  1. Looks like Science Hill was a lot to handle. They are a good team. How are those who are hurt? Will they be able to make it this week? This week will be a big one!
  2. Bounced a couple of times? Face it, the scores were bad. Trying to make the losses sound somewhat close is a joke. Losses of 20-6 (14 points) 33-16 (17) 34-18 (16) 52-7 (45) 34-13 (21) 35-7 (28) 29-6 (23) 40-20 (20) don't see where you are getting the possibility of winning 4 or 5 games here. As bad as it sounds this was a weak season and the forecast looks weaker i
  3. though the falcons have a chance to upset cocke county it's too close to call. cocke co. 15 volunteer 13
  4. Playoff contentions abound with this game. Any thoughts on who will win? or lose? The boards have been quiet this week. Vol. 28 Crockett - 14
  5. I'm not sure if you are trying to convince yourself or the team of what you just said. Either way, take a chill tomahawk. You taking way too much offense in these boards.
  6. I heard that Coach Hastings, the defensive coordinator quit at halftime, but nobody is talking much about it. They must have had quite a stir during and after the game. Sounds like disacord and lack of unity among the coaching staff. That's too bad for the players since they have to see and hear all that. Can anyone confirm Hastings quitting and why he did?
  7. East and West will dominate. Volunteer could likely get another playoff spot as long as they are able to defeat Cherokee. The playoff spots for Volunteer and Cherokee will come down to the last game of the season just like last year between the two teams. Volunteer seems to be a little overconfident after defeating Cherokee 22-0 last year though. Greeneville will be fourth i Think.
  8. Anybody know how the Falcons did in the scrimmage? Are they looking good? They're suppose to be. I can't help but wonder if this is just another "talked up" season. I bet WackoJacko would think so , but he probably has quit reading the Volunteer boards.
  9. South will throw the ball on offense and their defense will shut down Boone. Boone is too beat up right now to win this one. An upset is possible if South turns the ball over with interceptions. South -35 Boone- 7
  10. Now that WOULD be an upset if it happened! That would silence everyone into shock!
  11. Would this combination create one of the, if not the largest, most populated high schools in Tennessee? I'm not sure, but I don't think there are any school with 3,000 people. Wow! That would be an enormous campus! Can someone enlighten me a little more about this new grass turf?
  12. Way to go Volunteer Falcons!!! Keep up the momentum into the playoffs against TN High. Great WIn!!!
  13. I agree that Volunteer's program is (present tense) not on par with Norths...Volunteer is MUCH BETTER. Later in the season, Volunteer got things going. I'm sure that the 63-0 was due to injuires, though? I haven't checked the standings. Can someone tell me if North made the playoffs?
  14. Prayers from Volunteer High School in Church Hill, TN. We are praying for those families and students who are suffering from this tragedy.
  15. Congrats to Volunteer's Hurd and Clark for making it to the state in the doubles matchup. They were defeated in the first round, though, by a great DCA team. thumb
  16. Great season Falcons. I enjoyed watching. Good luck to the seniors in college. thumb
  17. I regret if I offended you fastone. My intention was to merely point out some facts. For using only two hurdles, 16.5 wouldn't be a bad time for a freshman. By the way, what grade are you in? MasterFalcon thumb
  18. 16's are slow for any regional meet. In A-AA, the 15's are sometimes seen in the regional meet, and even in the state meet. The past couple of years, though, A-AA state champions have improved to the mid 14's. These are the fastest A-AA times since Jabari Greer ran 5 years ago. MasterFalcon thumb
  19. 48 is pretty good, but a 47 is sometimes required to win the state, at least on the AAA level. In fact, 10 out of the last 25 years had a 47 or better in the AAA level. As far as the 110m hurdles go, there should be another good matchup this year. The AAA level has been pretty quick the past few years, running in the low 14's. The A-AA level has been quicker too, running in the mid 14's. Every now and again, the A-AA level will flop, and the winner will run in the 15's. MasterFalcon thumb
  20. DB seems to choke at some point in the playoffs every year. This is probably that time once again. OR--21 DB--14
  21. It's just impossible for Betsy to win against THS. It's like pairing UT against Tusculum. Not gonna happen. THS is superior this year and will whip Betsy by at least 31 points unless the 2nd team offense takes it easy on them. Have fun. The game should have a fun first half like always. The hype should run out by halftime, though. Betsy has had a decent season and shouldn't feel bad about an 8-5 record. I mean they beat two teams in the playoffs whose regular season records combined to be 17-3. Not bad. THS--38 EHS--7
  22. Good luck to the falcons this year. According to the roster it seems that their will be good speed at the guard positions and good size down low. Not a lot of experience with those sophomores though. The freshmen team should be pretty quick and strong. I hope all of the players hang in their and play their best through thick and thin. As far as the Cherokee game goes, Volunteer will have to fight hard, but will win.
  23. Betsy will survive until their beating in the third round against THS. Elizabethton--28 S. East-- 17 thumb UNLESS Eads plays. Then the score will look more like Elizabethton--20 Eads --21
  24. Good win to Betsy. Go up an whip East this week. There is no need for East to play THS in the third round. 54-0 is pretty bad. I'm surprised that it wasn't worse, though. thumb
