Well Jasper better toot their horn while they can because it will be silent most of the year. Jasper just doesn't have the talent to compete with SP year in and year out these days. They especially don't have the talent to compete in their region . So just get used to that old purple horn just sitting there silent game after game and the Jasper faithful sit in empty stands like they have the past few years.

Eddie Brown, Maion Co. 1969 graduate has a ring with the Washington Redskins and he also played in the USFL. He had a long profesional carreer. Eddie Moore , South Pittsburg graduate currently playing for Miami Dolphins with some great all pro linebackers.

Funny that you mention South Pittsburg. It looks like SP will most likely be the consistent favorite for their region. Mark my word if that coach "Son of Great Pumpkin " or grider or whatever his name is doesn't get his head out of the sand he will be a loser again. He had a 6"5" reciever in 1A football and refused to put someone in at QB who could get the ball to him. SP had freshman come in at Lookout Valley and save Grider's rear and I think he may have played one other set of downs at QB all year. That school has more raw talent year in and year out than most schools in all of the Chatt. and less a coach than Richard Hardy. Note: they don't field a team.

Have the players been named for All State this season? Does anyone have a list of them and the honorable mentioned players?

I think the Jasper fans should take note of this game because it speaks loudly of both programs. Pittsburg has a very down year and Jasper during a decent season. There best team in a few years lucks up and beats the Pirates. It just goes to show you Jasper football just doesn't measure up. thumb

I hope the refs who coached the Jr. high game in Jasper last night don't call the game tonight. They were terrible.......TERRIBLE......You have to hand it to a good SP Jr high for beating those refs.

Your right, they better watch out for any and everybody. But you better watch and make sure you seize the moment because you know in the not so distant future yet another SP team will be speeding by you.

Obviously when SP looses a game or two it is a very big deal.. I can't believe the entire valley takes such notice. Oh , I guess their just used to getting spanked so badly they have to seize the opportunity to gloat..

Any info on who scored the goal and who had the assist for Fairview? I think both of these teams are much improved and growing programs. With more commitment from the school and some more coaching I think this group of Fairview girls could accomplish great things. thumb

Fairview is a young team and constantly getting stronger. They are a team of freshman and sophomores and have about 6 key players that make up the core of a great bunch. They tied Hillwood tonight 2-2. I think someone in this District just might get upset by this team come tourney time.

One point to make! Athelets? Skill positions? who has them ? You know DANG well who. Anothe Collquit win on SP.If any coach in the state had SP's athelets they could at least beat a subpar Grundy. It's about the game!!!!Not the field!!! Too many teams are cancelling for this reason. Try playing in Engaland where it is always messy. I just think too many Football teams have too much say over when girls soccer can be played. Come on teams speak your mind to you coach and school officials. Show them what futball is all about! thumb
