  1. First, I'd like to congratulate Sycamore on a great season. Hillwood fans are just excited, thats all. First time in the quarterfinals (if not ever, than at least in a real long time), 12-0 record, and DOMINANT so far in the playoffs. Revenge over last years embarassment to NW and a recent thrashing of a previously undefeated Stratford team (who's fans talked about like the White House fans....interesting) are a couple good reasons that fans might "pop off at the mouth." If you Sycamore fans don't mind, some of us would like to celebrate some current success a little. Remember, we're still playing.... That being said, this weekends matchup should be closer than Hillwood's last game, but unless BDP!!! can really lock down the Toppers' running game, they will also log their first loss of the season. Oh yeah, and the passing game. Oops, left out the defense that's virtually shut down NW and another of Region 6's finest in Stratford. Looking forward to the match-up with the Blue Devils. Antonio Lewis may enter the game as the running back, but he may end up the president of the White House.
  2. Where did you hear this from? Anyone know anything about Trinity's bowl game status and/or the Blue Ribbon Bowl with Nashville Christian?
  3. should be a good game. hillwood by 3.
  4. who are the main candidates and who will be the three finalists and winner??
  5. Wow!! With all those threats, I bet MP would give Riverdale a run for their money. Is Mt. Pleasant moving up to 5A next year, or maybe D-II 3A? Along with that list of threats come a list of players and things they do from Cascade and any other team for that matter. Not that MP hasn't done a fantastic job this year, but they aren't the second coming of the Christ. MP may cruise through this game and the first round, but after that their undefeated record will be tested in a serious way. MP 45, Cascade 13
  6. Good point there at the end. Prediction wise... MP over FRA/Ezell. DCA over Cascade. (if thats who finishes 4th....either way DCA and CPA win) DA over Wayne Co. CPA over Huntland. I hate picking against Mt. Pleasant just out of pure respect for what they've accomplished this year, but i see CPA wanting DCA again, and bad enough to pull it out. So.... CPA over MP. (if i could call it a tie i would) DCA over DA.....again but closer. If that all goes through, predictions may continue. Good luck to these teams in their first round games. Just thought I'd add my $.02 .
  7. It'd be hard to sell Ezell as the 4th best team considering they lost to NCS friday, but NCS lost to FRA, who Ezell beat. Ezell did turn the ball over to NCS 6 times, but NCS also gave FRA the ball countless times inside their own territory. Oh, and not to mention Ezell's only 2 scores against FRA came off an INT and fumble returns for TD's. As far as the DCA/CPA matchup goes, I have a lot of reason for an opinion, but can't seem to have one. More than likely it will just come down to who makes the least BIG mistakes. Region 6 wise, Mt. Pleasant will dominate until a Region 5 team beats them in the playoffs.....that simple. I know nothing about USJ, and little about Boyd besides they will be in the champ. game again unless friendship or Midway can pull a miracle. Thanks for your input comrads.
  8. You can replace Ezell too. And Davidson may be soon to drop....
  9. Ok then.... What do you think about the Region's playoff picture? Obviously the CPA/DCA game will decide the top 2 spots, but the next 2 are pretty open. With a win Friday night, Davidson will likely finish 5-2 in the region and 3rd place, with Jo Byrns being their last game. With a loss Friday, Davidson will still likely take the 3rd place spot, unless Nash. Christian beats McEwen in their final game, and takes the 3rd place spot. If Ezell beats Jo byrns and FRA loses to CPA, Ezell could potentially be tied with FRA and NCS, in a tie-breaker in which NCS beat Ezell, Ezell beat FRA, and FRA beat NCS. If FRA were to beat CPA (by some miracle), they would undoubtedly make the playoffs. Tons of scenarios that could happen, and some very interesting games left to be played, especially the CPA/DCA matchup that you've analyzed in another thread. Just thought I'd ask for an opinion from a knowledgable co-fan.
  10. Divepix, I'd like to ask you some questions about CPA and make some comments away from the board. What is your e-mail? You seem knowledgable about CPA and Region 5, so I would appreciate it if i could discuss with you on that. Thank you. Concerned
  11. I would also go with Fisher. CPA seems to have a tough defense and he is one of if not the leader of that physical D. divepix, what is your email? Also, Wheeler of FCS seems to have a good ability to tackle the football.
  12. It's too bad that NCS thinks they already have this game won. Considering they haven't beaten FRA in at least the last 3 years, I'm concerned this may not be the year they will. Harpeth wasn't ready and DCA was that much better. Of course, the excuses will come with each loss and the self praising with each win. Keep it up guys!!!
