Giles by as much as Coach Holt wants. I mean...they will score at will until he takes the starters out. I look for this to be a dunkfest and I am glad I am getting the chance to see it.

News flash. If anyone checked out the thread about Mid-State scoring leaders you would have noticed, none other than the "Bird Man" holding down the #1 spot. Oh and he is 15th this year in 3pm...a total of 33 treys. That is only 7 behind one of the best shooters in the state...Joeseph Bailey...not to shabby for a 6'6" 225lb. kid.

OMG...that is the best promise ever. WHEN Giles County proves you wrong, why don't you do us all a favor and walk to center court and annouce to everyone in the gym that you are a total goof ball for ever doubting Giles County winning the region. Also I think it would be good if you would ask Tyler if you could ride his jock strap on his way to Knoxville.

Looks like someone else is making the same point that I made. That makes two people that make no sense of their theory. Jek also stated the same thing about last year. Jamont was dominant in TN and he has been a key to some of the Oak Hill victories. However, you have to look at the overall picture. There wasn't much said about Jamont the other night on the game. All of the talk was about Durant, Lawson, & Devendorf. I honestly do not belive that Steve Smith is trying to develop Jamont into a NBA type player. I believe he was closer to that when he was at Glencliff and he had to do all of the scoring. Jamont is an great ball player...neither I nor anyone else will deny that. However, when matched up with excellence as he was the other night...there really isn't a comparison.

OMG...that was classic. I actually have a Logan Pierce throwback...it hasn't been washed since they got their rear ends kicked by GC in the region...which time you ask...how bout every time. Here fishy, fishy, fishy. Where are you at...we can smell you. People get to doggin on Pierce or some of the other very talented players to come through your school and you go hide.

Catfish...when was the last time Sucksummore sent a player to a major D-1 school. Your best player was Logan Pierce...where is he at? You should know your role and shut your hole. You would make a lot of people happier and a lot less stupid.

Where exactly did I bash him. I simply said that he got emabarrassed by a far superior player. Jamont was a man among boys when he ran point for Glencliff. I haven't seen Oak Hill play except the other night on TV and the reason I think he scores so many points for them is because the other remarkable talent on the team takes the defense away from him. Granted, I was impressed with his ability to follow his shot and grab the boards but never did I see him finish one of those plays. I did see him walk and get his shot swatted by a 6'1 guard.

How do you figure that. Jamont missed more lay-ups than he made. Yeah, Louis gave up about a 3" height advantage, but I did see one of Jamonts shots get swatted pretty good.

Oh yeah, that is it. Where has Tyler been mentioned in this thread. I don't ride his jock strap like some GC fans. I have not seen the kid play all year, as a matter of fact, I now live about 30 minutes away from South Gwinnett. So this is coming from a guy who has seen Williams and Mercer play as well as Jamont. I would take either over Jamont. I don't really understand why everyone thinks he is so special. A 6'4 220lb guard that dominated on much lesser scale than he is on right now, but when matched up with the best guard in the country...he was whipped.

Yes, Ellis has signed with MS State. Like Gomab and others have said, he will never touch the college floor. How does this sound...GA Bulldogs (Mercer & Williams), MS State (Delks & Ellis), TN (Smith & Gordon) all battling over the SEC title...wouldn't that be something.

I guess you guys were wrong. Ellis scored 35 and Young put in 17. The most important stat was the score 88-60 with Mitchell getting lit up a like a Christmas tree.

I couldn't have said it better Cobrafan. South's coach will be the first to admit that he lets Mercer and Williams shoot anytime they want. He has confidence that they will make good choices. If Williams gets his stroke going, he can bury those deep 3's all day long. With the competition they play down here in GA, it is all good and well because Jukes is a rebounding machine. This kid is fundamentally sound and can do very big things with his career.

Nice of you to go back and pick that post up. If you would have noticed that I posted on the other thread that South proved me wrong, you wouldn't have had to waste your time. The team that played last night was not the same team that I have watched 6 times this year. They really stepped it up a notch last night and will have to do so one more time this year to get past Arlington Country day who also has two D1 guards. When South Gwinnett plays like they did last night, there isn't a team in the country that could stop them. I guess it is a good thing they had a horrible first half....good thing for Oak Hill that is!!!

How can you say Jamont didn't get embarrassed. He may have kept Louis from scoring on the drive, but guess where Jamont sent him...the free throw line. Jamont could not keep up with Williams. In my opinion these two guys should not even be mentioned in the same sentence...there is no comparison.

It is hard to belive that a team as talented as Oak Hill got ran out of the gym by South Gwinnett, but it happened. Williams couldn't not be stopped and when Mercer got going, it was all over. Added to the fact that Delano Howard got hot in the 4th. I think the real unsung hero in this game is Avery Jukes. The kid will be a major D1 prospect next year. He was snatching rebounds and altering shots like it was nobody's business. Look for this kid to do big things.

This is one of the best high school games I have seen in a long time. Jamont did not have that many points. He was having a hard time dealing with two guards that were 10x quicker than he ever thought about being. South Gwinnett is an extremely fast team and Oak Hill played in to their hands when they got into a running game. Williams and Mercer live to show their ups. What did you guys think about the dunk that Mercer did at the end of the game...sticking his whole arm into the rim....oh memories of Vince!!!

Oak Hill is getting embarrassed and will be getting their second loss of the season. South Gwinnett put on a heck of a show and proved me wrong. After a long road trip from MS, the put their high flying act together and beat the #1 team in the country. Williams had a huge night with 30 pts. MY OH MY...

South Gwinnett is up by 5 with 5:36 left in the game. Williams & Mercer are taking over. South could pull the upset.

South Gwinnett is down by 6 at half-time. Williams has 14 pts., I think. The Durant kid for Oak Hill is very impressive. Gordon has done nothing but look like a fool every trip down the court. They have him guarding Louis, who is abusing him every trip down the court. If South gets rolling, this could go down to the wire.

South goes to the locker room at half-time down by 6. These guys will not give up. Williams is making Gordon look foolish every trip down the court. He just drop an amazing spin move on his defender.

Look for Williams to score 30+, but Oak Hill wins this contest easily. I do not think Jamont alone can stop Williams...the kid will get his.

This will be no challenge what so ever for Ellis. He has torched some of the best teams (Oak Hill & South Gwinnett) and players (Williams, Mercer, & Gordon) already this year. Neither Thad Young or Mitchell's entire team will stop this kid. He will score 40+.

Maybe overrated was a little harsh. I wish I could have seen him play AAU ball. I think they went like 57-8...and won the national title. I hope he puts on a good show against Oak Hill, but it will be hard to top the 48 that Monte dropped on them in KY.
