The Father Ryan Invitational has all the wrestling teams from D2-AAA( except BA,they dont have much to show), and some AA. We also get teams like Franklin and Clarksville. Last year Franklin sweeped it, scoring 278 (team). A lot of great teams come to this event and its always fun to watch, serious talent and matches.

And I laugh at you. Your knowledge of football is limited to your knowledge of all things, which is quite small. GTFO NEWB. We do try to get more non-parochial kids in. We accept Catholic kids from everywhere, so must people who go to FRHS are Catholics that went to a public school. Its tough for us to expand our acceptants with so many schools that are in Middle Tennessee. But we do a darn good job of making good athletes that come to Ryan, all sports considered.

So what you guys are saying is the non-parochial school athletes are better than parochial school athletes? Tate is from a parochial school and he is doing pretty well. Although Ryan's population is limited to a degree, it is still diverse. There are plenty of students from non-parochial schools. Though the parochial outnumbers them by a lot, they are there, and they contribute well. frhs2140, to answer your question, the senior class has the most confidence in their ability than any other class that has come through for a while. Freshman year we knew we were gonna be the class that turned things around. We are prepared to do this, and we have the leadership to do it. Now that we have a strong minded coach, a senior class with plenty of leadership, and junior and sophmore classes with amazing talent, it would be a shame if we didnt make playoffs. But I have hope that we will, we are definitley gonna be the suprise team next year. Size on the team is no longer a problem. Speed might, but I think we got a lot of fast guys. Losing a player like Hausman is hard, but we got a lot of players who learned from him and will be just as good as him. This is gonna be a great year of basketball. I heard Tate wasnt playing for Pope, is this true? I didnt believe the Pope person who told me. I see BA/Ryan in state, and I cannot determine a winner, determines on Ryan's health. Langhi vs. Wright would be an awesome matchup, but Langhi has a lot of work to do.

Pope mainly takes kids from St.Joseph(Tate) from us, and when we got kids from HRA(all the good athletes from HRA go to FR anyway, guy wise), St. Henry, and Stedwards coming, we really dont care about Pope taking kids from us. As long as they get a good Catholic education. Our talent lines are quite filled to the tap. The freshman team beat both MBA and McCallie, and the JV team beat BA. Note the fact that most of the JV is the same excact freshman who turned a lot of heads with a good season. The seniors this year missed out, but they had the most potent season with this one. People overlook our junior class. It hasnt had a lot of press, but there are guys names in here that used to make me fear playing them in parochial schools. Now this class has the chance to felx its muscles with and excellent junior class and an excellent sophmore class coming up. If this is my last season, then I will be walking home with the state championship trophy, I garuntee it. Oh, and Tex, I need my kleets back for next season. Buckle Up!

Hausman was hurt. Its like we tried playing offense with our right hand tied behind our back. The offense will struggle without Hausman. However, the defense did well. We just need to capitalize on turnovers, and make sure our players stay healty, especially our best one!

I dont know how anyone can say that after all the progress we've made this year. Sure we may not have a winning record right now, but darn, I myself couldnt be happier with all the good and progress that has been made. And now that we have gone this far, do you think we will stop? Turn back? No, we wont wait for next year or the year after. We want this now. I would listen to wesvols, booya23. He knows more about BA football than you know about all things in life combined. He is right to say it will be a close game, cause it will. As losing at the line of scrimmage, I say not. Ryan's linemen are their creme de la creme. But not a place for a 6'1 175lbs guy (me) . The linemen have pretty much put up a great game against most teams theyve played. And from what I hear, its pancake night every Friday when the Irish are on offense.

Anything can happen on Friday nights. I think this is a great oppurtunity for some of the best players at Ryan to give their best performance, for Friday night will be probably be their last oppurtunity to win by winning, and not an upset. I refuse to believe that Ryan will watch BA pound them with points, they give more effort than last year. Ryan is definitely at a level of competition against BA and might be equally matched. If the Irish once again keep the penalties and turnovers down, they will have enough confidence and momentum to beat BA. But one false move by a Ryan player could spell disaster. FR has to play the smarter game here to win.

Tate is not getting his chance to play big teams. Though he beat us down ( more like the Sneed kid, he is a very good player) he struggles against tough teams like MBA and ECS, Knox Webb. The teams he has done well against are teams that do not offer enough difficulty. Sure he beat Ryan, but that is when we were at the bottom of the pit. If Tate does well against MBA next year, rushing 90+ against their first string (not JV teams that happened late in the 4th quarter), then I will agree with the Pope fans that yes, he is one of the best players in TN. Until then, the teams he plays are far from his talent and Golden needs a challenge. Try D2-AAA on for size. I think Tate would do well in there, but not be as good as he is now.

Does this 'trophy' actually exist? And if it does, who cares? There is only 1 trophy a team should want, the State Championship trophy. all other trophies (unless region or class) in the regular season are pointless.

Tate is good but Pope will not win D2-AA championship with him, nor anytime soon.

Golden Tate is a great player, no doubt. We totally underestimated him. We knew going into the game, Tate would be the most dangerous guy. For a while we did good shutting him down, but we lost focus of him. White and Ford arent easy to shut down, and if they dont get a lot of yardage against MBA, its not because they were sophmores, it is becuase most teams who plays BA know who to look for: their backs.

If the score should have been 14-6, it would have been 14-6. Pope is in no position to play D2-AAA teams. Before the Franklin High game, Lussier made crucial adjustments to players positions and different schemes of play. The Father Ryan team you saw Week 1 is VERY different from the one you see in week 7. Know what I mean? Lussier didnt know what to expect in week 1 or 2, but he found out quick, and he made changes that were on the dot.
