    D2 State

ECS (West Region) should be in the top 8. After that there is no deserving team from the West, but they still get a third in the state tournament, probably Hutchison. If I had to guess: East: GPS (already in) & Baylor Middle: BA, BGA, Father Ryan West: St Agnes, ECS, Hutchison Webb from the East, and JPII and Harpeth Hall from the middle are all better than Hutchison (or whoever the 3 from the middle ends up being), but the breakdown is 3 from the west, 3 from the middle, and 2 from the east.
  2. I think Megan Forrester from JPII was the only NSCAA All American from Tennessee last year.
  3. The Eurosport rankings have lost all credibility in my opinion. The Redmond 11 is a joke...very slanted against DII schools who are among the strongest in the state, and favors AAA schools (except Franklin who is somehow not in the Top 11). The breakdown is 5 AAA, 3 A/AA, and 3 DII. Whoever makes this "poll" feels the need to always include CCS and FRA in the Top 11 regardless of results. How is BGA not in there, and why is JPII in there? Here are BGA's results against teams in the "Top 11": #1 St Agnes beat BGA 1-0 in an early scrimmage #2 Collierville lost to BGA last week 1-0 #5 Oak Ridge lost to BGA last week 3-1 #7 Siegel lost to BGA 4-1 in an early scrimmage #9 FRA tied BGA 1-1 #10 JPII lost to BGA 4-2 So if you count the scrimmages, BGA is 4-1-1 against the "Top 11" with the loss being 1-0 to the top team. Without the scrimmages, they 3-0-1. Siegel, JPII and CCS have no business in the Overall Top 11.
  4. St. Cecilia 1 JPII 1 I don't know much about St. Cecilia, but I'd say that's a surprising result.
  5. That's a surprising result. What were the yellow cards for? Any for diving?

    St. Agnes vs. ECS

Thanks. I would have expected a slightly higher margin.
  7. Was this game played yesterday? I can't find a score anywhere.

    Rankings

I'm not sure about the Student Sport rankings, but for the NSCAA, the region includes D.C., Md., Ky., Tenn., Va., W. Va. There's some pretty good soccer in the region, particularly Virginia and Maryland.
  9. Hutchison had 10 seniors this year. St. Agnes pretty much returns their entire team. Baylor is losing 5 starters who are really the backbone of their team. GPS graduate 4, 2 who are starters. Another team to look for is BGA. They are a solid team and will only lose 1 to graduation. I agree that JPII will struggle next year compared to what they have done the last couple of years.
  10. Regional: #3 JPII #4 Father Ryan #7 Collierville #10 Centennial National: #15 JPII #19 Father Ryan
  11. Congratulations, Baylor! Better luck next year, Father Ryan and JPII

    BEARDEN?

If this score is in fact correct and both teams were full strength, this has to be one of the upsets of the year. Bearden just received a regional ranking by adidas/NSCAA and they lose to Webb, a team with a sub-.500 record and 1 win over a team with a .500 record or better.
  13. Congratulations to Notre Dame for being ranked in both the A/AA poll and the DII poll. Way to go Eurosportscoreboard.com!!!!
  14. This should be a good one. The game is at Baylor and it will be the first time these two have played on Baylor's new field; also the first time at Baylor under lights. Last year Baylor got a last minute goal to escape with a tie at GPS. Baylor went on to win another state title. Not sealing the deal on that game meant that GPS had to play Notre Dame in the region semis, which ultimately ended their season. This year's game won't carry nearly as much weight, with only 3 teams in the region, the 3rd being Webb. Regardless of all of that, this one will be intense, and should be fun to watch.
  15. Father Ryan is very deserving; I haven't seen Collierville, but based on results, they are desrving as well.
  16. Oak Ridge? Give me a break.

    rankings

It’s your rankings so you can do it how you want to, but I would like to see (from someone who knows the state well) a true Top 25 regardless of classification. For example, you only allow for 5 DII schools. Those 5 are all in your top 12, so certainly the next DII school (probably St Agnes) is stronger than a lot of teams in the bottom half of the Top 25.
  18. To say any team will definitely win State is silly, especially in a game like soccer where anything can happen. Father Ryan is the clear favorite, but there are plenty of teams who are capable of knocking them off on a given day. Having seen most of the DII contenders, here is how I would rank them: 1. Father Ryan 2. JPII 3. Baylor 4. St. Agnes 5. Hutchison 6. ECS 7. GPS 8. BGA
  19. West: Hutchison, St. Agnes, ECS Middle: Father Ryan, JPII, BGA East: Baylor, GPS Right now it looks like it's Father Ryan's tournament to lose.
  20. Which team has 8 games in 11 days? mjuhb, you seem to be knowledgable of both teams. Going into it, what did you think the result would be. I'm just curious if I am the only one surprised by the 0-0 tie.
  21. I gotta say I was shocked to see this score this morning. Did any of you see the game? I thought for sure it would be Baylor 3-0 or somewhere in that range, especially since it was at Baylor. Maybe Tullahoma is better than I thought, or maybe Baylor is not as good as advertised.
  22. Megan Forrester from JPII is the best player I've seen this year. Grace Lawson from JPII could be mentioned as well along with the 2 girls from Father Ryan (#7 and #21 I think). Paige Lanter from Baylor would be up there too.

    OHS SOCCER

I actually expected Ooltewah to beat them worse than that. It's still a solid win and Ooltewah will be a legitimate contender this year.

Where's the top10 regardless of classification? I bet Notre Dame doesn't hold that #10 spot like they did last week.
