I know that he made a coment to the team during the last week of practice to the effect of "if im here next year" My boy commented on it to me but i didnt think anything about it at the time. Maybe there was something to it. Who knows.

any one heard any word of late of what is going on with Maynard? Ive heard some "key" people were approaching the School administration this week to discuss what the future of him and the program would be. Anyone heard this? fill us in.

If that is for sure what he got kicked out for and the apeal was denied thats crazy. I hope we never get those officials.

Every bearden fan on here is basing nothing on just this season or the Farragut game. Most of our main concearns are around the fact that the 3 years this man has been here we have gone 4-6 first year 3-7 second year and 1-9 this year. How many rebuilding years does he need? His rebuilding the program doesnt seem to be going in the right direction.

Very well said young man. Hopefully what is best is that the coaches will realize what is best for the team and do what is right and resign. This would save everyone alot of hassle and allow the school to start finding a replacement.

Have to agree with ya bhs. I was on the fence on both sidelines thourgh out the game and never heard or saw what these guys are talking about.

On a 3 step pass its hard to get your hands up to block the ball. Isnt that the primary time the cut block is used? Therefore it is still effective.

I agree it is two different things. But if a lineman can not cut down field to block why is a corner allowed to tackle below the waist. If oakdale had lost a RB to a corner diving at his feet would it then have been ok?

Wish he had stayed at Cumberland with King, or even came back to Bearden as an D-coordinator. He's a much better asst than head coach. Organization and disipline is not his good points.

Paul Maynard of Bearden. He has taken a team who was 8th grade little league champs and didnt lose a JV game in 2 years and transformed them into a 1-9 team this year. This takes some tallent to do.

Something to think about. If there is a problem with cut blocking (hitting below the waist) Should there not then be a penality for a Corner or saftey who tackles a runningback below the waist. I as many of you have probably seen many corners who have dived into the shins or anckles of bigger running backs. This to me is just as dangerous as a lineman putting his helment on someones thigh.

look at the record since 92 since you know for a fact youll also know that all of the D1 guys you talk about were gone by then. and i beg to differ on the defense. unlike most D1 teams their non conference schedule is against usually d1aa oponents and usually not bad ones. which is unfortunately where some of their losses come from. As for you winning the golden ball, which college team did you coach to a national championship. or even a runner up national champ team?

You must be crazy. what has it done for them lately? look at the win loss record of the last 15 years and then answer that. Find one other collegic coach who is 234 -54 -2 not counting this season with a .819 winning percentage. how many other coaches with almost 300 games played have a winning % above 800.

Very good points. If you have a talented fast qb can be a great offense. Learn to read it instead of predetermined calls and also run the outside veer and read it. inside and outside together are a great threat to any defense. Thomas County Central (you may remember Charlie Ward of FSU) in south GA has also ran it for the last 30 something years and has about 15 state championships to show for it. Great coaches there and will work with anyone on the system.

Who has the best punter in the state? Lets say for a reasonable average that they must have atleast 10 punts this year. Whats their average and how many yards they punted for? Beardens Matt Reagan has just under 2000 yards for a 39.8 average on 45+- punts.

Its football not golf. Once again the nuetral zone is 3 yard from the ball and 2 past the tackle box. If down field is 20 yards then you might have a point. But it is football if your worried about someone getting hit go and watch soccer or something. I hate the kid got hurt but it happens.

What does baseball and basketball have to do with the football program. In every school ive ever been at i have never heard the football coach tell a person that they couldnt play another sport. (basketball players did have to come out after the playoffs) But usually the basket ball and baseball coaches dont let their players play football because of fall baseball and summer basketball. Unfortunately when a kid is forced to chose between 2 sports both the coaches and the kids lose. I hope this isnt what is happening at midway.
