, and #2-4 (and 5-7th place) to be a toss-up. West may certainly get the number one seed, but it's not a lock, I can assure you. all the teams seem to be even (Although Crockett won, It looked like East wasn't really showing much. I believe East will be down, but while I think Crockett is improved - how could they not be? Their 2003 team was the worst I saw in any classification, East should be better than them.), except just a few. Depth is a concern for all teams, outside of West and Greeneville. I was surprised to see most of the teams trot out 40-50 kids for the most part. This is AAAA, and it looks like A or AA in this region (Some of the larger Schools in Class A sometimes have 2/3rds of their boys on the team). This is a concern for now, and the long-term I believe here. Personally I believe depth will rule over the rest giving West and Greeneville slots one and two, with slots 3-5 being a shootout between Cocke County, Cherokee, and Volunteer. East is young, and it's not going to be easy to make up 2,000-3,000 yards of offense. And Crockett, is Crockett.
  7. Jamboree's usually not much of a show, regarding playcalling, etc. But here's how it went. David Crockett beat Morristown East 7-0 in the first quarter. Both teams back and forth early, then East hit a drive, driving down near the Crockett 20. East threw a jump ball down into the endzone....both the WR and DB went for it and got their hands on it. One receiver initially looked like he signaled a TD, but after a conference, it was ruled an INT and touchback. From there, Crockett drove 80 yards, when Josh Cloyd ran in from 3 yards out with 2:52 to play. East went 3 and out to end the game on their next possesion. In the 2nd quarter, Cherokee and Jefferson County battled to a scoreless tie. Cherokee fumbled early, which was recovered by Jefferson County at the Cherokee 42 yard line. Trying to mount a drive, Jefferson County fumbled the ball back with 11:22 remaining, as their QB tried to do his best Clint Stoerner impersonation. Jefferson County took the game's only real, long drive driving to about the Cherokee 6 yard line, before being stopped on 4th and 3 with 5:21 in the game. Greeneville took the third quarter against Volunteer with a 7-0 score. Lindholm looked decent for the Falcons, while however, Greeneville ran over Volunteer on the ground. The fourth quarter saw perhaps the most exciting quarter of the night, when Morristown West took on Cocke Co. Cocke County got a first down on the opening drive, before punting to West, Who then took the ball 80 yards, in about four minutes, for a Darius Ewing TD run from about 8 yards out. Cocke County then mounted a drive of their own, Getting sizeable gains on the ground and in the air. It looked like Cocke County had a 1st down, but a holding penalty called it back, but that was followed by a big 3rd down conversion, however 2 plays later CC QB Darius Collins threw an interception, however the defender then fumbled, and CC recovered on the 4, where they ran it in on the next play tying it up at 7 with 1:37 left. Don Woods left his starters in, and Minnich got a 17 yard pass to open the drive, follwed by a 3 yard carry by Ewing, and a 15 yard pass from Minnich to give West the ball the at the CC 40 with time running out. CC was called for offsides, moving the ball to the 35, and with under five seconds to play, West snaps the ball, gives to Ewing, who rambled 35 yards for the winning score, at 13-7. Halftime Awards: Longest Pass - Jeremy Smith - Morristown West Fastest Back - Chris Shiverdecker - Jefferson County Fastest Lineman Under 250 Pounds - Mark Farmer - Cherokee Fastest Lineman Over 250 Pounds - Rob Davis - Morristown East Longest Punt - Alan Estes - Morristown East Longest FG (40 yards) - Garren Parkins - Greeneville
  8. Wasn't that nasty of a fight. Greenback threw a pass, which was tipped once or twice, and picked off. THe kid making the INT ran down the field, and cut to the sidelines and was hit just a little late. A little pushing and shoving, along with a few smacks to the helmet, etc took place...
  9. Probably 6:00 PM Schedule is as follows 1st Quarter - Morristown East vs. David Crockett 2nd Quarter - Cherokee vs. Jefferson Co 3rd Quarter - Greeneville vs. Volunteer 4th Quarter - Morristown West vs. Cocke Co Halftime Activities Include: Fastest lineman, fastest back, fastest lineman over 250 pounds, punting, passing, and kicking.
  10. 3rd Quarter against Greeneville
  11. From what I was told, I was under the impression there was only a two-way scrimmage between Cocke County and Greenback. Who else was supposed to be involved?
  12. I had the final first team official scrimmage results (up until the 2nd teams began work when the officials left) at Cocke Co 21 (or 20) Greenback 13 Decent hits and defensive plays from both sides. Both sides also had spurts of good offensive plays. I can give a full run down sometime if someone wants it.
  13. 1st Quarter - Morristown East vs David Crockett (first year for them in awhile) 2nd Quarter - Cherokee vs Jefferson County 3rd Quarter - Greeneville vs Volunteer 4th Quarter - Morristown West vs Cocke County
  14. Cade Thompson has been looked at by Alabama I hear. I really really doubt however, the Five Rivers Athletic Conference guys mentioned will be looked at as serious D1 guys. Fanney went to Alabama last year, he's a bit undersized, and would probably sit at least 2 years under normal circumstances. However, with the Alabama situation as is, he will probably be forced into action sooner than he needs. Bradley James? Maybe D2. Carson Newman, or Tusculum perhaps. Minnich? he got Morristown West to the State Title game, but lets not kid ourselves making him a D1 Prospect. Perhaps he could be if he's athletic enough, but that would be at another position. He could, however excel, at the D2 or 3 level.
