Best players for particular plays? What? This isn't the NFL. Yeah, ok, lets put boo in for this play, donald in for this play, etc. And shut the heck up about rotations. They'll get your boy in the game some.

First off, for them to have any chance the rest of this season, they'll have to muster up enough energy to put up a fight.Second, there is no "I" in team.

I've made this comment before and I think coach mansfield would tell you the same thing. IF, (and I believe it will) Huntingdons defense gets just a little better, they don't have to be perfect, Huntingdon will be back in the state finals. We all like to play coach from the stands, but it looks like the only thing missing is intensity. Huntingdon will win the next three games and enter the playoffs with momentum. Our region will basically sweep middle tn. then the fight back through our own region begins. Someone name me one team on this side of the river that Huntingdon can't beat.

Folks, I think I can assure you of one thing. Despite some of your doomsday predictions and obvious lack of football knowledge, I guarantee you Huntingdon will play in the semifinals of our great state in class 2A. I predict you'll see their defensive problems being solved starting this week, and each week after it will improve, kinda like last year. Then, on these very boards, the predictors of doom and despair, the haters and bashers, will unite and start praising the greatness of the Mustangs. Some may even be so bold as to say " I knew it all along", or even "I tried to tell you guys". As certain as a fat boy likes candy these things to shall come to pass.

Milan has one good back, and one who we made look good. They can't throw and right now they are better on defense. I say its a toss up who will win the next meeting, which if it happens, will be at Johnny Hale stadium.

I don't think either are overrated. Both are very young on both sides of the ball in key positions. I never had any delusions about Huntingdon going 14-0. Not with their schedule. I think you'll see this matchup in the semi's. Huntingdon will face either westview or milan, I think milan. What we saw last night was typical milan football. Huntingdon must have thought they'd get the team that played trenton last week, didn't happen. Milan has athletes, IMO more than Huntingdon and they are much faster on defense. Westview is a one man show, stop him, stop westview. Milan is better tooled to make a playoff run. So, what I think we'll see is Milan in the semi's and if Huntingdon can get their defense straightened out, it will be a rematch of last years classic. It could go either way.

Differece in the game. Huntingdon got whipped up front on both sides. Butler goes down and they're playing with a makeshift line on offense. You put 28 pts on milan at milan you should win. You're not going to score 45 every game. heck folks, we got out played by a determined bulldog team, period. Accept it. Milan controlled the line, time of possession and milan had double the snaps of offense. I don't recall Huntingdon having more than one possession in the third quarter.

Gerry, I didn't know that you had to play college ball to be a great tb. and no, not any rb. on that team could put up those numbers. Hey bartender, give me 3 of whatever Gerry's having, and make it quick!

I think their defense will be fine and as far as people keying on boo, well anytime you have a great tb he gets keyed on. I don't think that really makes a difference in high school football. Throw donald into the mix and all keys are busted. Teams have been keying on boo for 6 weeks now, don't expect that to change.

Come on Gerry, show us some love. Admit Huntingdon is the best.

Note to Gerry: Boo Weathers has fewer carries, more yds, and more td's than Guy. I consider them to be equal in ablility with guy having the speed adv. and boo the "make you miss" advantage. Gerry, you seem to be very annoyed by the aura of the Mustang. You like to challenge their greatness by making hateful and spiteful statements meant to hurt the feelings of the blue and old gold monster. Gerry, why do you do these things? Why Gerry, Why? Gerry, i'm sure you would agree on one thing. Huntingdon will be playing in Murfreesboro for the 2A title game, right? I know you've figured that much out already. Don't be a boo hater.

I think Camden has a good team. But, alot of those kids have been starting for 2 or 3 years now. Huntingdon is a less experienced team than Camden I believe but still won the game, fairly handily.If they meet in the third round ( which is a bif IF) IMO Huntingdon wins by 4 td's. That game would be at Huntingdon.

Huntingdon was in the wingt before the wingt was cool. Any coach I know who is a true wingt coach believes there is no other offense. Go back and look at some of the posts about offensive superiority on this board and you'll see coaches get fighting mad. The wingt is to Huntingdon, what the I is to Milan. If you'll notice, other teams all over tn. have gone to similar packages as Huntingdon (coaches like to copy successful programs) but it just isn't as effective. Thats always been what i've liked about Milan, Huntingdon and Westview. They stick with what they believe in on both sides of the ball. And somethin else is funny about those teams, They Win!

Let me back it up. Avg. around 500 yds of offense per game. Avg. 35+ pts per game. Boo Weathers over 1100 yds and in two of their games he hasn't been in after halftime. Donald is around 600 yds and heating up. Soph. QB Cody Crocker has thrown for close to 700 yds already. The off. line is way ahead of last years at this time. If i'm figuring correctly they have amassed close to 1600 yds in the last 3 games. I personally think they are better than last year offensively. You simply can't stop it all. Like I said before, they will get their 35 pts. And by the way, this isn't 2001 or 2002.

The key for Milan is to stop Huntingdons offense. It just seems like they are gonna get 35 on you regardless. I'm sure coach morris will have a little something special for them scheme wise on defense.

I'll tell you one thing Milan did with Martin: They caught em' early, second thing you did: you scored 14 pts (huntingdon scored 30+ and should have had over 50), you did hold them to twelve but i'll regress to point number 1.

The lb'ers look lost to me and out of position.

They've got some athletes on defense, but no fundamentals. Lb'ers are not as dominant as it seems they should be. Secondary has played solid so far.

The only thing that worries me about Huntingdon is this: They've been absolutely exposive on offense, only punting about once a game. If they ever have a letdown, thats when the defense has got to be there. Against good teams on the road , i.e. Camden and Milan, it could happen. An off night, turnovers, etc. Thats when Huntingdon has got to know their defense will keep them in games. I have great confidence that mansfield is shoring up their def. This friday will be a good measuring stick.

Huntingdon is a different beast all-together for camden. They were upset last week, the defense played poorly and they turned the ball over. It probably wouldn't happen again in a thousand years. I think you'll see Huntingdon play the most physical game they have played this year or camden has seen this year.

Jees, I went by and watched a little practice today at Huntingdon. It was brutal. Looked like they were going through early summer practice rather than the typical season practice. I think coach mansfield is getting his point across. Friday should be a real doozy.

It really amazes me. It doesn't matter what Huntingdon's record is, what they're ranked, or anything else, the other teams in their region expect to get beaten. Huntingdon is the underdog in this one. Camden is undefeated, ranked number 2 in class 2A. Huntingdon is a lowly number 5. All hail the new king of 2A football. But their gonna be upset by Huntingdon this friday, then they will go back to being the underdog. thumb

Rumor over here is Mansfield is po'ed. Yesterday in practice bear crawls were the order of the day. I think he'll get them refocused, he's pretty good at doing that.

I thought Huntingdon had a pretty decent passing game. Last week at westview and the week before they threw the mess out of it.

Hmmm, it seems to me the biggest reason they lost is the failure to stop guy. 33 pts wins any game usually. I know 60 would be nice everytime but.....
