You're correct TennesseeRob, Germantown has the most college signees in college football in the Shelby County and Memphis City Schools...I'm not sure about private schools, though. However, most of the guys Germantown sends out to the NCAA or other athletic association, are not going to top 25 teams...most go to the Univ. of Memphis, Delta State, Ole Miss, UTK, and random small colleges. Melrose, on the other hand, landed a huge deal with the signing of one of their players to the Univ. of Miami...that's crazy...lol. P.S. I'm not saying Ole Miss and UTK are not top 25 teams...the players that have gone to these schools have not had an IMPACT position on the team, as of yet.

Well, I have hope that Germantown will FIX the problems that have surfaced this season and make the CBHS game an awesome game, putting us at 3-1 overall. Even if we don't win, it's always fun to play CBHS...the crowd will be great, the fans get into the game, and I know they won't be as "ghetto" as Whitehaven was last Friday after their upset...standing on the mascot head in the center of the field and not shaking hands with our players....really classy....I guess there is some jealousy involved there....our ACT average and our neighborhoods... Anyways....now that I am done with how some people are never raised properly, I would like to wish CBHS a good, injury free game...with a Red Devil "W"! thumb
  3. Whatever, you come on here talking like you own high school football in West TN. W/e...we're only three games into the season and you act as though Collierville was next in line in MTSU...the Dragons don't have room to even think about smacking down on Gtown, ok...I think CHS has an awesome record of like 3-13 against Germantown since 1989...pretty impressive, if you are a Frayser fan.....oh wait, I forgot about those state titles CHS has won...oh, wait...never mind, that was only a random Class A Runner-up in 1971...silly me... Just keep up that "we tha bomb" attitude...it could very well pay dividends for a developing GHS team.
  4. Very sketchy game for Germantown...very tacky to lose against Whitehaven at home when CBHS beat them on neutral territory 27-6....if the team doesn't pull together and start clicking, prepared to be raped by CBHS (big time) and Collierville and WS and possibly Houston.... oh yea, Gtown football '03 baby...shout out to my senior year.....lol, good times.... '04 football and the Class of 2005....dang.....y'all will never live up to us! lol...

I'm going to the Germantown game against Whitehaven. I believe Scott Anglin will become better as the year progresses...sketchy start should lead to a much stronger finish...turning stone will be CBHS......
  8. Ken Netherland did reach 300 before leaving Germantown...his 300th came in 2001 against Cordova in the playoffs....i'd imagine he is almost to 320 by now...because he had the entire 2002 season at Germantown with 13 wins, plus he won 1 more in the 2001 season....

    Memphis

Yea, that was a crazy night for a high school football game...it indeed was an awesome game....kudos to the Bartlett football seniors in '99....good community support in Bartlett, also.....COME ON MEMPHIS WE CAN CREATE A THREE PAGE TOPIC!

    Memphis

yea, you're probably right about that.

    Memphis

Oh, but I think we all remember the drama of when Bartlett was a very, very solid program in the Memphis area...namely, 1999. Yes, I remember that Friday night, right after we had come off a victory against Collierville in the 2nd round of the playoffs, and then bam...it was over with a loss to Bartlett. I'm not trying to be a hater but my experience with Panther fans has been more positive than with Wildcat fans. I'm not trying to lay the smack down, I'm commenting on last year's third round playoff game at Bolton.
  13. Red, white and gray!!!
  14. I pretty much agree with BigSneaky; yet, I think Collierville's fans are the most abundant and organized while Melrose just has tons of people at the games....Germantown has a decent student section, coupled with typically a packed home side for every game.
  15. Collierville, hands down.
  16. Okay, now that just made me sound like a snob, which is what you sound like NW...just trying to fool you until you can see how you sounded from your first post. Just remember--most of the people living in Orange Mound are victims of circumstance and if you stay out you won't have any problems. It's been a long time since Germantown cheerleaders made a run through with "We're not snobs, we're just better than you!" on it, but now that I look back, statements like that just make the school look unappealing. I still like a rather risque run through for the CBHS game, which I can't post on this site, apparently, for the good times...
  17. As long as you don't include Germantown and the rest of the suburbs of Memphis in your bashing, then I completely agree with you about Memphis being a very substandard city. However, the suburbs aren't a bad place to live and it actually gives a person living there a superior feeling over people living within the city of Memphis.
  18. In all truth, it's probably just a combination of factors....with the quarterback situation as the real issue. Last year, the squad had awesome senior leadership, with a senior as qb and the majority of the line-up as well...this year, however, a sophomore has the reins...which could take some getting used to for the guys on the team...possibly more so with the upperclass guys. Covington isn't a bad team at all, but I agree...the score should have been no closer than 14 points for Germantown. They better step it up in the next few weeks! Come on Red Devils!
  19. Well, the defense looked solid...both offense and defense actually looked solid. I believe the team looked better than last year at this time....blocked a punt, forced two fumbles, and intercepted the ball. As for Collierville....I didn't see the matchup, but as for restaurants...there is a Thai restaurant in the old part of collierville and a mcallister's right by the movie theatre on market street.
  20. Germantown beats Bartlett 20-0!!! Last year Germantown beat Bartlett 7-0...interesting!
  21. Why are you so bothered by this game? Obviously Ridgeway fans are few and far between on this site...therefore, you will not get an answer...go to the game and forget it about it!
  22. Nice job on the site...you know, if you would email germantown, just like i have, and showed them your site, that might be enough to convince them to finish what they started!
  23. Okay, last year in our media guide, Germantown promised to have a site up for the football team within months...now it has been a year and all I get after I click on the white "G" in the center of the intro page is another page with only a red frame. Everybody try it and then please email the school with me and beg of them to please finish the site that was supposed to be very informative and interesting... the "football" site..... Gtown football the school site.... Gtown High Thank you for helping better the state of Tennessee football!!!
