  1. 12 or 13 of those penalties were personal fouls/unsportsmanlike conducts. From what I am told, we got literally beat up physically by a team that just ran it right at us and made us like it. The WC line controlled the game in the second half, and we didn't tackle well. Disappointing to hear we played dirty. I hear that both teams played a little longer than the whistles at times, it happens and in a game this high stakes things just got a lil outta hand. Boy the Coffee Co. Loss to White threw a wrench in things didn't it.
  2. Here is my addition for the week. Personally I hope the best for Warren Co. I played against you guys during the dark years of the mid 2000's when you went 0-40. I know how far you have come and it is good to see. However, don't give up on these kids. They have killed for this program to make it something to be proud of. Yeah the season is not what you all have dreamed about and thought it would be, but support your boys. I've been on losing teams and when you lose support from the community it really hurts you personally and your performance. As for this week, I see some points being scored. I know the jets can score quickly and in bunches. If we can throw the ball and can keep the warren defense guessing I see no reason why we can't win this game. Sidenote, does anyone know how many yards northcutt has rushed for this season?
  3. That could be quote of the decade. It was true though. I think we had 100yds rushing in the first four carries. Great first half by the jets.
  4. Officiating is not an easy job. I officiate intramurals and even with 7 players the game is faster than you realize. I cannot imagine how difficult 11 on 11 is. However, I know for a fact that some officials are biased. I had a track coach that officiated basketball. He would laugh and tell us about how he was going to hammer some team because he didn't like them, and then did it. It happens. I know other officials that are honest and give it their all. Either way, all we can do is trust the officials to do their jobs well, and if we have evidence of a clear bias or inappropriate behavior there are avenues through the tssaa to address this.
  5. I hope the administration sees what the fans do and continues to support this team. A quality special teams coach and another assistant or two could really help this team turn the corner in the next few years. I hope the boys continue to play with the same intensity and if they do, I see no reason why we can't finish second in this district. Lets get it back on track this week and get some revenge against York. Go Jets
  6. Good Game To both teams. Once again the Cavs got us, and the streak continues, but the boys fought hard. It would have been easy to give up down 23 that early in the third, but we fought back and for that I am proud. As for what we have to do to get better, our special teams are horrible. Every punt is an adventure. There has to be someone that can snap a punt, and our punter, though young really needs to be able to get some more distance on his punts. Kickoffs are going deep but we often give up big returns. If we hope to be a good team, our special teams has to improve. Anyways, good luck the rest of the season to both teams. Jets, lets get this thing turned back around next week against York.
  7. FWIW, Herald Citizen's projection is 2-1 for WC, White Co. that is. All the picks had the game by a td or less.
  8. The main difference I see in this game is in the offensive. Sparkman is pretty solid and settled, Thrower has been moved back and regardless of the amount of time you have practiced he will still have some rust. ADV White Co. White County has some decent backs and sparkman can run, but Warren Co. has Northcutt and Thrower in tow. ADV Warren Co. The Receivers from both teams are about the same. PUSH. The OL for White is young and inexperienced. The OL for Warren has the best player. Neither Team has been dominant. Slight ADV Warren. Co Offensive Advantage Warren Co. Defensively its hard to judge. Both teams have been blown out, and both teams have held a common team to a low score. Push Overall I think that Warren Co. Has a slight advantage and they should win by 4-9pts.
  9. This thing, though cool isn't always very accurate. It had us -8 to LA and we had a 34pt lead on them at the half...
  10. Aston Martin or Maserati, Rogan or Young. Its one of those questions with no wrong answer. If I had to pick I would say Rogan simply due to his added defensive ability.
  11. I never said livingston was taunting. I said the officials were the ones that were talking smack and they were the ones that I have a problem with. Here is a little English lesson for you, when you talk about a subject in sentence 1, and then follow up with the word they in sentence 2 as the subject, they in sentence two reffers to the subject in sentence 1. I have nothing against livingston. I have followed livingston and cheered for livingston since the age of 9. I never said they talked any junk or played dirty, nor did I say that Terryl said they did either. The beef I had was with the officials, you know the grown adults that are supposed to act like adults. Maybe you need a refresher on plural subject pronouns. King, I know there is a partial one on the cchs jets website. Just google cchs jets and it is the first thing that comes up. It only goes from 0-23 for some reason. the others I know of are 24 is aj dick, 28 is tyler howard, 29 is tyler wallace, 34 kyle pritchard, 80 dakota "moose" rucker, 92/54 jonathan cummings, 65 roger norris, 75 dillon yates, 60 aaron miller. Ed Grief at the Crossville Chronicle should have a complete list
  12. Coach Watt has coached against this Kingston squad many times, from Harriman to CCHS, to Stone, and I think he will have his team well prepared. If stone can keep pop a big play or two and control the line of scrimage, they will come out with the W. My Prediction Stone 34 Kingston 28
  13. It would be uncalled for if it actually happened. However calling someone "son" is hardly throwing around a racial slur. The official didn't hear him say anything, the only person that "heard anything" was the kid that got embarassed and he went to the ref trying to get a call. If the official had heard it then a penalty would have been assessed. I quit beleiving he said she said when I was in the third grade. Maybe you should too...
  14. The Jets are coming off of two big wins, and the Cavs seem to have righted their ship after two tough losses to open the season. Can the Jets pick up a win against Cookeville for the first time in 12 years, or will the Cavs take the victory and control of the district race?
  15. it got scary there for a minute, but overall great game Jets. Also, just curious, does anyone know what group refereed the game tonight? They were really unprofessional. Terryl said they were taunting him and were trying to find a reason to eject him. They also called back at least four touchdowns. we have had some penalties before, but this game was a penalty fest. Ill get a look at the game sometime this week, all I got was the radio broadcast and maybe they were warranted, but to throw a flag for tripping when the ball carrier has is standing in the endzone is a farse. It sounded to me like we got a really unfair treatment in the second half. And as far as livingston goes, by this time next year, this team is really gonna be dangerous. Your young qb has some real promise and he sure did get hot on us in the second half at one time he had seven straight completions. With another year of maturity, LA could be one of the stronger teams in the Upper Cumberland. Anyways, its always exciting when these two teams get together, and I'm sure we will see each other again on the roundball court or the baseball diamond this season. Good Luck over in Hogeye.
  16. watts got your boys playing well, interesting game coming up against kingston
  17. Last week, stone got beat by a more skilled team. This week they are the more skilled team. Stone rolls by 28+
  18. sounds like our backfield. this should be nothing new to our defense.
  19. I think we lost somewhere around 7 or 8. Most of our skill players are back and we actually gained a few players that were practice squad only due to grades. We also got a linebacker that hadn't played for a few years. Last year we played a lot of sophomores and juniors. It will be an interesting game on friday for sure. Hopefully the officials will put up their flags theis year and let the boys play. I remember watching the jets have 4 second downs in a row all for holding last year. Good luck to both teams. Go Jets
  20. He really is a great coach. I hate losing to him but you gotta admire what he does over there. And as for sparkman, I remember watching him in travel baseball and little league football. My brother's team played them a few times. Good athlete then, still pretty good from what I've been hearing. Is he getting any looks from colleges?
  21. Its cool. Is sparkman still the qb in sparta?
  22. Yeah makes me all warm and fuzzy inside remembering how I talked on here after my first beer too.
  23. Very true. Does anyone know what has been the problem with the Cookeville defense this season? They usually are pretty stingy and they normally wouldn't give up 40 points to anybody short of a state championship contender.
