  1. Let me suggest, especially if your daughters are just starting out, that you purchase them a "Game Face". Make them practice with it and always wear it in games. One of the pitchers on my daughter's travel ball team was hit with a line drive square between the eyes during our local league softball and was sent to Vandy with multiple skull fractures. I can only imagine how bad it could have been if it had been hit by a travel ball player. It's not worth the risk when there is equipment available to help avoid alot of these injuries. As far as how your daughters finish their pitch, I had a pitching instructor tell me once that it doesn't necessarily matter how much they do or don't close ...what really matters is if they have their balance enough to defend themselves from a ball that's coming right back down their throat. Wise words from a wise man.
  2. Are you wanting your daughter to play 12U softball?....If you are then you are in the right area because there are ALOT of highly competitive teams within a 60 miles radius from you. If she is as good as you say then she should have no trouble finding a 10u team that will have to be moving up in the fall to 12u. The best way to find a team is to go to the weekend softball tournaments in Jackson or Martin and you can probably find a team that will let your daughter at least try out in the fall. Good Luck!
  3. U trip IMHO has a better tourney for the younger age groups than ASA...much more competitive...We've played NSA, ASA, NFSA and U trip and we much prefer U trip.
  4. In 10u the best teams will be in Crossville at Utrip....A & B will be mixed with some great teams this year....should be an awesome tourney.
  5. good call!...when Bryce hits you he'll even help you up and point you in the right direction to your huddle ....that kid can lay on the wood!.....and this year the spot light will be on Sean and it'll be his turn to shine thumb
  6. oops thanks forgot those!...from looking at those scores now I remember why I forgot them in the first place....All I can is uuuuuugly
  7. The tailback you spoke of Orey Willis graduated last year but his younger brother (if he can stay eligible) will be coming in as FB for Bruceton.. but if he can do as much defensively as Orey did will be the real question...I look for McKenzie and Union City to fight it out with Lake Co in the mix also...Hayes is a great QB probably the best true passer in TN but without his line that was lead by D-1 signee Edwards protecting him and Lacey gone from the WR position will he have someone to throw it to?...Ball should be a big help no matter what position he ends up in.....Union City has a decent sized line this year that if they can come off the ball alittle faster (hint hint) could give Drew fits....should be a very interesting season....Good Luck to the Rebels in your new Region and Class thumb
  8. Enquiring minds (and those of us who are SO ready for the season to begin ) from Camden would also like to know...Loretto Richland and Stewart co have been very closed-mouthed about this upcoming season. I think Riverside and Camden have talked so much that we could guess what our perspective coaches ate for breakfast (eh ekard and RHS ??) so it's ya'lls turn now! thumb
  9. no but in this case one good season starts one! thumb oh and it'll be a long season for the Lions alright...about as long as the first week in December anyway!!! I'm sorry ya'll I just had to say it...he made it way too easy
  10. ....looks like a weak defense to me .....offense shouldn't be able to get anything done either from the looks of it
  11. Not if you actually move into a new zone so if Ball moves to Mckenzie he'll get to play this year as a Rebel.
  12. Keagan Ball FB for the Huntingdon Mustangs last year....good move for Keagan if he comes to Mac town cause he'll get more attention there...kinda hard to compete with the Weathers/Donald machine in H-town...and BTW Hayes is the best QB in TN...I was impressed with his poise his Freshman year and he just improves every year...I just hope he has some athletes to throw to and a line to protect him....he'll make some college coach very happy when he commits!
  13. Although the final three weeks of the season will be important and Lewis co and Riverside will be tough games, week 0 and 1 in Camden's schedule will predict not only the region 6aa winner but also the probable west contender at the 'Boro come December. If Camden lives up to their potential and performs well against Westview and Huntingdon they should be unstoppable for the rest of the season barring any major injuries...BTW LCHS why would you say that there are problems on Camden's o-line??...they lost 1 starter on the o-line and that line handled the big boys on your line with no problem....we were fast and strong last year and this year we will be fast, very strong and have more size so I hope your d-line has picked it up some or Josh and Byron will have a field day once again.....on defense we lost some key players but we are ready to reload not rebuild....our line will be solid and I look for Bryce Wilbanks to lead a very agressive LB crew and with the althetes available to cover in the secondary (the Boyds, Crawley and Horton) just to name a few we'll have that covered also....Good Luck to everyone in this region and I hope to see some very competitive smash mouth football games this season!
  14. So I hear Waverly is joining the Huntingdon Jamboree in our spot....do you know who you'll play yet?...thats always been a good warm up for the season and the atmosphere at Paul Ward is always fun.....congrats and good luck!
  15. agreed!...although I think USJ will be a very tough opponent for these teams and could even slip on one if they don't take them seriously...but I do think they will have to battle hard for that last play off spot this season.
