Well, if the game is called fair( watch out for the phantom hold Huntingdon) , I believe the mustangs are the better team. Goodpasture is big , but not very fast. Camden shot themself in the foot with 3 turnovers, but the officials only called 1 hold on Goodpasture all night. Camden had a td called back which changed the momentum of the game, but the stangs are bigger up front than Camden is, so that will help Huntingdon slow down the straight ahead running of # 44. He is durable , but slow. The goodpasture defence had better get ready for the stangs 1-2 punch out of the backfield, along with the accurate passing of Huntingdons quarterback. The game will be a good one , but Huntingdon has too much speed for Goodpasture. Huntingdon 27, Goodpasture 17

This is a fine post ,but you are leaving out one player who will not get the recognition he deserves this year. Bryce Wilbanks from Camden. No, he wont lead his team in tackles , and he will not be in the top five in tackles for the region , but he is the only player in the region who most offences have run FROM all year. He proved his point last year , and this year they ran away from him almost 75% of the time. So i know there are some other players who desrve this honor, and you have done a fine job , just dont forget to give credit where credit is due. My hats off to all the players who will recieve honors this year in our region, YOU GUYS DID US PROUD!

Hello, if I get you the tapes, can you take them to a players Grandmother in Riverside, California ? ( After you watch them) I can get the games on tape, and know your other brother, and your parents. Camden's colors are black and gold, not black and white! Camden doesnt have to pay anyone for any calls. This is not AT Lewis Co. , and its not 2003( bounce pass). Camden will win because they ARE the better team. They are faster on both sides of the ball, and i just think they want it more! Lets just hope all the players stay healthy, and everyone gets home safe! So come on out and watch a heck of a ball game and dont forget...........GO....CAMDEN LIONS!!!!

Now before anyone else gets the shorts twisted up, the question reads " toughest D in 6aa". So lets stay on that topic and keep the other threads where they belong. In THIS REGION the toughest D has to be Camden, followed by Riverside, and then Lewis Co& Waverly. Waverly was held scorless by Camden and both Riverside and Lewis Co. allowed Waverly to score against them. Now before someone shouts that it was the second or third string, it wasnt and you know it. Riverside won in overtime and Lewis Co. won because Waverly shot themselves in the foot with turn overs. This week will prove alot if both teams play their A-games , mainly because Camden has all their players back ( with the exception of one) and both teams are finally comfortable playing together as a unit. I know Camden lost several defensive players to graduation last year , and it took them a while to gel. Both of these teams( Camden & Riverside ) will play any team hard and any team would know they were in a fight. Hope that everyone plays well friday and that no serious injuries are incured by either team. Go LIONS!!!

Yee haw , almost wet myself when i read this one , Mickey Watson, good job. Now as for the game itself, Waverly is a much improved team this year, but not enough to stop the Lions . The lions sport the #1 offence in the region , and i cant see any reason why that will change friday night . With the kicking game in "chili's " hands ( Chase Horton did a fine job ) that even adds more octane to the gas! Camden's defense is still stingy, and they are just now getting to form , the point starved Tigers of Waverly will stay just that. Well I think Camden will win the game , at the half Camden 24 Adamsville 6. The starters will play until coach ward thinks the score is out of hand , and thats when A-ville will score one more to make the final about 51 to 12 Camden.

No disrespect to Houston Co. , but I think that the starters ( Camden) will be done by the end of the first half. Camden's coach wont let the starters stay in just for stats, and I can respect that. I hope it is a good game, but I dont really think it will be close. One thing Camden better not do though is go in there thinking Houston Co. will just lay down and let them have the game . If Camden comes out like they should it will be over quick. Go Lions!!!

Well lets hope that since they didnt move the town of Camden or Decatur Co. Riverside accross the tenn. river we could still call them west tenn. teams. It is not their faults that now they play most of their games in middle tenn. It is a shame for all three of the teams( Camden, A-ville, Riverside) because middle tenn. doesnt claim them either.As for how they rank, that is a tough call. Camden had lots of injuries early and are almost back to full strength, and will soon have their kicking game in order. Riverside has a great defense, but i must admit i havent seen them, just the rumors. Aville is also said to have a few injuries also. With that said are huntingdon or westview as good as they can be without their star runners in the backfield? How ever it shakes out I dont think you can accurately rank the teams untill a bit closer to the end of the season. Good luck to all the teams Friday night.

Wow! Congrats to Riverside on a big win over A-ville last night . I think with the way Riversides defense is playing right now , it will not be close ( after about 5 min. ) Waverly is improved , but they are not in the same league with Riverside. The starters for Riverside should bring chairs , because after halftime , it would be good for the waverly players if they arent in there. Que up the dance music, and have the gym ready, the players should be rested for some dancin !

I usually dont like to post negative about any team or player, but after last nights game i feel that this needs to be posted. I hope that the dirty play of the richland team ( punches in the grion, pulling helmet off and punching in the head, deliberate hits in the back) was instigated by the players , and not started at the coaching level. With young men , i can understand frustration while getting beat, but when your coaches go over the game tape i hope they see all the cheap shots their players gave out , and takethe appropriate actions.With the team trying to put out certain players( you could hear richlands players telling the camden players they were gonna put them out) not with legal hits, but by the cheap shot method,the team and coaches should be ashamed of themselves.If this is what and how the teams that were added to the 6AA region play the game , I will be glad when my son finishes this year. To the other teams in the region, this is Not an accusation that all the other teams play this way, it is just my hope that if you still have to play this team be prepared , they play dirty because they cannot play good football and beat you any other way!!! And now for the rumor that Richland will even play Camden close, well it was close , 3 times i know of and all 3 times Camden's defense stopped Richland 1st and goal , and did NOT let them score!!! Richland players that didnt play dirty, YOU KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND YOU SHOULD TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS , BECAUSE NOW YOU TOO ARE LABELED DIRTY PLAYERS! GO CAMDEN !!!!

Friday night at Wright field, Homecoming, what more could 2 new region foes ask for.Camden vs. Richland, I have not seen Richland play , but from what I have read , they are a much improved football team. Camden has all the tools , and if they will get them out a little earlier , maybe there wont be so much panic on the sidelines. If Camden comes out as flat against Richland as they did against Loretto, the Lions could be in for a long night. I believe that Camden has a better defense than Lewis Co. , but Camden will not be able to duck those bullets all year , if they dont come out fired up to begin the game. Camden's defense kept Loretto's offense in hand after the boys got a taste of what COULD happen if they didnt get it together. Friday nights game will be a good one I am sure, but i think the Lions have learned a valuable lesson and will be more than ready to play tough,smashmouth football. Richland had better figure out a way to stop the running game of Camden , and as for Richland's offense , Wilbanks & company will introduce themselves when you have the ball.......................Camden 51...Richland 14

No doubt about it , the best defense in 6aa are the Mighty Lions of Camden.They will dominate the region this year, and not taking anything away from the other schools, they are just returning more starters from last year. 5 were all region and 1 was all West Tenn. Wilbanks and Leonard as linebackers along with probobly one of the best D- lines in the state= Best in 6aa

well I think some of the top linebackers in the state are right here in west tenn. in camden there are 2 Leonard (sr) and Wilbanks (sr) .in huntingdon a young man named Donald(jr) and in decatur co. McCormick. i think you will see at least 2 of these 4,Wilbanks & Donald , playing on saturdays in the very near future. Wilbanks , 6ft, 200 lbs 4.5 40 yds 365 bench, playes all out every play . he hits hard and clean. Donald 6'2 215 ,also plays with reckless abandon. nothing taken away from the other two fine young men , but i think these 2 are special.

you are correct sir , also not for an excuse but for fact, camden was missing 4 starters both of those games , come playoffs they should all be close to 100%. then they would welcome a rematch..... your poll seems very accurate

WELL , DOES LORETTO HAVE A CHANCE AT ALL?

WELL WHERE TO START, OUR OFFENCE (STARTERS) PLAYED WELL , WE COULD RUN ANY TIME WE WANTED , AND WE DID . ON DEFENSE, I BELIEVE THE STARTERS COULD STOP ANYTHING THEY THREW OUR WAY , WILBANKS PUT 2 BOYS OUT OF THE GAME AND LEONARD WAS TOUGH UP THE MIDDLE AND THE LINE WAS STILL MISSING BUSBY , BUT THE OTHER PLAYERS STEPPED UP AND THIS THEIR BEST GAME SO FAR. JOSH BOYD HAD 250 YDS. JUST THROUGH A QUARTER AND A HALF. OUR SECOND STRING GOT SUBSTANCIAL PLAYING TIME AND LOOKED VERY GOOD,AND WHEN THE 3RD STRING AND FINALLY FRESHMAN CAME IN , THE GAME HAD BEEN OUT OF HAND FOR QUITE A WHILE. ALL THE PLAYERS PLAYED HARD AND DESPITE SOME FISHY OFFICIATING, OUR BOYS LOOKED GOOD. THE CAMDEN SIDELINES LOOKED A BIT THIN FROM WHAT I AM USED TO SEEING , BUT NOW THAT THE TEAM HAS WON ONE THE FAIRWEATHER FANS MAY COME BACK OUT.3 OF THE 4 INJURED PLAYERS WERE BACK AND THEY ALL PLAYED VERY WELL. OVER ALL I WOULD GIVE THEM A 7.5 OUT OF 10 , BUT IT IS HARD TO TELL HOW WELL THEY WOULD HAVE PLAYED IF THEY WOULD HAVE PLAYED MORE MINUITES. BUT IN A ROUT LIKE THIS IT WAS GOOD TO SEE THE OTHER PLAYERS GER SOME GREAT PLAYING TIME.

Well, I think Camden will win the region this year hands down, the lions are pretty beat up to start the season, with 4 starters out for their first game . When those starters finally return to play , the lions will be back up among the best teams in 2a football. Some of Camden's top players will of course be, Josh Boyd RB &LB, Bryce Wilbanks LB&RB, Byron Boyd RB. Go Lions

Well I was just about to say, not even 1 person even mentioned the only junior to make the all West Tenn. team last season. Wilbanks has proven that he not only belongs among the top players in west tenn , but is probobly one of the top linebackers in the state , regaurdless of class( 5a, 4a, 3a, 2a,1a). There are several really fine players in this part of the state, and I will not insult anyone by not mentioning their names , but to leave out a player of Wilbanks' caliber is really a shame.

I really hate to say this, but i think westview will win the game . I would not say this if Camden was healthy, but I know that they will be missing 2 of the 3 starting linebackers, a top lineman , and a defensive end, all starters. I know the team as a whole will be ready to play , but with that many of your top defensive players missing , it will be really tough to stop a quality back such as Guy. I will pull for my boys from Camden tonight , but think that the undermanned lions will lose in a tough played game. When those starters come back to play , the lions will be right back in the hunt for the title game in Murfreesboro come December. GO LIONS

well his season is over , but Camden's Bryce Wilbanks finished the season with over 140 tackles. This junior linebacker has it all speed , size (5'11"- 195 )and with all those tackles an obvious nose for the ball . He had a stable mate named Jesse Leonard who had about 130 tackles for the season. Next season both these juniors will return to keep up their great work. Both look to have bright futures.

Congratulations to the Stangs, played well on both lines of scrimmage. you had a great game plan and played well last night . i was one who stayed for the entire game ..... was a bit disapointed at some of our people for leaving early ! i am proud for our lions and am looking forward to next season . ok now stangs keep our region in the hunt and bring it back again. again my hats off to the lions, i have a very dejected young man here this morning , but he has nothing to be ashamed of ! great season lions, and again conrats to the stangs. Good morning to all. wow what a week and all the grown ups (from both sides ) talking all the trash . i have read 15 pages of some good , some bad , posts . the only thing i think really matters is that tonight in huntingdon , a tough game will be played by fantastic young men from both counties. the mustang fans have a right to speak their mind, as do the camden fans, they both should be proud of their teams! I am not sure why we as adults have to talk so much junk to each other over a computer . both teams are ready to play , the coaches have done all they can and tonight the boys will go out there and play hard ! i just sent my player out the door and he is ready to play the game , his quarterback ( who picked him up )says he is ready , and i am sure this day will be a slow one till the guys hit the bus and head out ! i pray for a good clean game and for the players safety, that the parents and fans from both sides will act like they have some sense! both teams are going to act that way why not us? good luck to all the players , but i am pulling for MY LIONS , so come out and support your team and may the best team win.
