  1. Seen Bryson and Mathers both play. Mathers is the best highschool running back I have ever seen. Take him away from Blackman and they are below average on offense. The kid dominates games.
  2. Atleast you didn't eject me from the game!!! I should have been less lazy and edited my original post. Crap - back to the JV again........
  3. What's the Smyrna Injury Situation? We're so banged up they're thinking about suiting me up as the water boy so HE can play....
  4. P.S. Final rushing stats for Franklin the other night against Brentwood were 78 yards. I think you'll have even a harder time running the ball against Oakland and if the game gets 1 dimensional, look out.
  5. Dear Franklin, Welcome to big boy football. My prediction. Franklin will score some points but Oakland overpowers them in the long run. Too much size and speed. Don't forget the MacDaniel/Crawford factor either.
  6. Welllllll lookeeee here. Were back............... Don't you just love it. Smyrna wins the toughest district in the state hands down and is rewarded by playing a District Champion who is rewarded for winning their district by being an 8th seed. The first game is a 22-20 win on the last play. By the way, who does Aydelot have pictures of? Milo118!!!!! Where are you?????
  7. Good question. From the other side of the field I thought the same thing. I thought it would either be offsides on Brentwood or a dead ball/false start on Franklin. However, ability to run the ball and turnovers were the key to the game. A great hard fought typical Franklin/Brentwood nailbiter. Both teams played hard. Prayers for Jason Springer. I hate seeing kids get hurt.
  8. Actually the real Nail Biter was the final of Project Runway!!!
  9. Gawd, you know its a bad game when you insult both schools and nobody even responds......
  10. Great Article from the Tennessean on tonight's game: Tennessean Article I'm done analyzing, psycho-analyzing, woofing, smack talking, and making fun of FBFORME for his boundless optimism. In the end run, the team that tackles well and doesn't make any mistakes will win. I'm really sad also that this is probably my last BHS vs. FHS game as a parent. . Its been a heck of a ride!!! Good luck to both teams tonight. 2 great teams, 2 great coaches, and lots of great fans! Lets have a great game with no injuries. Go Bruins!!!
  11. Another incredible offensive exhibition by both teams. I bet the Erickson kid for Indy had a great game. Just ask him. My pick for player of the year in Region 11......
  12. Hey Answer21, I'm not trying to make any points through stats nor whining about the schedule. Personally, I think its a heck of alot more fun to play the studs in Rutherford County out of district but it can come with a price and thats IMHO. I put the stats up as I thought they were interesting. Your point about who made the schedules is right on. Clayton's point in the paper yesterday about the schedule being tougher last year is proven by the percentages. What the stats do show is this: Who probably runs the ball well and controls the line of scrimmage will win the game. But thats football most of the time. It will all get decided on the field Friday night by the kids and we'll all get to watch and whine or rejoice about it afterward.
  13. Good luck to both teams! If i wasn't going to the only decent game in 11-aaa this year, i would be at this one with my ear tuned to Riverdale/Blackman. My edge is to Oakland based upon coaching.
  14. I thought it might be interesting at this point to look at some statistics: 2010 - 2011 Franklin opponents winning percentage: 34% 2010 - 2011 Brentwood opponents winning percentage: 53% 2009 - 2010 Franklin opponents winning percentage: 55% 2009 - 2010 Brentwood opponents winning percentage: 55% Franklin Average Points per Game: 27.8 Brentwood Average Points per Game: 27.9 Franklin Rushing Yards per Game: 73.1 Brentwood Rushing Yards per Game: 206.2 Franklin Passing Yards per Game: 149.98 Brentwood Passing Yards per Game: 144.3 Kuivenen Stats: 90 for 162 for 1,348 yards, 9 tds & 7 ints Webber Stats: 90 for 155 for 1,262, 17 tds, 9 ints I'll have some more later....
  15. As for linebackers, 2 best outsides are the Bryant kid from Hillsboro and Killett from Brentwood. Echetebu and Hoop from Brentwood are the best insides. Best QB is Webber with Kuivenen(Sorry if i muffed the spelling) a close second. Best tailback is probably Dye but I'm not sure if he has played enough games to merit it. After that, I'm not sure who it is. Best O-Lineman is Patrick from Brentwood. In a class of his own. Indy's kicker is probably the best kicker and punter. Statistically none of the Franklin kids really stick out but their defense is obviously world class if you listen to FBFORME
  16. This is priceless, one Franklin fan(FBFORME) calling an another Franklin fan(ComeGetIt) an idiot. I don't even have to defend my Bruins or make my points. I've got a Franklin fan making them for me. ComeGetIt, not because I am a Brentwood fan, but your post comes across as one of the more intelligent posts I have ever seen on CoachT. The last few years, this rivalry has left everything on the field. Last year Franklin wins both games if Lee isn't stripped in the muck and tackled on the goal line by Hoop. The year before, they split in 2 tough games with each winning on the other's field. My big concern as a Bruin fan is injuries. We're pretty banged up and it appears that Franklin is a lot healthier than we are. However, last year we beat you guys in the Quarters without arguably the best running back in the midstate(Coffey) and our starting defensive tackle(Slaughter) so who knows. I do know know this, both teams will play their hearts out and leave it on the field. Unlike this board, there won't be much smack talk on the field just a lot of smacking. See you guys on Friday..... I hope its a great game.
  17. I've seen Bryson, Mayberry, and Mathers up close and personal now this year. Mather's wins the title in the mid-state hands down.....
  18. Dude = it was in reference to starting a chat among yourselves before this week's games are over. I guess you took it as an insult hunh?
  19. Observations from the Bruin Sideline: 1. Mr Mathers is the best tailback I've seen this year. He is really really really really good. Unfortunately, we did a poor job of tackling which made him look even better. As long as he stays healthy, he'll be fun to watch on Saturdays in a few years. 2. Hard to beat anybody with 5 turnovers. The Bruin offense wasn't very sharp but the Blackman defense did have something to say about that. They play hard and run to the ball. 3. The referees were way too involved in this game on both sides. I don't think either coaching staff was very happy with them. I'll just say they sucked and leave it at that. 4. I'll concur with Mr. Patton that Blackman seems to peaking at the right time. 5. The Blackman Band rocked as usual. The Brentwood Band needs to understand that people come to the game to be entertained- not watch some wierd interpretative dance with tuba players laying on the grass called. Good Luck Blaze. We are limping back to Brentwood to heal up for Franklin.
  20. You Rebel Boys keeping playing with yourselves while we go play football tonite....
  21. "And what's your point? Won't matter after the Rebels go to Bruin Country and win we will be 9-1 and will shut up all the people that say we have not played anyone." I'm glad you Rebel fans are enjoying your off week. We're too busy playing another real football team.....
  22. I understand Mordecai Hightower will not play for the Bruins this weekend. Anybody know what the deal is?
  23. Glad to hear Josh is o.k. and still a middie. Tell him to go 184 so we can watch some Middle TN boys wrestle in the EIWA conference tournament. We'll probably head up for that to watch Cameron. BACK TO FOOTBALL! There are liable to be some ribs at the tailgate this weekend as that is what I'm doing for the senior team dinner Friday night. Stop by and see us.
  24. Man Crushes, That *&%$&! Rankin or that awesome coach Rankin, etc..... You guys are making me dizzy. A couple of questions about the game!!!!!: 1. PBD - What is Josh up to? I did not see him on the Navy roster. Was afraid, he got tripped up by another ankle biter in Annapolis. I hope he is well. 2. Blackman - Whats you're injury situation like? The Bruins are a little banged up. 3. This is a typical Brentwood team - undersized, slow, unathletic, but pretty well coached. 4. What time is game time at Blackman? Need to know for tailgating purposes.
  25. If he plays on the Indy defense as a linebacker, he gets all the tackling he wants!!! By the way, I'll take Chris Hoop & Chudi Echetebu over anybody in the district.
