  1. True on the #. I get dyslexia on occasion. While he obviously has breakaway speed and power, I was tickled to death to see several runs in the 6+ range. I will take that all night long. Sure, he git hemmed in a few times. Y'all were double covering him alot. I like the fact that we have depth at the position. While he didnt get a ton of opportunities, #8 showed why he was a top 2 reciever by yardage in the state last year. I thought we ran with tbe ball well after catches. You guys had a little FB who had a nice knockdown in the endzone that was impressive. I really enjoyed chatting with some WC fans I sat next to. They showed great hospitality. I think all the teams had flashes of mid season form. Like another poster said, it is my opinion that TCA would have gotten the highest grades for the evening. We are very happy our boys are buying into what Coach Bowling is selling. This was our third year in a row to come to WC for a scrimmage. Last night was by far our best performance of the 3 visits. Lots of work to do and it was only a scrimmage though. Still many reasons in Lion Land for us to be optomistic. Good luck to WC and Dresden this year.
  2. I would agree about the hard count. Fortunately, there is time to clean that up. That is what scrimmages are for. Wait till we finally decide to throw to #7 as a wideout. Some DB will have a bad matchup. Plus you do have to respect his ability when he lines up as a WR. He will draw a crowd leaving others open. Lots of time and weeks to add to the playbook as the season goes on. I was pleased with basketball coaches son at WR. Great leaping ability and soft sticky hands. I think Dresden will get better as year goes on. They have nice size.QB plays hard. WC had a smallish RB who played well, especially later in the scrimmage. Best of luck to both Dresden and to West Carroll this season.
  3. TCA won both scrimmages first team v first team. #7, now as a sophmore, already has multiple D1 offers
  4. I was impressed with the Dresden qb and a few others. Ya'll owned use one a couple of hard counts on one drive. I think your assessment is fair
  5. You must have left early. My assessment is correct. Our #7 ran over a couple of your LBs and put them on their posterior. Option game did well. #0 #22and of course #7 all had significant yards. Our passing game was much better than I would have expected. #8 and #2??? each caught td passes on you guys. Your boys had a long reception for a score on busted coverage and I believe one long run from scrimmage in first unit work. Here are a few highlites of #7 http://www.hudl.com/v/2LHAn0
  6. Looked impressive. Still, things to clean up.
  7. Offensively, TCA moved the ball at will, on the ground and in the air, against both Dresden and West Carroll. Defensively, TCA made both QB's lives difficult and they hit and tackled well. Dresden has some talent and good size
  8. Really interesting that the two schools are separated by basically a runway. Hope you are well my friend. Two weeks and I'm pretty twtchy to get rolling.
  9. Thanks for researching this. It is more complicated than I remember. I am still 100% against this. However, if the TSSAA is foolish enough to impliment this, it must apply to public schools as well.
  10. Sorry for all the posts. As I broadcast for WRS and my own company, as well as many years with various radio stations in the past, I am very well acquainted with the ins and outs of radio broadcasting as well as videostreaming. Im just trying to make sure the info is correct.
  11. Peabody games are broadcast on Worth Road Studios along with TCA, USJ, and JCS games. WRS is based in Jackson. South Gibson games are videostreamed by their football booster club. One HUGE difference between NFHS and most other video streams is that with just a very few exceptions, a school tied to NFHS can only broadcast homes games. Worthy Road Studios broadcasts games at home AND on the road. You dont get that with NFHS.
  12. Your statment implying most schools use NFHS is not accurate. Fortunately, NFHS has very little access in west Tennessee. Most all games videostreamed in West Tennessee are FREE to view with live commentary, multiple cameras and instant replay. NFHS does not give you that.
  13. NFHS provides cameras at no charge. Schools get a percentage of each supscription. Its not much. Schools paying 10000 is not accurate.
  14. The schools get equipment at no charge. The software used to operate usually unmanned cameras is suspect. Good internet is a must. Upload speed is the key. You should check out some of my ms broadcasts on West Tennessee Sports on Facebook . I do the video work, stats and commentary by myself. It is very hard to do it the way I do. But i live and breathe football. Glad I broadcast varsity games with Worthy Road Studios. We do nice work.
  15. Huntingdon made a foolish decision and went with the NFHS. TSSAA only gets rights fees during the post season and they are outrageous. To video stream high school football, you got to have people committed to working the entire season, you need good equipment that is not cheap, solid internet access, and find sponsors to help pay the expenses.
  16. To my knowledge, these are the only schools in West Tennessee who DO NOT have free streaming video or radio coverage of their games on a regular (weekly) basis in season. Adamsville, Fayette-Ware, Gibson County, Middleton, Lake County, South Fulton, Halls, Fayett Academy, Chester County, and Sacred Heart. I could not tell you for sure about Brighton or Munford but I think at least one has weekly coverage.. Two of the schools on my list, Chester County and Fayette Academy, have PPV video coverage of home games. At this time, it is my understanding that two radio groups in Jackson will cover Jackson's 4 public schools. To my knowledge, all other schools in West Tennessee have weekly free streaming or radio coverage. At least six radio stations that I am aware of in West Tennessee have either weekly or daily call in shows that will deal with local sports. I also did a small weekly show dealing with high school football last year on West Tennessee Sports on Facebook that I most likely wont do this season as I will be videostreaming 3 games per week in season. High school football coverage in West Tennessee is pretty good in my opinion. I'd be willing to bet that neither the middle or eastern parts of Tennessee have as many schools that have their games broadcast in season as those schools in West Tennessee via either free video streaming or radio.
  17. Another ill timed coaching resignation has hit as Andre Lott has resigned as the head football coach at St. George's in Memphis. I simply dont understand head coaches resigning this late in the process with practice getting ready to ramp up after the July 4th holiday. Unless it was a forced resignation, quitting at this time of the year certainly gives the returning players the bird. If it was a forced resignation due to him not meeting expectations in the win/loss column, then the school is to blame for waiting so long to take action. Either way, the returning players get screwed. I bet that there is more to this story.
  18. you just might if your talent level dried up after winning the second one and you got bumped up to a bigger class.
  19. I think that if you reach the state finals 2 years in a row that you are bumped up in class during the next classification period. Don't quote me on that though.
  20. My home state of Indiana operates with a "Success Factor". I don't care for it one bit. It is also extremely wrong for D2 to be a test case. This is a very bad idea. I hope and pray this does not happen. However, if it does, it must apply to all schools not just D2 schools.
  21. please don't post a link to an article we have to pay to see. JMO
  22. Oh what a tangled Webb we weave shuffling to The Feet.
  23. I'm told Webb was going to have a very difficult time finding opponants for the upcoming season. At least one district opponant just forfeited rather than play an international U18 team. Look for the legislative council to take action at earliest opportunity.
  24. Language in the original proposal will be reworded to correct an error that would have punished schools like Carroll Academy us what I am told. This should enable the proposal to pass.
