  1. I do not know what you were expecting out of Liberty before Friday night, but they are better than their record. The only team that they had lost to that was not undefeated going into the last week was JCM and they fumbled and had two touchdowns called back in that one. The crusaders put it on Lexington and Lexington had no answers.
  2. YANKER should be nervous, only because an upset by the Crusaders will go along way in getting future athletes to Liberty. Reitzfan is correct in his assessment of the level of discontent. My son stayed because it was his senior year and is one of the top starters, but hates the coach and the way he coaches.
  3. After seeing unispired play from both teams, I do not know who will win. What do you think?
  4. Okay! I was wrong. Liberty played very uninspired. i don't know what the heck this coaching staff is doing. Liberty has always been pumped up and played tougher against SS. they came out flat and were still able to move the ball. You all were right. I guess that this staff has go to change its methods if they expect to win any games. I saw that they put 21 in the game and he rushed three times for what seemed like 40 yards and then they took him out. 34 didn't do anything all night..... sheeesh
  5. I have been to all of the games. I also watch practice. I see the kids workingthe system and improving. Be fore the year is over, everyone will be talking about "the turnaround". This team is a lot like the one from 2005. It took that team a while to learn how to finish and win. They went 7-3 and made it to the playoffs after losing to Henry County, Lexington and Huntingdon. All teams that were on a tear that year. That team was "supposed" to get beat at SS, too. It might be a battle early, but Liberty has too many athletes and speed fo SS.
  6. 21 points! I will stick by it. And VG, I will stick by a victory against JCM. Bless their little hearts!
  7. Southside is not as good as their record. They stole the win from JCM and have not played anybody else. I predict the Saders by 21. I saw the Liberty team mature in the second half of the Henry County game. I can see them winning the next three games against SS, JCM and Lexington to get back to .500 ball.
  8. What two players did you think should be playing? I don't know hwy Pittman is not playing
  9. Hogsett is going to a JUCO for a year. He did not clear the NCAA clearinghouse....
  10. They got worn out. I think Liberty scored 13 times.
  11. Any truth that Jerry HAyes resigned after the scrimmage???
  12. It was actually about 5-3 touchdowns with the first team in. The offense did okay with the new system stopping themselves on three drives with turnovers. The defense was what did not look good. They looked undisciplinedand were more worried about some "extracurricular" activities than playing. Expect Liberty to get better and better as the coach has more time with them. The offense had at least 20 plays of 15 yards or more. They have to learn to keep hold of the ball and score every time and the defense has to play with discipline. Liberty is scrimmading McNairy Monday evening, so look for changes.
  13. Liberty will suprise you guys soon. New Coach, New mentality and a lot of athletes.......
  14. Not so fast my Yankerly friend! There is no reason for anyone to fear the veer from JCM. The decline will continue for the JCM Cougars and the Rock will crumble. No one is intimidated anymore. A fifth place finish will be a good year as the tide turns in Jackson. You do have some great athletes left , but the numbers get fewer each year. Coach Hookfin was keeping some folks there. I will expect the Freshmen program to decline as the years continue to move. Pray that the school board never allows open enrollment or JCM football will be but a memory!!!!!
  15. I am a parent at Liberty and I want all of you to be served notice that we are going to be stronger than you think. I was a little concerned with the turnover of the coaching staff, but Coach Hookfin was able to keep Coach Lane and brought Sawyer with him. This is a dynamic group of coaches. In three weeks, they have completely changed the thought processes and got the program suddenly looking pretty good. There is a lot of talent and the attitude is soooo positive for the first time of the program. The staff and kids are working 4-6 hours per day right now to get the offense and defense in before the first game. We are not planning on losing and we will beat JCM THIS YEAR. Sorry YANKER! You guys better get us on your radar! HERE WE COME 4A! We are planning on a gold football to go with our two Gold Basketballs!!!! BRING IT!
