In softball when you get five innings complete and rains come, you have a complete game. The game last night between Blackman and Lebanon is a complete game with Blackman being the winner. If the game has not gone 5 innings, you suspend the game and pick up from the last pitch thrown. (Post season) In regular season if less than 5 innings are played you start the game over. These are National Federation Rules.

Riverdale rained out with Cookeville on Sunday and will be playing them both today and Wed. District Tourn. begins Friday. Jeff Breeden

As for posting the scores on coachT, if you would look at yesterdays schedule it had Riverdale playing Hendersonville. Would you like for our score of the Sparkman game to be posted as Hendersonville? We could have done it that way to satisfy you. Riverdale was run ruled by a good Sparkman team and beaten handily by a single "A" team in Forrest. You will find no excuses here. You and anyone else can come up with whatever excuse you want, but there is none. Facts are facts, you hit the ball and make plays or you do not. Simple as that. Riverdale will also continue to call in scores to both the Tennessean and DNJ. Today Riverdale will play Ardmore Alabama and Tullahoma. The Tullahoma game is at 8:00 and will probably not make the cutoff at the paper so you will probably need to check a different source of in formation on that score. Thanks to everyone that has sent CAT well wishes and thoughts and prayers, also thanks to those that have called and expressed concern to our Riverdale family. CAT had surgery this morning and it was a little worse than they thought going in. She broke both bones at the ankle and cut a tendon on the inside of her foot. Her rehab will last longer than the original 12 weeks as they thought. The good thing is that in the fall at UT she will be as good as new. Please continue to keep this young lady who is a great competitor, and better person in your thoughts and prayers. Jeff Breeden

That is EXACTLY right. It is a very long season and one bad play at the wrong time can cost you what you work hard for all year long. Believe me when I say that no one in the Riverdale camp is thinking about May. They are thinking about how they can get better in practice today in order to be a better team on Tuesday at their next game, and the next and so on.

Here is what I know. Maybe we can piece the bracket together tonight. Station Camp and Marion County play at 11:30. Riverdale plays the winner at 1:00. Blackman and Beech play at 11:30. There are 20 teams coming back on Sunday. Championship scheduled for 5:30.

We are using VirusFP, the one on the approved list. It is black, blue, and purple in color. The banned Virus is yellow in color.

In our cool spring weather any of the composites. My team used Schutt (Fernandez) last year and they were extremely hot. Schutt is going out of the bat business and there are a few left from last year, but they will not replace them if the end cap comes out. The company that made Schutt is Combat. The Combat Virus FP is also very hot. We will be swinging them this year. The same company also makes the RipIt bats. It is a Canada based company. I think everyone will be ok using composites that will get grandfathered in under the new bat standard that is forthcoming from ASA. In the summer I feel like Rocket Tech is the way to go. Also like the Stealth.

Better check your source of information Tigerhawk, no problems in the Riverdale program. CAT has been throwuing almost everyday for awhile now. Been to California the last few weekends getting ready for the season to start.

How would Riverdale have been well served by cancelling? You said this is really a great sport. We are in agreement there. The way that your TEAM gets better is by competing against other good TEAMS. If you are afraid to lose, you are already defeated. The only way to get better is by pushing the envelope against good competition. You win by going into the arena against any and all comers and getting better! Like you said, let the run to the state begin, and may the best TEAM win!

Going into Sunday with the final 4 or 8 teams is a good idea. I know that Baseball has been doing that for years now. The only draw back is that some people do not want to play on Sunday's. I agree with the people who feel that seven games in one day is too much. I don't see anything wrong with stretching a very big tournament from Thursday - Sunday.
