Well, I have followed Sweetwater ball very close for the past couple of years and I can tell you there is no one on the team to take the place of Moore and Lathem. There are some good young players on the team but still have alot of learning and growing to do.

yeh they have good feeder programs alright. William blount and heritage feed them both. Why do you think they can't win. Sort of reminds you of a private school. I wonder how many players pay tution or should I say how many should be paying. Blount county has Alcoa, Maryville, william blount and Heritage. All the good players in the county go to Alcoa or Maryville. Some players come from further away than that. If all of the players in blount county went to the school they should then you would have four average teams in blount county and not two good teams. If ever county took all the good players and put them on one team they would be the same. Go get your players to compete.

35 to 7 final score. Its time for alcoa to put up or shut up. I will be the first to say lipscomb will roll big on alcoa.

fourth quarter 35 to zip. Lipscomb is killing them. Good pasture only has 43 total yards with 11 minutes to go. You better hang on Alcoa.

My point is Alcoa has only played one real team(maryville) which they lost. The real team before that was lipscomb which they got killed. The other teams they have beat this year are down. They have beat teams that are rebuilding. They win one region game(oliversprings) and people are saying they are going to win state(look at oliversprings record). Beat Sweetwater and Rockwood then you can talk region champs. After that I wish you luck.

Wagglert, They should win state. HaHa! Did you forget the 55 to 6 thrashing they took last year from lipscomb. But I won't talk about that now this is about Alcoa and Sweetwater. If Alcoa thinks Dustin Latham is the only player that Sweetwater has then Alcoa better watch out. Besides the way everyone has talked all year Alcoa only has three players on the team. They will have a hard time beating 11 with only three. Football is a team sport and Sweetwater will bring the whole team. Just remember both of the Alcoa games last year Sweetwater lost them because of turnovers. If Sweetwater holds on to the ball they will come out winners in this one. Sweetwaters line is just to big and strong for Alcoa.

Bigcat1, You don't know as much as you think you do. You shut jones down because he was standing on the side lines. I would take Moore over jones any day of the week. I have seen them both play since they were about 5 years old. Moore is an all around better athlete. He had to play way to many positions last year. I think he played every skill positon there is last year. We will see if you have anyone that can cover him. I don't think you do.

Sweetwater's Jeffery Moore 6 2' 195 very fast and great hands.

I have seen both teams play and I will have to go with Sweetwater on this one. Sweetwaters defense looked very good against a very speedy South pitt team. Sweetwaters line is big and fast and we all know they don't have to open a very big hole for Latham he makes his own. Sam throws the ball well at times he still seems a little shaky. When he does throw it well they have one of the best recievers in the area named Jeffery Moore. I have yet to see anyone that can cover him. If Sam gets the ball any where near him it will be 6 points. If I were Rockwood I would not be thinking to much about Midway beating Sweetwater. You can't count to much on scrimmages. I think in the other scrimmages Moore had around 8 tds. He scored one on the first series against midway and then left the game with a hurt hand and Sw pretty much quit throwing. Sweetwater wins this one.

Okay, I will try and make this short. O.S. has a good program. They have went to the third round the last two years. They had a very good team last year that had Alcoa beat but let it slip away before the half. They lost alot of players and are having to rebuild. So I will have to go with Alcoa. But by the end of the season O.S. will come around. One more thing. Alcoa seems to think they already have the region title and a state champ title. Let me refesh your memory. Last year 2nd round. Sweetwater ran the ball at will racking up nearly 400 yards. Only to give you the game in the fourth with turnover after turnover. You could not stop their run last year what makes you think you can this year.(They only lost a couple of line men). Third round O.S. clearly had the better team only to give it to you on turn overs. Fourth round Lipscomb mopped the floor with you. So what makes you think you can put a team out like Lipscomb this year(if you get past Sweetwater and Rockwood).

I agree with Tank on Jones and Moore. Monroe county is in an area that does not get alot of news media or both of these players would be at the top of the recruiting list. I have seen both play. And both are top notch and I would put them up against any db in the state. At the Tn camp Moore turn some heads by catching more td passes than anyone there. He burnt every db they put on him. Last year at Sweetwater he had to play out of position at qb. Ths year he is back at wr and they believe they have a qb that can throw him the ball. Jones has already commmitted to Wake Forrest and Moore has several schools talking to him. I wish them both luck.

Heard through the grapevine that Moore may have broken a bone in is hand during tonights scrimmage. This would be bad for the cats offense and defense. Hate to see any player get hurt, hope he is okay.

I was at the game also. I will have to say that when sweetwater shows up for regular season games the other teams are going to be shocked when they see how sweetwater mixes it up now. The team looks way better this time this year than they did last year. They have some real tallent on the team and I think everyone is under rating them. I do have to mention that I thought Jeffery Moore made some great catches. I don't believe anyone in our region can cover him one on one.
