  1. Get a clue! It is a conference game. wake up or get out.
  2. Do you think that the TSSAA is kicking themselves for voting down the Z-Plan (which would have put everyone back into three classifications) now that the price has gas has gotten to where it is. It is becoming very expensive for many teams to just play their regional games now. Wonder if there is any talk of going back to the three classifications for this reason.
  3. Lowe is at best local college talent. His size will be what limits him. Way too small to be in a big time program. Look for him to have a great year this year though.
  4. They may also want to change their thinking on the post since HV handed them their tails on Friday night!
  5. Any ideas who will be on the hill?
  6. Don't be stupid! The lights were turned on in the second inning, long before there was any score and only about a quarter of them came on then. There is no way that you could plan something like that. How do you figure that a 1-1 game coming to bat with the top of the order is on the verge of being put out anyway. Don't hate the player, hate the game. There was nothing that Unicoi County could have done but agree to play the game the next afternoon (which they offered to do). The TSSAA made this decision, not Coach Baxter or Unicoi County.
  7. TSSAA was the one that made the call. The head official called them at 9:30, when it was apparent the lights were not coming back home. They called back about thirty minutes later with the ruling.
  8. It is baseball. Just something to pass the time for football to roll back around. You can see it when there are more people at a spring scrimmage than at a regional baseball final.
  9. Anyone know what happen with North on Tuesday?
  10. Central couldn't score 58 points on Thursday vs. air.
  11. Just glad to be the first to respond to this. That is assuming that anyone else will interact with such ignorance. The fact that the Elizabethton team of two years ago was even put in the same category as this Tn High team should say it all. This is the best ML team since the Betsy teams of the late 90's. This is also the first time in years that Region 1 has a legitimate chance of moving past Region 2 in the playoffs. I understand that you love your team but lets be realistic. This is the same Central team that lost to Johnson County (20-0) and only won by three points at Volunteer, who can barely line up. Hope that all works out against South for you this week, but the best thing to do is just let TN High along and hope that they are flat and don't hang 70 on your beloved Cougars. P.S. Maybe someone can explain the Riverdale reference. You are talking about a whole different level of football in that sentence. I'm not even sure that any East TN team should even be mentioned in the same post as Riverdale unless the initials are DB (and I don't mean Daniel Boone).
  12. That was my arguement exactly (of course I was in the middle of the field with no timeout) but I had a friend who is a referee that pointed out that although he was wrong for doing it to me, he was well within the rules. It is designed to speed up play during the game from what I understand.
  13. The other thing to know is that it is the ref's discretion as to whether to start the clock back or not. In my second year coaching we were in this situation at the end of a game and the other team took a delay. They marked off the five and restarted the clock. I went nuts but did find out later that he was well within the rules restarting the clock. I also found out the true meaning of a "homer"
