  1. Well from a White House fan, best of luck to you guys thumb
  2. Oh and they have a Mr. Football candidate in the backfield with Ricky Ladd. thumb Almost forgot....
  3. Well he can make comments like that to me but when he starts saying that about players then it would be against everything that the program at White House stands for not to say something. Anyways, White House is picking up exactly where it left off in Melrose last year. They return a solid backfield and replace an exceptional QB from last year with a very mobile QB this year. This year and last year are going to be different as far as the passing game is concerned. Opponents can expect more rolling out on the edge, play action, and bootlegs than they did last year. The toughest thing to replace from last years squad is the Offensive and Defensive lines. Last year they had only one junior start on the offensive line and he will be the anchor of this years line. If last years line was 10, this year it would be a 7. The strength of the blue devils this year will be on the defensive side of the ball. The leading tackler last year returns this year, except instead of playing LB, he will start at Defensive tackle. I have seen him play D-line in a scrimmage, i am telling you he is 10x better than he was at LB. He will be one of the best in the state, guarantee it. The strength of the defense will be in the Linebackers, where they return all starters from last year. The secondary return a free safety and they also will be strong this year. This team will be the main contender to knock off Fulton and win the Championship in 3A.
  4. The middle is where it is at this year. If you look at the East and West, you have a few dominant teams and the rest are middle-of-the-road teams. The middle has the dominant teams plus the rest of the teams are average to above average. More consistency in the Middle in my opinion.
  5. Do you have any idea what you are talking about? Do you talk personally to the coaches and faculty at White House and do they tell you that the only reason Ricky is accepted at White House is because "the boy can play"? How ignorant can you possibly be? I happen to know Ricky on a personal level and he has been through things that you could not even imagine. Ricky is an incredible person and it really bothers me when people post crap like that. You need to take a hard look at yourself in a mirror man and ask what kind of person you are. I dont know you but that comment was very insensitive to Ricky and to White House, so that leads me to think that you, yourself, are a piece of crap. So next time you decide to post something here on Coach T, make sure that it doest slander a school or a program. Have some respect.
  6. Sorry about the numbers. Total enrollment is what it should have been. I have been reading too many of HLHS posts
  7. Beech has been rebuilding the past few years and the hiring of a new coach will only help them at this point. They are 4-16 over the past two seasons, winning only one last year. They are lacking some good, solid interior lineman, but make up for it in the backfield. They will be young, they'll probably be smaller than all the teams they face, they'll be slower than most the teams they face, but so was White House and look how they did in that region. Dont count Beech out. I see them being a .500 or better team.
  8. Pearl-Cohn is going to suprise everybody in this region with their speed, except for White House because they have already played them and have seen how fast they are. Greenbrier runs a Wing-T offense, which is a good offense to run if you have 3 or 4 pretty good running backs and a solid offensive line that can move. Wing-T is designed to beat defenses to the edge and to cause confusion with all of the misdirection. The only problem is that Greenbrier has played in a region that consisted of teams that have average speed on defense, so they could easily beat them to the corners. Pearl-Cohn is not a slow team, they are actually pretty friggin' fast on defense AND on offense. And they happen to have a pretty good coach in Coach Fitzgerald. Add in that Greenbrier graduated a large senior class and Pearl returns almost everybody, and I would put Pearl over Greenbrier. I think the coaches got it right. -TM
  9. As far as making sure he's legal, I am positive that the coaching staff in White House would NEVER put there team in a bad situation with a transfer or eligibility issues. So you can go ahead and assume that he is legal. You know, now that I think about it, one of the players did tell me about a big lineman that tried out who could have started that got turned away because of eligibility issues. So Coach Porter obviously understands the rules and the consequences of allowing a transfer to play. As for coming from Metro to the City, I am sure he'll find himself in a totally different enviroment. For example: Total Enrollment at Hunters Lane: 1768 Total Enrollment at White House: 883 I'd say there is a bit of contrast.
  10. Look at how many region 4-3A teams are in the top 10. The winner of this region will play against Fulton and maybe a Gold Ball.
  11. Same questions everybody else is asking. I guess we'll know in a couple of weeks when everybody suits up.
  12. The coaches will make sure they won't overlook anybody. When they were in 4A, they were 39-10. That is pretty good considering they had a 3A roster. So it would be foolish to say they "better focus hard", because they have been "focusing hard" on every team they've played the past 4 years. thumb
  13. Nothing like running sprints when its 90+ degrees out after a 4 hour practice with 20 pounds of equipment on!!!!!! Did someone say Junction Boys!!
  14. White House has a passing game against Trousdale Co. this friday. White House coaches made sure they played the best before the season started. So far they have scrimmaged Gallatin, ranked 20-something in the state in all classes (beat them 3-0) They will scrimmage: David Lipscomb, Ranked top 10 in 3A Hendersonville, also ranked in above WH Smith Co., not sure what they're ranked, but are usually good White House will be ready to play come Aug. 26. thumb
  15. Every posistion has it's difficulties. But the QB has to be the leader on Offense and the LB has to be the leader on defense. They are the hardest along with O-line.
  16. One of the players I talked to said is name was Rodgers Bates or Bain or something along those lines. Said he played D-Line at Hunters Lane. Did I already say that he was big? Well, He is HUGE
  17. Some news from White House. They just recieved a transfer from Hunters Lane (Go figure) today and this guy is a mammoth. He's 6'5", 310 and the kids there who saw him said he moved like he weighed about 210. He's a sophomore and will be resuming team workouts ASAP. Big things already expected from this guy, we'll see what happens. -TM
  18. My vote goes for Linebacker because he is basically the quaterback of the defense. Depending on what kind of defense you run determines how involved your linebacker play is. For example, a 4-3 defense is much tougher to run as a linebacker then a 50. Linebackers must read the call from the sidelines, sometimes they can become pretty lengthy, make sure everyone is in the proper position, know if hes involved in the coverage, who to cover if he is in the coverage, know which way the front is moving, making an alignment call, knowing where to and where not to go if a blitz is called, reading the guard or fullback or whoever he is keying off of, making sure his steps aren't lateral, and then tackling the guy with the ball. Then doing it all over again the next play. Add in that you are mentally and physicaly tired, and it can become pretty difficult. O-line gets my next vote.
  19. White House scrimmages David Lipscomb. Not sure on the date though. Also scrimmage Smith County and Hendersonville. They get Beech in the jamboree.
  20. I have heard that there is a QB controversy in KISS. Frontman Gene Simmons has transfered, leaving the open QB spot to be filled by Paul Stanley. That's really going to hurt them in their season opener against Black Sabbath, where Osbourne is expected to post big numbers this year after recouperating from a torn MCL.
  21. Does White House have what it takes to win their region, make it to the Semi's where they will more than likely play Fulton, win and go to the 'Boro to play for the Championship? My answer is..... Maybe
  22. Everybody talkng like the Week 4 matchup with Jesus is going to be the game to watch but I'm telling you, the Week 5 matchup with the Sun is going to be one to decide the region.
  23. You think THAT is a tough schedule Check out White House's for 2006: 1. Portland 2. Riverale 3. Alcoa 4. Jesus 5. The Sun 6. The Entire State Of California 7. KISS 8. Green Bay Packers 9. Detriot Pistons 10. Colorado Avalache Top that!
