People act like coach Meadows can't turn around a football program and they don't want him to win because he is school/talent hoping. Alcoa went 7-7 the year before they won state in 2000 and 12-2 the year after and if im not mistaken he was at Sequayah I think im not sure but, he turned that program around with little or no talent. He has a legitamate reason for leaving Alcoa and Jeff. Co. so if you don't know him don't hate. thumb WB will still lose though.

Alcoa may pull this one off because I think it's going to come down to defense and special teams. From the looks of WB's past 2 games they can't seem to stop anything or get anything going. They haven't adapted to the wing T and I don't think this week is going to be any different. WB is to impatient on offense. High scoring game but Alcoa pulls this off in a close one. thumb

There's a lot of good teams right now but im going to have to say Oak Ridge or Knox. Central for best team. It's a close race.

Randall Cobb- Alcoa. I can't say he's the best because I haven't seen many good freshmen play but he's going to make a good QB.

Well FBEmeritus rebelron, a few more as well as yourself has given him his props. I didn't say he was the greatest back to ever run the ball but he is a good back. And as for our opponents go I hated to lose to Maryville again just because of the rivalry hype around Blount Co. but it's not a big deal when Maryville beats Alcoa. It's usually a given because the school population which creates a lot of depth in football. Maryville is not dominating either from the looks of it. They have a lot of things they can work on also so don't just make it like Maryville is the big bad wolf this year. In the county yes but in 4A play not by a long shot. Only time will tell. My bad CHSmutt. I did get my facts mixed up but Rockwood did barely beat sweetwater. I mean if they had trouble with them they are definently going to have trouble with us. Rockwood will get blown out. Thats not a threat that's a promise and I can run my mouth off to a team thats nothing and hasn't been in years. HaHaHa. ROCKWOOD WILL LOSE BIG!!!! thumb

Ole' duckie didn't get the 150 yards we preached about in the Maryville game but he did get them at Oliver Springs. He does have over 400 yards and about 8 touchdowns in 3 games so I wish you Maryville fans would give him his props and stop hatin' because he is better than Byner and Tallent. And don't make it like Alcoa will win just because WB isn't that good.

Alcoa did get beat no exuses. Players just didn't make the plays they were supposed to but Maryville did not dominate. The game was always close. Alcoa always had a chance because of forced tournovers but they didn't capotilize on those turnovers. Maryville never just dominated so you Maryville fans can save the should of, could of, would of's. Alcoa will dominate the 2A region but I cant say the same about Maryville. Poor takling is the only reason Byner had as many yards as he did and Thompson is not on point like he is hyped up to be. Alcoa just need some corners that can actually play.

Could you Maryville fans please stop talking about your backfield like they are just a huge threat. Antonio Byner is not good by far. He will be lucky if he could start D-3 ball if he goes to college. Tallent is a good power back straight up ,but Byner isn't a threat. He's always played in the shadows of Maryville backs and will do the same this year. Alcoa wins 14-17. Have heart fellas and knock off the top dawgs. thumb

This will be a good game but determination and heart will be the test for Alcoa. It's going to be an emotional first half and Alcoa has to keep fresh legs. We're going to need the 2nd string to step up big time this game because the 1st string is going to play their heart out and by the time the 2nd half come there's a large possibility Alcoa can be tired. I have faith in my boys though and you know im on your side so good luck fellas. Time to whoop @$$. thumb

I think we can give Maryville a run for there money this year and with no doubt put a L on WBs record due to there weak defense. Those steroids are really slowing them down over there at Willie B.

Quote me if im wrong strawcontainer but I did'nt say Alcoa is going to stomp over every team we play and you can't go off and say Alcoa's expectations were high last year because they weren't. Alcoa went father than anybody expected last year so get your facts right and don't act like Alcoa hasn't beat Maryville at Maryville either. I think duck will actually be close to 1500 this season and I also agree with you on the margin of victory too. I think they can beat WB by a little bit more and SD will probably be blown out the water because it's the 1st game and our boys have a lot to prove. We can't have our hopes high and then get beat 1st game by a non-conteder team. We will win big friday night. thumb

I was at Alcoa's practice on Monday with James Rainer. (stink). But back to orange crush. Out of the teams you named the only team that will be a challenge is WB and Maryville. Everyone else will get demolished. Same as last year buddy!!! thumb

Our week 0 practices are always shakey because we always tend to look past the 1st game and focus on Maryville. SD will not be a slight bump in the road. Just a game to get our stats up. And you were'nt at Alcoa practice on monday because I was there and there was'nt anybody there that was'nt from ALCOA.
