  1. You only hear about those carrying the ball - the big boys never get enough credit, but believe it when I tell you that Miller, Thomas and Butler know what makes them as successful as they are. Smyrna does seem to be heading in the right direction.
  2. Interesting possibilities - The final 8 includes 4 of the "regulars" - Riverdale, Germantown, Brentwood and Oak Ridge. Then there are the 4 new guys. Is this the year that we see a changing of the guard, or do Ridgeway, Cookeville, Farragut and Ravenwood fade out at the end? eight good teams left - three games to play. My opinion - I just have to believe that Riverdale - OR in the semis IS Thanksgiving weekend in Tennessee. But first it is Cookeville, and I honestly don't know about this matchup. I'll wait and see what others say - there are some on here that consistently pick winners, and some that consistently have a knack for backing the wrong horse. Go Warriors.
  3. Marques Locke is out with a concussion. Riverdale still wins, though.
  4. Actually it was not Dave - it was Croach, just no one recognized him with clothes on.
  5. Great story! IF HE says it is going to happen, then what can be done?
  6. Isn't putting Smyrna 24 rdale 21 at the bottom of your post saying something about Smyrna beating Riverdale? Just a technicality.
  7. cat, I agree that Smyrna seems to hand Riverdale a whole lot of presents, sometimes in bunches. Do you think it has reached the point where it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy? How can the dawgs overcome the pattern of having one mistake become many? I think it is somewhat in their heads at this point. I doubt Riverdale is overlooking Smyrna, for exactly the reasons you posted.
  8. YAWN. I love these recycled posts.
  9. If you get credit for a tackle simply by being the closest to a runner who steps out of bounds, shouldn't you also get a multiplier based on the number of cheerleaders you knock over when you actually do hit someone on the sidelines?
  10. My guess is they will "cover" him by trying to keep the QB on his back all night. That strategy has worked in the past.
  11. I don't think we have it anymore. Good thing too, since I would have to break a promise I made earlier in the year. I said I would not pick Oakland until they beat someone - but I really think they win this week.
  12. So WHO will give SP trouble this year? Any threats before the playoffs?
  13. I appreciate it too. I misinterpreted your intent the first time you posted the results of their game. I apologize.
  14. I thought we were playing "Bye". NEarly had a heart attack when I heard it is actually "open". Trivia question - who was the last team to score on them???
  15. Congrats to the Eagles. Gotta love those Rutherford County boys.
  16. HAven't seen Oakland but I don't think LaVergne is overrated. Maybe the Patriots are coming around.
  17. This game was closer than I expected.
  18. Give WilsonCentral22 some credit - he came on here and faced the music. I doubt many, if any, of the other newbies on here will do the same.
  19. Riverdale wins, that's the only stat I care about. The Warriors should win the next 4 then it gets tougher. Possibly LaVergne again in the second round, WC or Cookeville in the third and maybe another trip to Oak Ridge for the semis. That is a tough road and the Warriors certainly are not a lock this year. The gap may be closing a little, but the Warriors are still beating good football teams. If Riverdale stays focused they can win it all - if not, they could play their last game in Week 12. To go on the road and beat the state's 3rd ranked team by 2 TDs is quite an accomplishment.
  20. Where do you keep coming up with all that garbage? It is posters from other teams who always say they have a better defense, better back, better whatever than the Warriors. All I have seen Riverdale fans say is that don't talk about it until you do it. I am a Riverdale fan and I have no idea if they will win it all this year. That fact by itself renders your assertion untrue. Jealousy does not become you.
  21. I know the thread says Tennessee teams, but I am as proud of my alma mater as anyone else on here. Shannon Red Raiders, Shannon Mississippi class of 1978. 1-8 junior year followed by an 8-2 senior year where it seemed like every away game was somebody's homecoming. We ruined most of them Played junior college basketball, because no body seemed to want a 6 foot 5 inch 165 pound tight end.
  22. I agree, and you probably ain't gonna like what you see....... I hope for an injury free game for both teams, and whatever happens - happens.
  23. I would doubt those two meeting in the first round of the playoffs. The matchups are a #1 against a #4 and #2 against #3. I imagine Cookeville and WC will both be higher than #3 in their region, probably Cookeville #1 in theirs. If so, WC would have to finish 4th in Region 4 - not likely.
  24. I hear Tamar may not play, so I did not want to presume too much.
  25. Agreed. Plus another reason for letting them talk as much as they want to is that they won't even be on here any more after Friday night.
