  1. I am sorry for my actions tonight in the flipping off incident but I was in the heat of the moment when the Powell players started mocking us....And it wasn't just a few sophomores....I saw Jimmy Franklin and Jonathon Price but anyways that doesnt make my actions right and I apologize to anyone who saw or was offended by it. On the same token grown men on here saying they loved to see O'Kicker miss those field goals and extra point is pretty classless themselves. But anyway, to the game....Both defenses did play good but neither one of the offenses are that good either....Cruze did hurt us on some scrambling but the pass that got picked off wasnt a great one....and why Powell was throwing the ball up 7-0 with 3 or so minutes to go in the game I didnt think was the greatest idea but hey they won so oh well. Hats off to Powell for the win a probably a spot in the playoffs. Again I apologize for my actions. As Always....Go Big Red!
  2. Sorry guys....I know you have missed me but my computer has been down but anyways....I will be taking the journey down to Athens as well but im not leaving till Saturday morning since it is such a late game but UT will win because UGA doesn't have a proven QB but who cares....This is a high school site and saying that: I think Halls will pull it out in a close one....Halls with a little momentum and really I don't have a great reason or logic but thtas just how i think its gunna happen! It seems that Powell plays to the level of their competition hearing the scores of the last 2 weeks and Halls is good against Clinton, Gibbs, and Karns but not the better teams in the area...Anyways....like someone already stated, very rarely is this game a blowout....usually always good close games so Friday should not be any different. Halls-17 Powell-14 As Always....Go Big Red!
  3. Yes very tough to play those teams this early in the season but didn't Clinton lose to South Doyle too?
  4. Yes maybe there are some wrestling fans but if you can remember....last Thursday and sometime over last weekend(two different occasions) there were PHS and POWELL and HALLS stinks paintings along with 2 male reproductive organs so although two wrongs don't make a right Powell did start this one. Also, like others have said, why are we talking about this....this game isnt for 2 weeks....both teams have a game before that. As Always....Go Big Red!
  5. Halls-24 Karns-14 Halls had a few to many turnovers but beat a decent at best Karns team. Dayton and Kitts both had TD's and I forget who the other one was and O'Kicker had a 39 yard field goal. Halls fumbled an exchange from Cooper to one of the tailbacks and Karns scored off the fumble and went up 6-0 and didnt score again until about 6 minutes left in the game and to make it 24-14. Karns offense is very stagnent. Im sure other people will give more details. As Always....Go Big Red!
  6. Should be a good game tonight....Sloppy and ugly but good as far as the game because 2 teams that have had a rough start to the year. Are there any other games tonight or are all the other still going to be held tomorrow night? I think this one will come down to who will capitalize on the other teams mistakes(turnovers) and my boy O'Kicker I think will be the difference in a low scoring sloppy game. I think my first prediction was 13-10 but if not then im changing it to that. Halls-13 Karns-10 As Always....Go Big Red!
  7. RD1, When I made those decisions(to quit and then later to not come back) I was thinking about what was best for me in my future....I play basketball all summer with high school and the bulk of my AAU and I didn't want to waste a summer of practicing football and miss all that...I wouldn't be half the basketball player I am today if I had played football....I have played basketball all my life and I love it, my 9th grade year was the first time I had ever play football in my life and I really enjoyed it but it wasn't the same love I had and have for basketball....It's not like I quit on a team in the middle of the season or something, I made a decision that was best for my future so if you wanna call that selfish then you can. As for the Graffiti: It is definetely true because I saw with my own eyes Fri. and today and over the weekend more was painted. When the players walk down before the game they walk between the concession stand and another building that has the words "GO BIG RED" on it....well on the "GO BIG RED" building over the letters was painted(trying to say this in an appropriate way) two different pictures of the male reproductive organ and another Halls stinks on the sidewalk near there. I don't know why or who but it is there. As Always....Go Big Red!
  8. Friend here from Halls before he moved....Thoughts and Prayers are with Beeler....Is it true he won't play again because that was one report that came our way? As Always....Go Big Red!
  9. Looks to be a good game with neither team having a very sucessful start of the season but I do think Halls can pull it out....I Like others have said my boy O'Kicker might be the difference in this hard fought game were neither team has much offense....I just don't see Karns winning this game with all the stuff on the side with their coach and that whole situation....Halls in a close ugly battle. Halls-13 Karns-10 As Always....Go Big Red!
  10. Ya, as a freshman on the freshman team I started both ways at reciever/cornerback and after that year I quit to focus on basketball and because Choach Sheppard wasn't my favorite. I thought about coming back last year but i figured with all 11 starters on defense being seniors I wouldn't get much time. As far as the current players, I can't really get a read on them yet but I'm sure they can't be too thrilled! Along the lines with the field....not many know about this(outside of people in the school) but Thursday night somebody or some people painted on the press box, the big red wall, and the door to the fieldhouse. About 4 different things were said in the paintings: PHS, Powell, Halls stinks, and yours truely @$$kickers. Not many people know about that since there wasn't a home game and it just happened Thursday night but just wanted to throw that out there and see what everyone thought about that. As Always....Go Big Red!
  11. Hey Reddevil, If you hate saying those things then you can say....Wait till basketball! This was was very ugly very fast! West-52 Halls-17 Nuff Said As Always....Go Big Red!
  12. Here we go again....As people have said, this game usually determines the 4th playoff spot in the region. Halls has won it the past 3 or 4 years(I think) but that means nothing this year with the very young Halls team. I don't know enough about West to talk about them but here are what I think are the Devils keys to winning this game: 1. Blocking, Blocking, Blocking up front on the o-line....We showed what we could do with some blocking last week(Granted it was Gibbs but run with me here). 2. Special Teams....Seveir County had 14 points on 2 punts returned for a touchdown by their quarterback and we had a field goal blocked. 3. Limit Tournovers....Guessing here but maybe 6 or 7 TO's in two games with SCHS and Central. 4. Don't play so soft and learn how to tackle in the secondary....Like the UT-Cal game, there was atleast 1, maybe 2 times Central threw a little screen pass and 50 or 60 yards later they were in the endzone. Coming from the heart: Halls-16 West-14 As Always....Go Big Red!
  13. Powell will not be a speed bump for Maryville at all! Nothing at all against Powell and I dont wanna start anything like some of the past threads, Halls will not be a speed bump for Maryville and I dare say Central probably wont even be a speed bump for Maryville. I don't know that there is a team in East Tennessee that can challenge Maryville because they are that good. As Always....Go Big Red!
  14. Like everyone said earlier, the Red Devils pulled some things together last night. It shows what Coop and Dayton can do with a little bit of time to work, granted it was Gibbs but if they can get some blocking I think they can do that more often. What a night for Dayton with 3 TD's and 2 interceptions. This was a good win and the fact it was a blowout is even better. This should be a confidence builder for the young Halls team going into the game with West. The winner of this game usually gets in the playoffs and the loser doesn't. Great win for the devils! As Always....Go Big Red!
  15. This shows it's not gunna be a good season when you have to worry about Gibbs! Oh well, i'll be there and i'll be loud and proud. O'Kicker is the difference in this one. O'Kicker kicks 3 feild goals and the offense finally gets in the endzone but for the year O'Kicker is still up on the offense in points 16-6. Halls- 16 Gibbs-10 As Always....Go Big Red!
  16. Sorry for the wrong info....Pevy did tweak a hamstring before the Carter scrimmage but he caught strep throat the day of the Sevier County game and wasn't able to attend school so therefore he didn't play but he will be playing tomorrow night! As for the game....As said earlier the rain maybe will help us and medman-pretty funny because coach Julian joked today about wetting the field down tomorrow before the game....and of course he was joking so Central fans can't use that as an excuse when we beat them tomorrow! Saying that....lets hope we keep it close! Halls-13 Central-31 As Always....Go Big Red!
  17. Ya the Freshman team won 34-7 then the JV got beat 8-7....On Pevy, I know he pulled his hamstring I think during warm-ups of the Carter scrimmage and I think that is still hurting him. As for Friday night....Lets hope it stays close....the later Central lets the young Halls group stay in it....the better a shot that they have to win....unfortunately it might not be close for long....There will be a good crowd there just because of the teams and the rivalry....Anyways, lets hope its close and good luck to Coach Julian and the mighty Red Devils! As Always....Go Big Red!
  18. Rob, Thank you very much for what you said and like you said earlier, I played AAU basketball with 5 or so kids from Powell and one from Karns so exactly like you said....I want to beat Powell BAD every time I play them but I am friends with all the players and have very much respect for them and most of the Powell fans as well. As Always....Go Big Red!
  19. Rob, I know you probably wont but please dont let him put a label on the rest of us Halls fans. As Always....Go Big Red!
  20. This is ridiculous! Both the Halls vs. Sevir County and Powell vs. Webb posts have been turned into people getting mad at each other and trash talking each other....This site and these boards are about high school sports not trashing other posters and making fun of each other just to try to prove each other wrong. I am a high school senior and my friends and I are more mature than some people on these boards! Just quit arguing and trying to show each other up and lets just talk about sports! As Always....Go Big Red!
  21. A decent first 6 or 7 minutes for the devils then a long long night after that. Started out 6-0 giving the fans hope and then the defense gave up a TD drive and then pretty much within the 2nd and 3rd quarters the wheels completely fell off. Coop had a couple of mistakes on offense but when we only run 1 formation that only has 1 pass play in it and when you run that 1 pass play the defensive line is in the backfield before Coop can complete a 3-step drop doesnt make it easy on him. Also, special teams was a killer giving up two TD's on punt returns. Wes Kitts-Maybe doesn't have the best hands in the world but he runs extremely hard and looks to be a good offensive weapon! O'Kicker had a(I think) 52 yard field goal attempt blocked and when I saw the other comment I was wondering....What is his brother's record? Unfortunately, last night showed signs of Ian's senior year and that is....Ian bombing kickoffs through the uprights and bombing long field goals....the only problem was that was the only way we scored....Hope Logan can get some help because if the season goes as last night went, Logan's senior year will be alot like Ian's senior year. And lastly, this just adds salt to the wound....I'm sure everyone has seen that our opponent for next week,Central, beat Farragut 34-7 so next week might be a long night as well. As Always....Go Big Red!
  22. I wont make a prediction for the game because I dont know enough about SCHS and I dont know how our young team will respond to the scrimmages and jamboree. I hope Coop and Dayton can connect for a big play or two. On Dayton's health: I am almost positive he is playing but i dont know if he is 100%. He has been practicing so that is a good sign so he should be ok! Saying that I will of course be cheering for the mighty Red Devils and I will be there watching. Good luck to the team! Reddevil....Good call on the feild....It is a dang mountain! As Always....Go Big Red!
  23. Thanks reddevil....Where have you seen me play AAU and do I know who you are? Does the loss that SCHS had give us anymore of a chance against them? Also, Great to hear Coach Ward as recovered enough to be back on the sidelines! As Always....Go Big Red!
  24. Basketball is going good thanks and none yet but hopefully some will come. fairplay2121 Posted Today, 07:13 AM I heard Halls had a scrimmage tonight. Anybody know who they are playing and where it is to be held? It was tonight with Carter and I saw the equivalent of about 3 quarters and we were down I think 21-0....like someone said earlier no Dayton didn't play and I will get to that in a sec. but it didn't matter if he would have played because like someone else previously stated we didn't throw that often and when we did it was a sack or very very hurried pass on the run....Back to our whole offense-Daniel Dayton....I have a class with him and he told me personally he should start practicing again Tuesday and be back in time for the Sevier County game but yet again it wouldnt matter if we had T.O. running routes, becuase even he probably couldn't get open because the QB doesn't have time to take a 5 step drop ....But.... As Always....Go Big Red!
  25. What kind of injuries and to whom are they at Central?....And yes....the Webb QB is Blake Beeler and someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure they still live in Halls but he has been going to Webb since his 8th grade year. As Always....Go Big Red!
